Master in most physics concepts. Can identify student shortfalls and address them through the subject fundamentals approach and by tying in real world applications for easier grasp of material.
I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 10 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!
Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attribute
d to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.
Physics is my favorite subject to teach! I scored a 5 on AP Physics exam, 800 on the SAT II Physics subject test, and I've completed two semesters of Physics at Harvard.
The most important attributes of any teacher are empathy and patience.
I currently attend Harvard University and work as a professional writer and tutor. I've lived all over the United States, although I grew up in Scotland of all places. My scores on the SAT and ACT were perfect (1600 and 36 respectively), though I too had to work hard to get there, so I know what it's like when you're just starting out.
Over the years, I've worked with students suffering from ADD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, speech disorders, and depression; I personally grew up inured to social anxiety, so I can always empathize.
Some tutors will tell you that they know all the tricks and shortcuts. But really, there are no tricks. No shortcuts. Just hard work and sleepless nights and talking to yourself while brushing your teeth in the morning
I have a decade of experience and a vast collection of study materials that I can share with you for free. I've had the privilege to help hundreds of students with everything from college applications and essays to Creative Writing and Calculus, not to mention the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, ASVAB, and AP and SAT II subject tests, like Literature, Statistics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as well.
I absolutely love writing, of course, so I can teach you how to write an action scene or listen to a poem.
Simeon has been an absolutely invaluable resource for my SAT prep. His encouragement is appropriately supplemented by challenging material and (appropriately) challenging expectations. He manages to make studying for the SAT fun rather than a laborious task and I could not recommend him more.

Simon has somehow inspired my granddaughter to work really hard to prepare for her SATs. She is finding studying fun again, but more importantly, she is once again more confident about her intelligence and her ability to learn. His style and quirky humor is a perfect match for my granddaughter.
I obtained my Master's Degree in Physics the summer after my Bachelor's; you want someone who has TAed physics classes and obtained a graduate degree in it at your side to make sure you master the class and your studies.
I'm also prepared for teaching! I have TAed multiple physics classes in college and taught over two dozen students in the past year alone! I know how people learn and am fully equipped to help you master physics.
Shoot me a message to determine what the best game plan is for your individual needs. I work with students through material, practice problems, test/quiz prep, teach supplemental lectures from unclear lectures in class, and write practice materials for my students! Let me help you master this topic to meet your goals.
Teaching is what I do! I have TAed multiple classes and taught dozens of students. I teach piano and other music concepts, as well as STEM fields in school. I only teach concepts that I'm completely fluent in, however, so you always get the absolute best instruction possible!
I have been playing piano for over 12 years. I retrained from scratch in the Taubman Technique a few years ago and play with ease and effortless musicality! I have taught tons of students how to play the instrument, incorporating these concepts into their playing as well.
I also tutor in STEM topics, including all math, physics, chemistry, and others. I have tutored over 2 dozen students and helped many achieve great results. I have a Master's degree in applied physics, graduated Magna cum Laude, and am fully prepared to help you master your math/science class
Schedule a lesson with me! See yourself improve from someone who knows how people think and understands the topics enough to impart the same onto you!
I have taught physics, chemistry, and math (from simple calculations, algebra, and geometry through to calculus) in classroom settings and as a tutor for over 10 years, before which I studied and worked as an environmental engineer. With the sciences, particularly, I find it helpful for students to understand some of the history of the evidence for why we currently think the way we do. For instance, it's useful to trace how people used to think about atoms and how they do now, especially looking at the evidence for why that model of an atom has changed.
At my school, I was the teacher infamous for answering a question with a question in order to lead the student from what they already know through reasoning out an answer, which can sometimes take a little more time and effort than just giving the student the answer. Research proves that this is the best way to solidify your learning for deep mastery, though. Don't worry - I won't let you get too frustrated or ever abandon you
Initially trained in environmental engineering, I made the switch to teaching after spending two years as a volunteer teacher abroad. From there, I went on to earn my Masters in Teaching at Seattle University and to teach at public and private schools for the last 10+ years. I've tutored elementary students for whom English is a second language in math, tutored calculus, taught geometry and algebra, high school physics, and introduced a new curriculum to my school for the honors chemistry class, which I also taught.
I'm a big fan of learning by inquiry (especially for science and geometry), which involves trying something out and exploring it a bit, then processing what you experienced through conversation and critical thinking. I understand that not every student is looking for this, though, so if you're just looking to get throu
gh tonight's homework, I'm there for you, too!
Though I'm originally from Washington State, I recently moved to Canada with my wife and three young kids. I'm a lifelong fan of J.R.R. Tolkien (author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings), hiking, permaculture, and enjoying our miraculous universe. We're hoping someday soon to build our own little hobbit-hole house homestead...
I have taught more than 8,000 science, math, and foreign language lessons and enjoy spreading my enthusiasm for physics, chemistry, geometry, algebra, pre-calculus, French, and other subjects. I am patient, understanding, and knowledgeable and willing to repeat explanations as often as necessary or modify my approach to aid in comprehension.
Good day. I very much enjoy tutoring students online and in person and have been tutoring students of all ages since 2011 and have provided more than 8,000 lessons. As a former forensic chemist for the Drug Enforcement Administration and a small-group water-testing laboratory supervisor for the US Air Force overseas, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Drew University with a major in chemistry and a minor in French. It would be an honor to aid you or your child in meeting academic and future career goals. Thank you for your time.
First lesson was yesterday and my daughter was very impressed.

Jennifer has been the biggest blessing to our family by coaching my daughter! Despite my daughter being an all honors and AP student there is still so much that she has learned from Jennifer. My daughter has benefited greatly from how Jennifer explains the concepts with patience and knowledge of the material. My daughter has described Jennifer as “ really nice and easy to talk to and ask questions”. Jeniffer has coached my daughter in AP Chemistry, Precalc and currently AP Calculus and SAT. As a mom, it’s the best thing when you know that your child will do well in a class because Jennifer is there to help her! You will be so pleased if you work with Jennifer and you definitely reach you goal of doing very well in the class! Thanks a million Jennifer for helping my daughter achieve her goal!!!!

Jennifer has tutored me 5 times so far and she is amazing! She has a way of explaining even the most complicated problems and makes them easy to understand. She is very patient and understanding. There has not been a geometry question that I have had yet that she isn't able to break down into simple and understandable steps. I have used other tutors as well prior to using Jennifer and I will never go back. I have already scheduled with her for an additional 4 times! I usually send her my questions the night before our lesson and she is completely prepared the next day. She even has a copy of my textbook for her to reference as well!
Physics is everything, cause it studied the basics of everything and nothing. As a physics student that I am I love seeing students good in physics, it makes them good in almist every other thing. In my school I am the best with a G.P of 4.85 out of 5.00 . At least I can teach because I understand not just because I know. Try me.
My Name is Ezekiel Danjuma, am a student of Physics and Astronomy, You can call me Rahul Danj or simply Rahul. My friends usually refer to me as physics , but I prefer Rahul. Let me just say this: "do you know that relativity is just purely observation, besides, everything you see or experience is observation, but what about what you hear, feel, taste, and percieve can they be explained with relativity... What would length contraction and time dilation mean in terms of other senses other than eye. I Love physics, it is everything. I believe the study of physics should be fun not stressful and I always aim at relaxing the stress on physics students.
You can expect a well practiced hand to guide you in solving physics problems. Includes up to college Physics 1.
I chose my career as an Aerospace Engineer because I love math and physics. I remember taking physics in high school and realizing that all of the math that I had been learning my whole life made sense and actually had a purpose!
Since then, I attended the University of Utah and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently finishing my Master's in Aerospace Engineering at Utah State University. I love physics and math and I really enjoy helping people understand how to think through problems. I'm so excited to get to know you more in our lessons!
I have taught physics and am still certified. I am familiar with the standards for physics and know how to connect the academic standards to practical applications.
I am a former chemistry and physics teacher. My bachelor's degree is in chemistry and have worked in labs both as a researcher and as a supervisor. These are some of my favorite subjects and I spend plenty of my free time researching new experiments or trying something new.
"Worked through each problem thoroughly so that I understood the question being asked and how to solve it."
"I absolutely loved this tutoring program because it helped me understand how to calculate many different equations and problems dealing with conceptual ph
ysics. My tutor was a great help when it came to responding back to me and explaining how to do the problems step by step."
"Awesome tutoring job: very detailed and really refreshed my Math for me as well within the Physics. She helped me through the class and its lab so I would
very highly recommend her."
"Colin is very knowledgeable and helpful. He does an excellent job of teaching the concepts and has been more than helpful with specific word problems.
He is very thorough and has made additional concept videos to help my daughter understand physics concepts. We've appreciated his help. Thank you, Colin!"
"The first lesson went very well, thanks Alex!"
"Excellent tutor! Daniel tutored my 13 year old son in Physics. My son went from being completely lost to getting an A in the class. Very professional, exp
lains topics clearly, connects well with student. My son loved the Skype/online white board method of teaching. No need to go anywhere or sit in traffic. Daniel was flexible with setting up lessons and even made time when urgently needed, like before a test. My son had a great experience and can't wait to learn with Daniel again when he gets to HS physics."
"Super good at explaining why things worked and making sure that I knew how to do everything. Going into my test tomorrow with confidence that I will get a
"I did regents prep with Julia for my high school honors physics class back in 2011. I am now back with Julia for my calc-based college physics course! Her
teaching style saves the day and I'm already better understanding my course material. She goes over each topic with her own notes and examples. I do what she assigns me first before I move on to my actual hw, and it brings me great results. I feel extremely confident about my upcoming midterms. Thank you!!!"
"Akib is very patient and he explained the concepts carefully. Also, he had planned lessons for me because I told him what needed to be covered. He is a gr
eat tutor and I plan to continue with him through the year."
