As everyone is different with different goals, ages, and levels of proficiency so to is my method of instruction for each individual... Beginners will expect to quickly begin enjoying the instrument without intimidation by it ... they will learn... 1. Proper left and right hand, arm, and body positioning. 2. Proper (not common !) pick grip and angles. 3. Strongly "suggested" reading of music. 4. How to play notes and first position chords. 5. Rhythm focus to play along with all previously listed to some of their favorite songs... An intermediate to advanced Classical student may expect a doses of technique, sight reading, and theory within a particular lesson for say, ABRSM exam prep.. An Intermediate to Advanced Blues, Rock, or Shred student may expect more focus on scale and arpeggio applications for improvisation.

Don was wonderful with our son Brett, who enjoyed his first lesson immensely. We are definitely in this for the long haul with Don! He was very patient and very attentive to Brett.

Had a great first lesson with Don. I believe I will progress nicely under his tutelage. Already have a lot to work on.

Years ago I took Guitar Lessons at a local music store ( a very prominent one) as a raw beginner and quickly became frustrated with my lack of progress. Although my teacher was a great player and "very hot" to look at I soon began to feel like I was merely his "practice dummy."... I'd play the chords he showed me, endlessly,... while he seemed to be just practicing his solo playing. ... I then tried On-Line Lessons from various sites which were actually even less helpful and soon just lost interest completely.
A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

My name is Robert and I am 20 year old music student at Belmont. I have been playing guitar for over 11 years and have 6 years of study at a university level under my belt. I have studied jazz at the university of North Texas as well as the Fine Arts Center in Greenville SC. I have taken from numerous well known guitar players and teachers since middle school and have gained many different teaching methods through these experiences. My young age I find helps me connect with younger students and makes me less intimidating and easier and more fun to work with. My lessons are very student driven and I want you to get out of them exactly what you want. I have a lot of professional experience in Nashville playing in studio sessions for various artist and playing shows along the east coast with various bands. I can give students a university level teacher for a fraction of the price!

I've been playing and performing on Guitar for about ten years. I play a multitude of different styles and genres, including rock, country, r&b, jazz, blues, metal, funk, motown, along with many others.

My teaching approach is relatively simple; I work to empower you to approach and play your own instrument through rhythm, moderate music theory, as well as fretboard theory and picking/plucking styles. I also like to do practical application studies, i.e., using songs you're interested in learning to apply new techniques.

Most importantly, we progress at your pace and yours alone. If there's something very specific you'd like to accomplish, we can most certainly do that, or if you want to improve upon your general approach and method, that is also something I am available for.

About Tyler

Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I

Tyler arrived early, spent lots of time with my unruly daughter, and kept her on track! He's a good combination of fun/playful but also has a natural authority so that my daughter actually listens to his instruction. Well done and thank you Tyler!

Great first lesson - looking forward to the next one.
Nicolas O.
I feel like I learned a lot in an hour and he really helped me find an anchor point that I can go back to if I am stuck on a note. I realized that he went over every proven method that I learned throughout my experiences from elementary school to highschool and then added on to them by explaining how these methods help. He even showed me methods usually taught to college musicians.

The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.

I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.

I am so excited to work with your child! Our classes are upbeat and fun! We use songs that are familiar to the student as a part of the learning process, to make learning fun! The more fun we have, the more the desire to learn and the ability to grow in our instrument!

Guitar classes also include music theory education. I teach the full instrument, so the music education received in guitar lessons will also carry into other musical instruments. Students learn how to read lead sheets and sheet music. In addition to guitar techniques, students also learn how to tune and care for their instrument so that their instrument can be kept in the best shape possible for longevity.

Thank you for choosing me as your teacher! I look forward to working with your child! I have new students signing up daily, so please sign up today to reserve the best time for your schedule! Thank you!
