For my beginning violin students, I have found the Essential Elements Series to be highly effective, as well as the Suzuki methodology. All lessons will typically start with scales/arpeggios and be followed with the selected piece(s) we have chosen together. All of my students will attest that I set clear and high expectations for every lesson, yet am very understanding, friendly and approachable right from the start. My goal is to provide every individual with the tools necessary for becoming a well-rounded musician, so that they too can share their love for music with others.
About Michael
Beginning his cello instruction at the age of 8, Michael spent the majority of his early years under the guidance of Nancy Hambleton-Torrente, current director of music for the Yorktown public school districts in Westchester county. During his undergraduate years, he attended Colgate University whe

“Learning is becoming more aware." My favorite Dorothy Delay quote and one that I implement in my studio. By observing, hypothesizing, deducting, and problem-solving, my students will gain the skills needed not only to succeed in music, but also in every stage of life. I offer both lessons and coachings, in which we will cover violin technique (intonation, sound, phrasing, musicality, performance technique, audition preparation, etc.), and basic music theory (musical forms, rhythm, compositional techniques, etc.)
Lessons are tailored to the students individual levels and needs.
Looking forward to hearing from you!!
