Mastering fundamentals is extremely important when learning a language. I will tailor the lesson to your needs. We'll begin with mastering the sounds of each letter, then move on to common words, phrases, and simple conversations. Whether it's for travel, leisure, or work, practicing is key. Once you get your footing, we'll expand your vocabulary and understanding of grammar.

About Joy
I am a graduate of UC San Diego (bachelor of arts, sociology) and UCLA (master of public policy). As a child of immigrant parents, I value diversity and love learning languages. I read, write and speak Spanish fluently, and have intermediate command of both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese in reading, writing, and speech.

Photography has been one of my main areas of focus for over ten years. I am trained in both film and digital formats and specialize in demystifying the DSLR so that you gain a good understanding of manual settings and how to use each to improve your photos.

Caring, compassion, and understanding are essential for learning and I strive to do my best in these areas.

About my classes:

I strive to provide the best, most interactive online Spanish classes for every student. We will discuss your needs and obtainable goals so that I can personalize your course material in order to reach them.

If you need Spanish for a specific industry, such as healthcare, travel, academic purposes, relocation or business, I can prepare the necessary materials as well.

Additional information about my experience:

I have been teaching for 8 years and have taught hundreds of students. I have lived in Mexico and Central America and I have traveled extensively throughout many Spanish speaking countries. Combined with my education, qualifications, and teaching experience, living and traveling throughout Latin America has given me the opportunity to experience regional language differences and share that additional knowledge with my students.

Many of my students have gone on to travel, relocate or retire within Latin America, greatly improved their grades in ...

About Sara
I offer online classes in Spanish, English language (ESL/EFL), TOEFL exam prep and writing. I have taught students from age 3 to senior citizens. I have experience teaching in language centers, bilingual schools and in companies.

I have a TEFL diploma, TBE (Teacher of Business English) Certificate, BA in English Language Learner Studies with a minor in History and an MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology with a specialization as an online educator. Currently, I am pursuing my second MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I begin with new student by identifying their priorities and then setting a SMART goal. Based on the timeline, I make an action plan that we follow so the student can see progress in each and every class. We reevaluate goals and materials as needed.

To make the online classes more interesting and effec
tive, we will use slides to collaborate on the materials together. This allows us to communicate in real time and the information is saved to the drive, so it is easily accessible from any computer, smartphone or tablet.

We can import images, verb charts, worksheets, PDF and doc files, ebooks and videos as needed. Using the tools, you and I will both be able to edit, write and draw on the materials and add any additional notes, links or resources during or between classes.

Please don't hesitate to use the "Ask a question" feature to contact me with any special circumstances or concerns.

I've taught Spanish for several years now. Not only have I studied Spanish myself, but I lived in Peru and Mexico for several years, as well as traveled extensively around Latin America, gaining complete fluency. With a focus on conversational Spanish, I offer Basic (A1), Pre-Intermediate (A2), and Intermediate (B1 & B2). You will be able to have a full conversation in Spanish by the end of your first lesson!

About Jackie
Hi there! My name is Jackie, and I have nearly 20 years of experience in teaching. All of my students, meaning a perfect 100%, have improved their grades by at least one letter grade, if not more, and passed every one of their tests and exams. I help all my students reach their goals.

The feedback I often receive from my students is that I made learning an enjoyable experience—they want to work harder to advance quickly in their classes. All of my students agree that I have a lot of patience and turn even the most challenging lessons into ones of positivity and encouragement. I provide critical feedback in the most constructive of ways that help the students reach conclusions on their own. I enjoy being there to support and guide their experience.

Basically, I love teaching. I'm enthusiastic yet patient, and I absolutely adore helpi
ng kids and adults alike learn. It's such a sense of accomplishment when my students show off their terrific grades. I see the same look in my students’ eyes regardless of age—that pride that shines from within, that exuberant smile, like they can conquer anything. I want my students to keep that pride for a long, long time.

Right now, I’m working on self-publishing a Spanish conversation textbook for beginning students and am writing an intermediate-level Spanish conversation textbook. I've also written several academic articles published online. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, playing with my cat, and swimming.

UPDATE
02/2019 TakeLessons will be rolling out a new English language video series that I am in! I'll share the videos on this page as soon as they go live.

Test your knowledge and have lessons geared to your needs.

About Virginia
Welcome to Takelessons.com! There are many lovely teachers on this site. I am here to help you succeed. I offer English, Writing, Piano, Math, Test Preparation, Dissertation writing, and Homework help.

Music: I can offer you a well rounded plan of study and you can choose what and how you would like to learn. For example, young students generally want to learn to read the notes. For these I give classes in theory, music history, ear training, and technique along with the note reading. Older students generally want to learn to play songs they know by learning notes in the right hand and putting chords in the left hand. For these students, I emphasize the theory so they will understand what notes go together to make a nice sound.

My background has been in church music. I started playing at church for services when I was 16 years old.

Not only would you be taking lessons with a native Spanish speaker but also one that took formal Spanish and got a 5 on the AP exam in 9th grade!

I have always been great with languages. I taught myself how to read Spanish when I was only 7 years old.

I have experience working with children and adults from beginner up to advanced levels.

Depending on what you need the lessons for us the approach I will take.
We can follow a conversational class or a more technical and grammatical approach.
We will use what you are learning and create real life situations as well because I found that helps with memory retention.

I provide a customized approach to make sure that you get what you need out of each lesson.
There is always open communication so if we find one aspect works better than another that is what we will do.

My goal is your success and happiness.

I look forward to speaking Spanish with you!

I have volunteered at a center for a little over one teaching English to Spanish Speaker. I have also taught a few friends how to speak Spanish. Although I am not a native speaker, many people have said that I sound fluent and they even thought that I was a Native Spanish speaker. I have taught myself Spanish reading books, listening to music, and talking with some of my friends. I enjoy speaking. I accept anyone willing to learn Spanish. I will be teaching vocabulary and grammar. I would call myself a efficient teacher, because I teach at your speed, if you don't understand, I won't leave you confused and unprepared to speak Spanish. I also prefer to keep my teaching alive, even I believe that a boring teacher can be difficult to learn from. Most importantly: don't be afraid to ask questions (I don't judge, I just want you to learn) and don't be afraid to speak (It is important to be brave and speak, don't worry if you might be wrong you're learning. Speaking Spanish is a form of ...

About Lonnie
I am a non-Native Spanish speaker, but I really enjoy speaking Spanish. I have volunteered and taught several people how to speak Spanish and English. I have taken a Spanish Conversation class at University of South Alabama. I have an abundance of material that I use to enhance my own fluency in Spanish. All of the time that I have taught, I have learned to stay with my students. I prefer to teach slowly so that they will understand and learn. My goal is to teach my students to become successful. Honestly, I enjoy teaching. My dream is to become a licensed interpreter and travel to Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, etc. I am currently working on my dream by enrolling in University of North Alabama so I may earn a license.
Whatever your goals may be; being an interpreter, traveling, or even teaching as I am now. I encourage you to achieve your g
oals. Put your mind to it and you will achieve. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals. Who knows you might enjoy speaking Spanish as much as I do.
