I really love his guitar lesson. I am a beginner and needed professional's help to improve and Keith taught me step by step from the basic and I was able to understand a guitar better and enjoyed playing a guitar more. From every lesson, I learnt new things. I really recommend his guitar class.

Learn repertoire that ranges from pop to contemporary, fingerstyle, and jazz, with a bit of blues thrown in.

You can use a pick or fingers, learn to read music or tab, learn technique idiomatic to the guitar as a melodic or accompanying instrument.

We can explore song writing and recording as well!

About Cheryl
Learning an instrument teaches focus and goal setting strategies, develops self-direction and self-esteem, plus the added benefit of developing the brain for academic achievement.

And, it's just plain FUN!!

I specialize in teaching music and guitar to children ages 7 through 18 including college prep for auditions. I hold a music degree from Montclair State University and have over 12 years of teaching experience.

Your child will learn how to read music, play melody and chords and progressively acquire skills as a musician and guitarist. Music theory, ear training and rhythm study are included.

This is perfect for home schooled children or as a supplement to public or private school music programs.

I specialize in acoustic guitar - both classical and contemporary, steel string and nylon.

I have been a musician for o
ver 25 years. In addition to guitar, I'm a vocalist, composer and arranger as well as a music publisher. I actively perform as both a classical guitarist and singer-songwriter.

PLEASE SPEAK TO ME before purchasing your child's instrument. A standard size steel string guitar can be difficult to handle and may discourage your child.

***NOTES ABOUT SPECIAL NEEDS***

Usually, learning disabilities, ADD & ADHD go together just fine with guitar lessons and frequently give these precious young people a creative outlet. Speak to me about your child's needs so I can prepare the best lessons possible!

Be aware that there are stairs to my home studio. Please take this into consideration if you have an ambulatory disability.

*** STUDIO EQUIPMENT ***

Home Studio, dedicated space, guitars and recording equipment, keyboard and amps, music stands, chairs, comfortable waiting area for parents.

My youngest student is 5! And I work with a teacher who specializes in intermediate and advanced whom I transition my more students over to once they reach a more advanced level. I teach basic plucking, chords and strum patterns of your favorite tunes!

About Tammy
I conduct group lessons for young children, which I am unable to state on my profile/list of services here. You can send me a message if you are interested in them!

I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others.

I started playing the piano at around the age of four, and helped out as a substitute teacher at my mother's music school back in Singapore while in High School. I left shortly after to pursue music at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated summa cum laude in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production!

My students range from as 3.5 years old, to the grandmother of a couple of my students. I wo
rk mostly with children, but have a handful of adult beginner students I work with as well.

Everyone is different - and I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. I'll push you (a little!), to make you realize just how much you can do!

Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from jazz to pop to classical, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and perhaps (if you like) record them!

We are absolutely thrilled with our experience with Tammy. My two sons meet with her online to review the Mandarin language they take at school. The extra 30 min. a week of conversation and tone work is invaluable. I would rate Tammy a 10/10 as she sends highlights, a review and suggestions of study for the week after each lesson. If a person can have teenage boys look forward to "extra" Chinese weekly, they deserve a medal!

I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

With 30 years of guitar experience, I favor a flexible style of teaching, tailored to fit the particular profile of each student as an individual. As a published author of guitar instruction books in the fingerpicking, classical, flamenco and acoustic blues styles, I have a large library of materials to choose from, so that every student's level, musical taste can be accommodated – and let's not forget to have some fun with the guitar, since after all the important thing is to enjoy playing.

About Paul Jared
Hi, I am a native New Yorker and a guitar player since age 13. I played in blues/rock bands throughout my teens, getting to play the legendary clubs of my Greenwich Village neighborhood. My discovery of Spanish classical guitar music occurred in college at UC Berkeley, and I graduated with a BA in Music, then spent two years playing in Europe, before returning home and forming the band Not Heaven; we played the club circuit, Danceteria to CBGB.

I also began teaching at the American Institute of Guitar in NYC, and writing guitar instruction books (still in print!). Along the way I did a Master’s in Guitar Performance at Stony Brook, and have continued to publish, perform and teach the music which inspires me.

Classical and Flamenco music are my primary involvement, as a teacher, performer and composer.

Many people think playing acoustic guitar is the same as playing the electric. While this isn't completely untrue, there are subtle differences that are key to mastering either or both. When we sit down to work on building our skills on an acoustic guitar, we'd go at a pace comfortable for you, and you'll be playing like a pro in no time.

About Dave
Hi, my name is Dave Muto, and I've been teaching guitar & bass for over 13 years. Working as a professional musician, I've made the time to teach students of all ages. Teaching has been my passion alongside performing since I first picked up an instrument, and I look forward to meeting and working with you all soon!
