About Jill
I have been studying the singing voice for 18 years, and am highly trained to teach all voices, now including transgender singers! I recently attained my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy, as well as certification to teach contemporary styles from Shenandoah Conservatory’s CCM Vocal Institute. I have a growing voice studio online and at my home, and I teach most genres, including musical theatre (including belting), pop, rock (including scream/distortion), R&B, jazz, folk, classical/opera, and choral. With 10 years' experience as a music educator, I've taught a wide range of music, including private voice lessons, children’s group classes for voice and piano, directing summer music and Glee! camps, directing youth and adult choirs, directing and accompanying worship music, and vocal directing musical theater shows.

I stri
ve to help my students achieve their musical goals; some accomplishments include: get cast in lead and paid roles for musical theater shows, prepare for choir performances and college auditions, qualify for Regional and All-State Choirs, and how to belt out your favorite karaoke song without strain! I truly believe that a strong technical foundation not only makes singing in any genre possible, but ensures healthy singing habits for life. I am committed to helping my students find their unique voice and share that voice with the world.

I only work with singers of ages 12+ in my private voice studio because I believe that younger children receive the most benefit by singing in a choir with their peers, rather than taking private lessons for their young, under-developed voices. Better instrument options for private lessons for younger children are piano, violin, or guitar - which in order to play, require finger coordination and theory comprehension. I assign music theory and ear-training exercises to my voice students during lessons, as being able to read music well is essential to becoming a well-rounded, independent musician.

Learning piano late in life!

It has been such a pleasant experience to take lessons from Jill. She is very positive and easy to understand in her instruction. I am a beginner in piano, and I feel I have learned a lot after only 3 lessons. She would be a wonderful piano teacher, no matter what your age!

Hello! I'm Madeline, and I'm a vocal instructor, beginner-piano teacher, and music theory tutor. I've been a tutor since Fall 2014, and teaching private voice lessons since January 2015. I love introducing students to new repertoire, showing them a different way of looking at concepts, and helping students realize how smart and talented they are. Madeline is exceptionally talented, both as a singer and as a teacher. She improved my technique and performance skills, and her insights into how to approach every piece of music I brought her were invaluable. I could not have asked for a better instructor!

Madeline was my 9 year old daughter’s piano teacher for 18 months.
From the beginning Madeline connected with my daughter and put her at ease as she started her piano experience. Madeline’s choice of music books, songs and her teaching techniques allowed my daughter to learn the fundamentals from the beginning and progress with time.
Both my daughter and I appreciated Madeline’s devotion to her students and her responsibilities to the parents in terms of up to date communications, suggestions for improvements, etc.
We are sorry to see her moving away but wish her all the best!

Madeline is wonderful! My 12 year old daughter felt comfortable with her right away and has come so far in just a few weeks. Her confidence has grown so much, and her chorus director has noticed a difference already.

I have been twirling for almost 30 years, and I have taught all different age levels. I have numerous resources for inspiration, questions, and material. I was the captain at the University of Arizona, and I currently have my own team here in Texas. I find students these days learn best when they have an individualized approach to teaching. We follow a curriculum, but we always tailor the program to the child. My own child needs extra attention when it comes to youth sports, so I have learned techniques to teaching children with disabilities. I have trained many twirlers who have gone on to win titles, and I have worked with Elite twirlers to help them perform and compete effectively. My goal is to create more coaches through my teaching and grow the sport of baton twirling.

Efrat is a wonderful teacher! I was really nervous about learning Avid since it always seemed like such a difficult tool. Lessons were super professional and concise, and she quickly got me to speed on anything I needed to know to get comfortable with it. After a few lessons with Efrat I totally felt like I can work on it on my own and actually know what I'm doing. Highly recommend!
