I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese since 2014 with a unique method called TPR, i.e. Total Physical Response.

In the class, you will learn to understand and speak the language through your senses, like a child learning the mother tongue.

This is the most natural way for us to learn any language, through seeing, touching, smelling, listening, even tasting!

There are many games and fun activities in my lessons that would engage you to speak and eventually enable you to communicate with native speakers at ease!

I encourage my students (age 5-80) to speak shamelessly and laugh with me.

I was born in Canton, China. I am a native speaker of both Cantonese and Mandarin. I am certified to teach Chinese in China. I passed my PSC (Putonghua Proficiency Test) at level 2-A in 2013. I enjoy helping you via correcting pronunciation, and grammar, and sentence comprehension, as well as introducing fantastic Chinese culture. Currently, I am finishing my Master of Music Performance.

I know how to engage, encourage, and motivate my students. I push my students just the right amount by exploiting their strengths and supporting any weaknesses.

As a fully qualified Chinese teacher I have been teaching Mandarin for 16 years in both China and the United States. I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of Mandarin skills.

For adult learners, speaking Chinese does not seem easy, but I can help you understand and master the tones of the Chinese phonetic alphabet in a short time. Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and, as time goes by, you'll be able to use Mandarin like a pro!

For young learners, we can start by recognizing the Chinese characters, or singing Chinese children's songs.

If you are an advanced Chinese learner, we can practise reading some Chinese articles and discuss the topics. I also specialize in Chinese writing so, if you need to improve your writing skills, I can help you.
