Adam is really super (I am only on my third lesson). He will make you feel comfortable and interact with you in a personable and dynamic way.

He is the perfect teacher if you want to improve your stage voice and pitch. Adam is the man if you have fame on your mind. Julia

If you are a little slow on the uptake, (like I am when I don't know the subject matter) you need to be brave and follow his directions in practicing techniques. Adam personalizes his lessons, but they could be more planned. They feel a little too unprepared.

As a music therapist and professional vocalist, my approach to teaching embraces each person's individual goals, experience, and ability to create a tailor made curriculum that includes: building and developing technique, developing practice skills, self-exploration within the lesson, and help developing creative outside projects,

About Jillian
I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy, am a nationally board certified music therapist (MT-BC); performer and vocal instructor (Bachelor's in Classical Voice); certified yoga instructor and meditation guide (200+); certified and attuned Reiki master; professional freelance writer and editor.

...I find joy in a lot of places! And often I find these areas of study inform and augment each other.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances and developmental delays as well as teens and adults with psychosocial issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, and more.

I incorporate my experience as a therapist into the educative setting.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance.

I am a professional vocalist in NYC. I perform liturgical and classical music, as well as musical theater repertoire. I participate in professional operas, choral groups and other concert series. Performing gives me a sense of bliss and completeness that is indescribable.

As a certified yoga instructor, I teach in many locations throughout Westchester. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I offer private yoga instruction and meditation at my home studio. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized classes offered to deepen your experience.

It is a joy to offer Reiki to curious, open clients in need of energy healing. Reiki is a noninvasive energy healing technique totally separate of any religious affiliation and available to anyone. It is a difficult to describe the relaxing, soothing, and deep-healing effects of Reiki to someone who has never experienced.

Please feel free to inquire about any of my services!

*Note: If you don't see a time slot that is suitable to your needs but would like to try a session or lesson with me, feel free to register for the Flex Plan, and we will work out week-to-week times!!**

Fay is such an amazing teacher! I got into Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School thanks to her. Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! If you get the chance, at least take a class, you will not regret it!

Broadway is a huge passion of mine, and being in NYC the resources are endless! However, good Broadway singing teachers have to have three things: a good understanding of the voice, a good understanding of the wide variety of musical theater styles of the past 60 years, and a good understanding of music! Come try out a lesson with me and learn what I have to share!

About Thomas
Hello, my name is T.J. Barnes and I'm currently finishing my bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. I am a pianist and vocalist with a passion for music theory and vocal pedagogy. I've performed in a wide array of venues and styles and have experience as a music director and collaborative musician. I'm soon going to be pursuing my master's degree in choral conducting, but until then I have a desire to share the knowledge I have obtained in my years as a performer, musician, and director. I'm new to takelessons, though I'm not new to giving them, so say hi and ask some questions!

Singing is a beautiful art form that can be accessed by everyone. When taking lessons with me, we will be able to explore all of the beautiful intricacies of the voice and how it can be used to be the most expressive instrument.

With the knowledge that my degrees in voice granted me, I will be able to guide you in a safe yet encouraging manner that will lead you to success in whatever genre you aspire to perform.

About Lyle
I am a professional singer, pianist, and teacher of the two. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University Long Beach, and a Master of Music degree from University of California Los Angeles. During my study of those two degrees, I had marvelous teaching from some of the finest pianists, coaches, and voice teachers around. I can teach you how to sing with true passion, ease, and intent.

I began my study of the piano at the age of 7, my mother being my first teacher. I started on Alfred Piano Books, and still strongly believe in that same curriculum. From there I began to study classical composers like Chopin, Beethoven, Clementi, and Mozart. Although my love of classical music runs deep to my core, I love jazz, pop, and gospel music. I am happy to assist the learning of any style, anything that YOU are passionate for
. :)

With me, you can expect to make weekly progress in your instrument of choice. I am a dedicated performer and an even more dedicated teacher. To me, the two go hand in hand.

Please allow me the opportunity in teaching you and in turn I will give you all the knowledge I possess.

Lyle has a singing voice that will stun and amaze you when he sings in front of you. That will immediately put you at ease and motivate you to sing better using his techniques. His classical training has proven to be a great foundation for teaching me effective ways to understand, use and improve my voice. After 2 lessons I can already see a big difference in my singing abilities and I always learn many new things at each lesson. Lyle has a really open, friendly and non judgemental demeanor and this helped a lot with my nervousness. I can't wait for my next private lesson and would encourage anyone to book him for Broadway, classical and pop singing lessons.

I'm a classically trained singer with both Bachelors and Masters degrees in vocal performance, with a vast array of performance experience in Opera and Musical Theater. I teach beginner through advanced voice students in all styles: pop, country, musical theater, and classical. I strive to make lessons interesting, informative, and fun! Sing what YOU love! Proper technique can be applied to any style of music for HEALTHY singing. I believe in a holistic approach to singing grounded in the foundations of the Alexander Technique. My main goal is to teach a healthy vocal foundation for beginning students, and help more advanced students find freedom and flexibility in their voices. If students are interested in basic music theory and learning to read music I can provide instruction as well.

About Lauren
Hi! My name is Lauren, and I'm a professional opera singer with experience in both Opera and Musical Theater. I received my Bachelors degree in vocal performance from Appalachian State University, and my Masters degree in vocal performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory. I've sung professionally since the age of 18, and have performed in numerous operas, musicals, plays, and even a feature film.

I believe the foundation to great singing in ANY style is a healthy technique. I'm happy to work on whatever style of music my students are interested in singing: pop, country, musical theater or classical. I believe in a holistic approach to singing grounded in the foundations of the Alexander Technique. Beginning students can expect to build a healthy foundation, while more advanced students will focus on freedom and flexibility of the v
oice. I believe one of the greatest tools a student can have to achieve success is knowledge and self empowerment! You're never to young or old to practice healthy singing and enjoy finding your own unique voice!

Lauren Maxwell is a fantastic teacher, able to really communicate the very essential basics of singing in a healthy and comprehensive way that allows students to build a foundation from the ground up. As a Juilliard-trained principal cellist of an orchestra who had to build up a technique from scratch once already, it was fantastic to see someone who could do the same with a sometimes more difficult instrument, the human voice.

She is a tireless worker to give you specialized attention to your particular needs. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I take the time to get to know each student, their favorite genres of music, their experience singing, and assess their ability at the beginning of the first lesson. I incorporate breathing techniques and anatomical understanding from the start, ensuring that my students will be better prepared to sing comfortably and correctly. I keep the atmosphere light, allowing for personalities to shine, and most importantly, I give them tons of encouragement reassuring them that they are among family. One of the most important aspects of a voice class, is to make your student(s) feel comfortable, cheer each other on, and respect one another as individuals with individual gifts.

About Deanna
Hey there! I'm very passionate about singing and creating music, and I have been since I was a little girl. I'm a graduate from LaGuardia Performing Arts HS (Fame), where I pursued classical voice, and I am currently a Music Education major at Long Island University Brooklyn. I am studying jazz and I have a passion for Musical Theater and voice over. I am also the Worship Director at my church!

My goal is not only to help my students reach their full potential in vocal quality, but to give them all of the tools and techniques needed to go above and beyond their own expectations. Many times we assume that because someone has so much talent, they are using it properly. That isn't always the case. I am a firm believer in teaching my students how to breathe and use their diaphragm properly, and the results have been a clear, strong, and sus
tained sound with no strain or discomfort! I promise, you will see results after your first lesson with me💖
