Shauna is spectacular! She is a highly experienced acting teacher and super knowledgeable. She creates a safe and comfortable space yet still challenges you to be a great actor. I’ve had many acting teachers and she is at the very top! She helps me with private vocal work and I also take her scene class. Excellent excellent teacher - can’t recommend her highly enough!
Karen
I decided to to acting lessons after 35 years of NO acting. I loved Shauna’s class and highly recommend her as a teacher. She had amazing improv exercises that led up to great monologues and scene work. Her criticism and suggestions were firm yet very encouraging and constructive. It was a very good experience. She is extremely knowledgeable
Joan
I had the great good fortune to hear about Shauna last year and have been taking an acting class with her on Zoom since then. She works with all levels and has a keen eye, kind heart, and gentle way of bringing every level of actor to a deeper, genuine way of expression with layer upon layer of development of character. Her classes have also included a wide range of exercises to connect us with our voice and body, something I had not had the benefit of getting in other scene study classes and workshops. I'm looking forward to studying with her in person. I wish I'd have found her sooner!

Graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. I begin teaching with the fundamentals of healthy technique. While I am trained in and teach bel canto/classical voice, I believe the fundamentals of healthy, relaxed singing are useful in any genre and in ensemble singing. By freeing the voice in this way: singing feels easier, the tone becomes more colorful, and the singer is able to truly express the message of the song.

I believe that voice lessons are for everybody! Through voice lessons, we form valuable mind-body connections, gain confidence, and blow off steam. The ability to express is a valuable life skill, as is thinking creatively, and singing lessons cultivate these skills. Through singing, we grow as people, and become more in touch with ourselves and the world around us.

I have experience teaching all ages, from young beginners to advanced collegiate performers. I have taught a wide variety of styles and genres, including classical, musical theatre, jazz, pop, and rock. I believe in teaching holistically- using the whole body and mind in sound production

For many years I sang in my school Chamber Choir and took voice lessons. The choir performed regularly in pubic and in statewide competitions. I also have years of experience teaching the basics of singing in a low pressure way.
Topics we learn about include breathing and breath control, pitch and intervals, keys and scales and singing harmony. I can accompany a student while they sing, and hopefully teach them the basics of accompanying themselves.

I searched for an excellent upright bass teacher for a good while. Then I found David Lloyd. David is patient, humorous, friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He carefully taught me all the necessary groundwork to enable me to continue on my own for a while. In a few months I will, without question, continue my studies with David. I would, without hesitation, recommend David to anyone interested in seriously studying the Upright Bass.

"As a 59 year old man, with a teenage desire to sing, Glen has allowed me to take the time to develop the confidence it takes to sing. His ability to not have me become an exact clone of the artist has allowed me to take my singing style and make the song my own. Glen has allowed me to become comfortable in my journey."

"My 11 year old worked once 45 minutes weekly with Candid for approximately 5 weeks practicing a couple English songs she was familiar with and two Portuguese songs that were new to her (she does not speak Portuguese). It was incredibly rewarding to witness her skills develop in such a short period, as well as her self-confidence and self image. She is half Brazilian, and she was so proud to relate with her Papai—Daddy—in his language. I also had the pleasure to virtually attend an online concert of Candid’s adult and younger students. Her rapport was beautiful with the patchwork of her student body—an eclectic group whose skills filled the spectrum, but whose passion burned bright as one. I highly recommend Candid as a teacher. I will note that she did classes online, and I encouraged practice between classes. She did not solely rely on the weekly classes as a means for learning and improvement. Her skills improved steadily over the five weeks with the guidance and careful coaching of Candid’s classes. Practice between classes was essential to make the most out of all Candid has to offer."
