I've been teaching piano for over 11+ years. My teaching style is we go at the pace you want to go. I let the student tell me what their goals are, and we work around it.

My philosophy: everyone is their own person. No one is built the same!

About Kate
I graduated from UTSA in the Fall of 2008, with a Bachelor of Music with a Vocal and Piano Emphasis. I have been teaching private piano and voice for 11+ years. I am fun, energetic, and patient. It brings me such joy to be able to teach children something I am so passionate about!

*** Lesson Details ***
Students need to practice 15 minutes a day. They are required to complete everything that is assigned to them that week, and be prepared for their lessons for the following week. A beginner usually in 3-6 months should be familiar with reading the basic treble and bass clef staff, be familiar with dynamic markings, beginning to understand basic music theory, tempo and minimal sight reading. Voice students study basic vocal technique, and learning to sing properly.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I usually provide the books after the paren
ts have paid for them. They should have their own instrument to work with.

*** Specialties ***
I use the Alfred method for piano.

Within minutes, I could tell that she was a very haopy person and that I would have no problem talking with her. She also challenged me to sing outside my range. I felt unsure but she encouraged me and I did okay. I can't wait for my next lesson.

I have 13 years of teaching experience. The lessons are molded to what you want to accomplish, and I will push you to make that happen. My own goals with each student is that they play with proper technique, understand music theory, read sheet music, are able to sight read, develop their ears, appreciate different genres of music, and most important of all, that they play from the heart. I specialize in classical music but I believe that this is the basis of all types of music and through this I can teach you any genre. I always tell my students that I can't do all the magic myself, they have to put forth the effort too. You get out of it what you put in it. I always want to have a good time and hope that you can join me in it! Please contact me with any questions.

About Xavier
I am a professional pianist, vocal coach and organist. I am originally from Puerto Rico, were I got my Bachelors in Music Performance with a specialization in piano from the Conservatory of Music in P.R. and have two Masters of Music from Eastern Michigan University, in Piano Perfomance, and The University of Michigan, in Collaborative Piano.

My philosophy has always been to ask the student what he/she wants to accomplish with their piano studies and then come up with a plan to accomplish this. Pair that with my teachings of proper technique and becoming a well rounded musician which includes: sheet music reading, music theory, sight reading, ear training and playing from the heart and you have the perfect formula for success. But the secret ingredient is always the effort that you put in to get better, without that you will not get be
tter.

As a pianist I do a lot of freelance work with singers and instrumentalists. Working with them for their concerts/recitals, competitions and recordings. I work also with middle/high school students as the choir accompanist for the Bowling Green City Schools in Ohio. I perform my organist duties at Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania, OH.

I have a small private studio that I teach from home and looking to expand it with online lessons and with you. I look forward to working with you and helping you accomplish your musical goals whether that is in classical or any other genre, I am here for you.

Mr Suarez has been teaching my 9 year old for just over 2 months. My son was excited about piano before we started, but now he loves it even more. He practices every single day without being told. Mr Suarez is patient, kind and teaches supportively with humor. He pushes just enough to make my son want to be better, without making him feel bad about his performance, should he be struggling. I highly recommend Mr. Suarez.

Giving people the tools to create music is truely my passion! I started playing the piano at a very young age, and I see great value in teaching people an instrument. In 2009 I started offering lessons locally and now I am looking to expand my business online. I specialize in beginner/intermediate piano lessons and I have had experience working with special needs kids.

About Elizabeth
I have been playing the piano for 30 years. Music is my passion! I have worked with worship teams as the pianist /keyboardist at various churches for almost 20 years, 9 of those years I was the music/worship director. I have worked with a traveling group of musicians, teaching music theory, musical performance, song writing, and basic instruction on an instrument. We recorded six albums of original music during my time with the group. I went on to teach on my own, focusing on music theory, and piano to elementary, jr. high, sr. high, and college aged students. I began teaching piano in 2009 and it quickly became the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had. I have taught kids as young as 5, and while I especially enjoy working with beginner students, I have enjoyed working with the intermediate students who have come my way as well. I also ha
ve experience working with kids who have special needs, including those who are on the Autism spectrum.

In my 25 years as a pianist and 7 years of professional teaching experience since receiving my Master of Music degree, I have never encountered one musician quite like any other. As your piano teacher, I will help you to cultivate a positive relationship with the instrument, develop strong musical foundations, all while bringing out your unique musical passions and strengths along the way. Learning to play piano well is no small undertaking, and will inevitably involve both highs and lows. I am here to help you create the conditions in your practice to increase the frequency of highs, and to coach you on getting through any lows without giving up. With routine and persistence, nothing can stop you from succeeding to achieve this goal!

About Jonathan
I've been playing the piano for 25 years. I started out at age 9, self-teaching myself through improvising and composing for 4 years before I took my first piano lesson. When I was 14, I heard a full recording of Beethoven's 5th and 6th Symphonies and fell head over heels in love with classical music. I went to college for music and received Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano and Composition, then went on to receive a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan, one of the top music schools in the country.

As a pianist, I have been featured as a guest artist at the University of Michigan, Washington and Lee University, Sweet Briar College, Garth Newel Music Center, and was presented on the Distinguished Alumni Recital Series at Western Michigan University. I have performed concertos under the batons of Eli
m Chan, Michael Haithcock, Shane Lynch, and Mark Taylor. As a composer, I have been commissioned to write works for the New Jersey Music Teachers Association, the Garth Newel Quartet, and Latitude 49. Most recently, I adopted the alias Jonathan Aidan to produce solar powered electronic music for yoga. Salute the Sun, the debut album for this project, was released on Earth Day 2018.

Over the last 7 years of teaching professionally, I have fallen in love with teaching and enjoy working with students of all ages and levels. I encourage my students to balance their practice time between fundamentals (i.e. scales, graded method books, theory), and passion projects (i.e. what do you REALLY want to play?). I also like to teach applied improvisation, in which you use the music theory you are learning to create your own original music. With this approach, you will establish strong and flexible foundations on which you can learn to master the music you are most passionate about.

Students should expect to budget routine practice time between lessons into their schedule. We will work together to devise a practice plan that will work for you. I will hold you accountable to the practice and achievement goals each week so that you can make the most out of the time and money your are investing in music lessons.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your musical goals!

The music that student’s wish to learn always takes priority. It is the goals of the student which drive their motivation to learn and which I enjoy most as a teacher.

Content is always aimed toward the student’s goals. Lessons include equal focus on all areas necessary to successful performance, including technique, reading, and theory, as well as history and stylistic accuracy.

About Ryan
I have been a professional musician for over 12 years, playing anywhere from the piano bench of a cozy jazz club to the organ bench in giant cathedral churches.

I have enjoyed performing and teaching all styles of music - whatever style it is you wish to play, I have probably done it myself at some point during my career.

As a teacher, I have enjoyed working with students of all ages and all levels, from absolute beginner to seasoned professionals.
