I have been teaching for 4 years and I use the Suzuki Method and other methods that I think would be beneficial for my students. No matter if you just want to learn for fun or you want to study music in college, we can talk about your goals for learning the violin.

I've taught violin for over ten+ years to hundreds of happy students of all ages. I promise you'll have an exciting and fun first lesson! My violin playing has been featured with Kevin Olusola (Pentatonix, "Heart Attack"), Glee, Perla Batalla (Leonard Cohen), and featured on dozens of records with dozens of LA artists (Hayley Kiyoko, Zac Poor, REO, Yore). I have a BFA Performer Composer degree from the California Institute of the Arts, I graduated in 2012.

I focus on the Suzuki method with an emphasis on technique, rhythm, and sight reading. If you are looking for a teacher with a fun, fresh perspective on learning the violin, I'm your guy!

I bring my range of experience and love of music to everyone lesson and hope to enrich the students lives by showing them the joy of music. I think playing is a lot of work but should always be fulfilling and enjoyable. I bring that mindset to every lesson.

Experienced and well rounded musician. Just graduated from New England Conservatory with Masters in Voice Performance. Performed recently as Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide and Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute.

Also trained in violin (15 years) and piano (10 years), and have experience tutoring music theory and keyboard harmony at the undergrad level.

I love playing in orchestra and chamber ensembles, and will gladly play with you to work on listening and musicianship as well as technique and fundamentals. We can also work on playing by ear, and can address all different types of repertoire!

Violin lessons give students self-confidence, independence and boost academic levels. They also have numerous other benefits in coordination of motor skills, reading and enhanced concentration. When you begin your lessons with me, you will learn proper left hand technique as well as bowing. Also included is violin music theory, sight reading, note reading and most importantly, the enjoyment of music! Since I have decades of experience teaching both Traditional and Suzuki methods, you will learn to play songs almost immediately. I teach at all levels-- beginning, intermediate and advanced violin students. I have many years of experience teaching in public schools as an orchestra director and small group instructor as well as private instructor of violin, viola, cello and string bass since 1973. I graduated from Ithaca College School of Music and the University of Bridgeport, CT, in Music Ed and Fine Arts and have brought scores of students to both solo and orchestral ...

I have been teaching children of all age groups to acquire a solid foundation in violin playing. Whether it be pre-K beginners, or high school students getting ready for college auditions, I will communicate with the students and parents to set a number of goals to achieve.
I also welcome adult students, beginners and amateur enthusiasts alike.

In addition to gaining expertise in the techniques in violin playing, students in my studio will be given opportunities to gain comprehensive music knowledge including theory, sight singing, ear training, and any relevant music history, as the above-mentioned knowledge are indispensable elements in violin playing. Singing and clapping are essential parts of the lesson. When students are equipped with the basics, they can play anything and make the music they want.
