Born and raised on New York Theatre, well studied in both Method and Technique. Have acted and directed in multiple medias. Was head director of two drama troupes. Have taught countless workshops to groups and have over thirty years experience as a private drama coach.
I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. After working with hundreds of students, I realized that I needed to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student dis
This was contradictory because initially she told me she just moved here and doesn't know anyone up north. And besides that, I expressed how happy i was with her classes which was down the road 35 minutes and not commuting to NYC which is over a couple hours.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time like other acting coaches on here.
With her I felt engaged, she was prepared, professional, stayed on topic and gave relevant critiques and feedback.
At the end of my second lesson she offered to email me a list of acting/improv classes in NYC which she did.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time.

I founded my own theater company 21 years ago and have been teaching and directing actors from ages 6-80 over more than 65 productions. I am an engaging and deeply knowledgeable theater professional who will guide you to get the most out of every speech you want to speak or role you want to play. I can work with you on audition pieces for schools, college or Broadway, as well as just help round out your scene work when you're already in the middle of a rehearsal process. I have quick tips and fixes for any scenario and my approach is personal, and centered on what you want to get out of your experience and what you are bringing to the table in terms of creating a character. My specialty is Shakespeare and I can help you unravel all those imbedded text clues. Let's get started!

For many years I sang in my school Chamber Choir and took voice lessons. The choir performed regularly in pubic and in statewide competitions. I also have years of experience teaching the basics of singing in a low pressure way.
Topics we learn about include breathing and breath control, pitch and intervals, keys and scales and singing harmony. I can accompany a student while they sing, and hopefully teach them the basics of accompanying themselves.
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen y

I have been freelancing professionally and teaching for about 6 years. My curriculum focuses on empowering individuals on the proper techniques which builds the confidence as a actor/actress. THANK YOU, VANESSA!
A year ago when I was shopping for a voice teacher, Take Lessons provided a wide selection of viable options. As a senior adult, I was feeling a need to clarify my "Call" in life, and to return to some of the personal strengths that I hope to continue using in the last 1/3 of my life. In my profile I indicted I was looking to maintain the voice that has been a part of every aspect of my life from theatre to singing, to preaching, to creating radio spots. When I mentioned that goal to Vanessa in our first meeting she countered: âWe wonât just maintain it, weâll restore it!â What a confidence booster that was!
Although my life work mostly involves speaking, I also have a love of singingâsomething I have participated in one way or another for the last 50 years. I wanted to overcome the âold ladyâ vibrato syndrome if possible and to be able to sing without concern that those within earshot would shudder.
In addition, I was looking for certain attributes in a teacher:
⢠A person who is at my stage of life or beyond.
⢠A person who is knowledgeable in both singing and speech.
⢠A person with a personal teaching style that is positive and encouraging.
ENTER VANESSA PACE!
Vanessa is confident and knowledgeable. In addition, she has customized my learning program to suit my current objectives, which have changed from one week to the next depending upon my professional assignments from work and my personal creative pursuits.
In this year Vanessa brought me to a point of âbreaking throughâ inhibitions and moving beyond what I thought Iâd be able to do. Her constant use of cues to put me on track with the use of my voice has been invaluable! She compared letting sound pass through the vocal cords (without strain) in the same way breath becomes music through a clarinet. Using words like âPull up your spineâyouâre two inches taller!â; and reminders to draw on the strength of (underused) larger muscles to support the efforts of diaphragm have been helpful in numerous practical matters of everyday life.
Vanessa is inspiring in that she is a life-long learner and passionate about things to the degree that she invests in them with intelligent research, attention to science, and a spiritual passion that drives her to draw out the best in her students in similar fashion.
If you are looking for a voice teacher, Vanessa will work with you where you are--and help you move toward the goal of where you are hoping to be.
I am thanking God this Thanksgiving Season for Vanessa Pace.

To say I had some work to do in improving my speaking voice and tonality would be a huge understatement, but I have seen awesome progress in only 3 classes with Erin! I look forward to these lessons every week because Erin keeps the classes fun and relaxed! She also makes you feel comfortable to try new things with your voice and really pushes your limits (in the best way possible).
She has already helped me tremendously with my breath, tonality and just generally being aware of how I use my voice. If you are in sales (like me) and want to sound better on the phone or in front of clients --- TAKE HER CLASSES! She will absolutely help you achieve your goals"
As with any profession, actors have tools. Just as a doctor needs a stethoscope or a fireman needs a hose, there are certain items an actor must keep in their toolbox. I usually start classes or lessons by asking my new students or clients what they think these tools might be. Sometimes, the answer is very literal ("Script!"), and other times abstract ("Passion!"). None of these is a wrong answer. Being an actor or artist is subjective and everyone's process is different and valid. But t …
