Private Acting Teacher

Hello! I am an actress, vocalist, pianist, director and teacher. I have a lifetime of experience in the performing arts (I started performing at 6 years of age) and many years teaching theater arts and music! I have taught many students of all ages and levels in private, public and workshop environments. What are you looking for? If one of the answers to this question is a teacher who truly understands how to communicate in a fun and understanding way - then let my years of experience help you to achieve your goals!! I specialize in exploring who you are as a performing artist; audition preparation; and acting skills including improvisation, theater games, monologue choice and character analysis. I am proud to announce that one of my recent students just got into Emerson's acting program! So if you are interested in seeing if acting is for you, continuing your studies or are preparing for that important audition...you've come to the right place! A winning part for you!!!

About Sharon

Sharon knew at a very young age that the arts were her life and doesn't remember a time when she wasn't singing, dancing and acting. She began her professional singing and acting career at the age of six years old and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She plays the piano and is a

Sharon is friendly, supportive and super encouraging. She moves at the student’s pace, and keeps a good handle on the progression of the lesson, so that you get a good chunk of instruction/learning while not being overwhelmed. I’m a newbie at music instruction, and Sharon was wonderful in every aspect for someone starting like me. I’m sure she’d be just as fabulous for a more experienced piano player.

Fantastic first lesson. Sharon is great to work with. She explains the process and then we get right into the music and vocals. She's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.

Sharon is a lovely and outgoing woman. I’m new to piano and reading music, but she is so patient and encouraging. I’d recommend her to a piano newbie like myself. She also has the cutest pup that keeps us company during the lessons.

I have been literally to 4 youtube teachers and though I have nothing bad to say about any of them, i know that I need a long term teacher that I can see myself growing with as a singer. Our personalities just meshed. She knows how to make one feel comfortable. She is very encouraging to students with zero self confidence like me. I think I have found the teacher I’ve been looking for in Elena! i’m excited to see what she can do to transform my voice. Her resume as well as her reviews( students spoke highly of her character) are what stood out for me out of thousands of teachers online! It is also important that I love to listen to my teacher’s voice and i love her voice😊

Acting with ease is mostly about really being relaxed and at peace while fulfilling a role. The best acting comes from having passion and confidence in the choices that you have made while you have prepared. The greatest obstacle? The inner critic, the inner skeptic, the inner dragon that works hard to put on the breaks and make us question ourselves and whether it is safe or not to let go. My job is to help you feel safe enough to be able to trust your creative instincts and your natural impulses. I'm more of a kind, compassionate, understanding and forgiving coach who nurtures the talent that is already in there. We all know you've got it -- who are we kidding?

"My very first acting lesson was with Kelsey. Going into it, I was extremely nervous because I had no prior experience at all. However, upon meeting her, Kelsey showed me the most amazing kindness and patience as she molded me into a much better actor, as well as speaker. She knows exactly how to make her students feel as comfortable as possible around her. She is very funny and personable, and an overall pleasure to have as a teacher and coach. I'm still in her class now, and so far I can tell a huge difference in how far I've come 100% due to her. I would definitely recommend her to any aspiring actor at any level. Thanks Kelsey!"

I've been lucky to have great experiences with actors because of what Amelia has taught me about acting, and understanding how actors prepare a project. What a wonderful way to start out learning the craft of filmmaking and acting other than with a teacher who will be go the extra mile to help and fight for her students."

They are tedious, and most of the time, it's ridiculously hard to find the right one.
