*** Lesson Details ***
In addition to the fundamentals (Tone, Rhythm, Technique, Ear-Training, Sight-Reading), I also like to tie-in music theory, composition, and improvisation along the way. I believe in setting short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals that are specific to the student and their needs and wants. I also believe in the benefit of having the student bring in songs or materials that they are interested in, and designing lessons around their interests. I am patient, creative, and willing to move at any pace that is right for you.
Through my experience as an educator I understand that every student is different, and therefore, my job is to guide and facilitate learning, while making the process as enjoyable as possible! My approach is customized to bring out your strengths and interests, while also ensuring that you have a solid foundation on your instrument. In addition, I am professionally trained in both jazz & classical music, and I perform regularly with working bands of all types and genres.

Here are a few reasons why drums are important and just awesome:
1. No one can rock out like a drummer.
2. Schlepping your gear from gig to gig is cheaper than a membership to a gym, and it is an even better workout.
3. Percussion is a vital element of every musical style — from rock and blues to R & B to Caribbean.
4. Good drumming has always been the hallmark of hit songs.
5. You have always had great rhythm and musical interest, and now you want to put it to some good use.
6. Drumming will sharpen your concentration and hone your listening skills.
7. You don't need a Ph.D. in music theory to play the drums.
8. Drumming relieves stress and allows you to explore creative expression.
9. Practicing the drums will help you to develop your sense of time and reflexes.
10. Drummers are the heartbeat of any band.

******KEY FACTS & BENEFITS******
*Some children absorb information better when taught one-on-one. By hiring a tutor, who provides one-on-one instruction, the child can be provided the one-on-one assistance needed to thrive in the traditional classroom.
**Some children do not feel comfortable in the highly structured environment that is the traditional classroom. As a result, these children may struggle with coursework: not because they lack the capacity to grasp the material, but because the learning environment is not appropriate for them. By creating a different learning environment, a more open and flexible environment, these children often thrive academically. A tutor can provide that different learning environment. While they may never be comfortable in a highly structured environment, they will, with the help of a tutor, be given the opportunity to learn their coursework and graduate successfully.
***Some children may be struggling to understand some of their coursework. Teachers in a traditional classroom cannot slow the instruction if one student is lagging, so there may be times when a student feels left behind in the classroom. Hiring a tutor to provide additional instruction and help the child grasp the material in the coursework, can help the student catch up with his/her classmates and successfully pass his/her class.
Remember, Knowledge is Power! Make learning fun and have fun while you are learning. I would love to help you grow as a successful artist and follow your dreams.

Hey everyone! My name is Bobby, I'm a 27-year-old Salt Lake native that just moved to New York for work. I studied at Westminster College and have a minor in Orchestral percussion.
I've been teaching for over 5 years both young and old students and I'm looking to teach beginner/intermediate drum students.
I focus on teaching students to learn how to read drum music, drum kit, beats, fills, songs, and rudiments.
If you or someone you know is interested please feel free to email or text me.
I can teach students how to read drum sheet music, learn songs, compose their own beats, keep the rhythm of the song, rudiments, and help students play in odd time signatures.
I am currently looking to teach beginner and intermediate students of any age range. I teach my clients in my creative and comfortable home in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Some of the genres of music I regularly teach are Rock, Indie, Hard Rock, Funk, R&B, Country, Pop and Metal.

Bobby has been an incredible teacher; he is consistently patient, kind, and fun. He has a great way of creating engaging lessons that include a mix of learning to play specific songs and also working on drills that make playing those songs a little easier. If you're looking for a talented, supportive, and down to earth drum teacher, Bobby's your guy! I highly recommend him!

I am a professional, active drummer with a firm grasp on all styles ranging from rock to jazz.
Having had the opportunity to teach students of a wide range of ages (4-50 y/o), I've seen that everyone learns differently and at their own pace. My goal for each lesson is to hone in on the student's interests and base lesson material off of the music that they want to learn - be it classical, rock, or even video game music! I want there to be application for every thing taught in my lesson, and for the student to be able to relate one musical concept to another.
I am available to teach any of the instruments mentioned as well as any music theory, writing, or production lessons as well. I hope I can help you meet your musical goals!

He is extremely musical
Every student has different learning curves - different strengths and weaknesses. My lessons are tailored for each of their needs.
Fun, easy to follow and goal driven.
I began playing drums at the age of 11. Graduated with a Music Performance Degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
I've been teaching students of ages ranging from 7 to 55, both privately and at a few different music schools.
Additionally, I'm also a touring drummer for a few different NY based bands.
Drum lessons with me are unique because I am extremely sensitive to every one of my student's individualities. Though I do use curriculum frequently, lessons become very customized to each students individual wants and needs. No two students are the same, so neither are any two of my lessons. I am careful to figure out exactly what each student is wanting to get out of lessons with me and I work to give them just that - and more!
As a teacher I try to pass my love of learning music of all types on to my students. My goal is for every student that comes through the doors of my teaching studio to not only improve technically, but more so to have the way that they listen to music be transformed. My musical philosophy is that the musician with
Since moving to New York in November, 2016, I have performed as a drummer at many staple New York venues, such as The Bitter End, Feinstein’s 59 Below, the Metropolitan room, Silent Barn, Baby’s All Right, Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, Silvana’s, and Brooklyn Bazaar. I am the drummer for three bands, Poppies, Smoke and Sugar, and King Jane, all active in different parts of New York’s multi-faceted music scene. I have also been active as an instructor, teaching drums, percussion, guitar, piano, bass, and vocals out of Guitar Center Brooklyn since January of 2017.
