Whether you are a parent looking for instruction for your child, or for yourself, Rachel can customize the right program that best suits your needs. Her students come from all walks of life and have different goals, but they all have one thing in common. They love performing and have the desire to be the best at their chosen craft (singing/acting).
Some students want to sing/act for themselves, others want to sing/act for a hobby, and others want to be professional performers. That's where Rachel comes in. No matter what your goals are, she can help. Rachel teaches her students how to become true artists without tearing them down and without taking away the part of them that makes them unique. She teaches healthy technique that is based off of the human anatomy; the science of how the body/mind works and how the body/mind can work as efficiently as possible while singing or acting.
Learning how to sing/act is a process and doesn't happen overnight. Rachel's ultimate goal as a teacher is to not only make her students the best performers and singers they can be, but also give them all of the proper tools they need to have a more productive mind frame and become self-sufficient. Of course this can take years to master. It takes time and dedication.
OTHER LESSON INFORMATION
SINGING: Bel Canto singing technique for the modern singer is taught in private and group classes. No one sounds like old opera singers, even if the student wants to sing opera. Students are allowed to choose most of the material they learn in the lesson. There will be times when Rachel will suggest a song to a student but if the student doesn't enjoy the song, they will work as a team to find a song that does work for the student. Gain a better tone quality, complete control of your voice, bigger range, more flexibility, and confidence. Learn healthy voice technique, how to fully take care of your own voice so you can sing for the rest of your life (even after lessons), and become a self sufficient performer for life.
ACTING: Stella Adler, Stanislavsky, Chekhov, and Meisner Acting Technique for Theatre/Camera is taught in private and group classes. All students are exposed to each technique and Rachel sees which technique each student responds to the most. Once the student and Rachel are able to identify the technique, Rachel continues to use the terminology of that technique for the remainder of the time the student is in lessons. Students eventually are able to play roles truthfully and realistically, even if the roles are opposite of the student's own personality.
BY THE TIME STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM LESSONS:
1. Gain a lifelong, solid, consistent, and healthy technique that they can always count on in practice and performance.
2. Gain specific technical and personal notes in a notebook and/or computer file that is organized and always accessible for review.
3. Gain artistry, performance skills, and a strong voice that will look/sound authentic; Singers will sound appropriate to whatever style of music they are singing. (No fake sound or look.) Actors will just be in the moment and truthful whether they are on stage or in front of the camera.
4. Gain the confidence to always put on a great performance.
5. Gain focus and a more productive mind frame.
6. Become self-sufficient by knowing how to assess a problem and then fix it without creating a new issue.

CANCELLATION: 48 hour lesson cancellation policy and emergencies (determined by Rachel) are handled on a case by case basis. All students (or their parents/guardian if under 18) who have scheduled vacations and other activities (meetings, parties, school shows, concerts, rehearsals...etc) that interfere with the student’s regularly scheduled lesson time, need to contact Rachel as soon as the vacation/other activity is scheduled but no later than two weeks in advanced before their missed regularly scheduled lesson to prevent from forfeiting the lesson.
MAKE-UPS: Make-Up lessons will be scheduled if time allows. No Make-Up lesson or class will be given to ‘no shows’ or “late cancellation”, and no extra time to extend their lesson will be given to students who are late to their lesson or class. If there is ever a time Rachel is running late, extra time will be given to make the lesson a full 60 minutes. If Rachel needs to reschedule, a Make-Up lesson will be scheduled as close to the same week as possible. Make-Up lessons are scheduled at Rachel’s discretion.
ONLINE LESSONS FOR IN-PERSON LESSON CLIENTS: In the event that the student is sick but still would like their lesson, an online lesson will be scheduled instead. Students can NOT come to their in person lesson sick, coughing, sneezing, with a runny nose, cold, flu, allergies, fever, etc. (This is to make sure no germs will be spread).
An online lesson will also be scheduled if there is bad weather, if a student is having car trouble, or any other reason for the student not being able to physically get to Rachel’s private studio during their normally scheduled lesson time. Online lessons are conducted through Classroom, FaceTime, Google, Hangouts, or Skype.
SCHEDULE: Lessons are weekly, on the same time/day of the week unless we have rescheduled or we have discussed in writing another lesson plan. If the student’s lesson falls on a holiday, we will either reschedule or if no other day is available, resume the following week.
LATENESS: If a student is going to be late they need to contact Rachel as soon as possible, to let her know they will be late. Lessons will end on time unless she is able to extend the lesson due to a late student or her schedule allows for it though please understand, Rachel would be extending a courtesy and would not be obligated to do so. If on the rare occasion Rachel is running late, she will always make up the time.
SITTING IN: Parents/Guardians are ONLY permitted to stay for the first lesson and are NOT permitted to sit in for any other lesson/class unless invited. This is to promote good/strong teacher-student relationship quickly and easily. Also, many times students feel more comfortable when their parents/guardians leave. Of course there will be times when the parent will be invited back in at the end of some of the lesson to showcase progress.
COMMUNICATION: Due to Rachel's normally scheduling students one right after another without breaks, being in the recording studio, performing, or being on set, the best way to contact her is through text AND email. Please ALWAYS leave messages when calling Rachel with your name, contact info, AND the reason you are calling. Please be specific. Thank you!
"I try to be as fair as possible to both parties when it comes to cancellations, rescheduling, lateness, and make ups. Have a concern or question? Just talk with me. I'm all about communication!" - Rachel
Racheal did a wonderful job helping my daughter with her stage presence.
January 29, 2018
My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

As a graduate of the Juilliard School and having performed worldwide, I want to share how fun, healthy and effective sing is possible with consistence and informed work! No matter your goals, lets build on the skills you already poses and confidence in your own abilities. Let's sing!
The key to great singing is enthusiasm, focus and some hard work. I have worked with students of all ages and my goal is to get you singing the right way and take you from shower diva to confident performer.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
As a professional singer and graduate of The Juilliard Sch
ool and working Opera singer, I have had the great fortune of training and performing with some of the best in the business.
With performances at Carnegie Hall and with major orchestras such as the Toronto, Vancouver and Seattle Symphonies and around the world, I feel this gives me a unique perspective on the challenges and successes that are possible with a fun, yet focused and healthy technique based approach. Whether a beginners, intermediate or advanced singers looking to hone your skills in musical theatre classical, jazz and even pop voice.
My goal is a well rounded, relaxed yet supported vocal tone with a focus on breath, and feeling rather than by ear. This ensures that no matter what the repertoire, the situation, or the acoustics of the room, you are always focused on healthy, articulate and projected singing.
Jonathan is a fantastic teacher! Having little prior singing experience, he made me feel at ease and comfortable starting out. He also really listened to my specific goals and what I was looking to achieve with these lessons and tailored the lesson to my individual needs. I would easily recommend Jonathan to anyone looking to work on their singing technique and confidence!
January 17, 2018
Lessons are fun and interesting with John! I have learned so many useful tips with John. He is the best and beyond. Take lessons with him!

Jonathan is a fantastic voice teacher. Not only can he sing incredibly well but he can teach incredibly well too. He has a very strong background in vocal technique with an Undergrad and Masters degree in voice. Can't wait to continue to progress with Jonathan's help.
I teach classical broadway as late as Andrew Lloyd Webber, focusing on the ballad aspects and legit singing.
Technique will be appropriate for this style while not compromising on beauty and finding a much broader range on expression beyond standard belting.
The Exquisite Voice, Inc.
Christine is a professional vocal coach with an exceptional reputation. She is the owner of The Exquisite Voice, Inc. Currently home in Springfield Va.
As a D.C. native, Christine has taught extensively in the DMV area for 10 years and is now taking her business/work to New York.
She is considered an expert in her field for achieving high quality vocal technique that can be implemented in all legitimate singing styles.
Christine is a fearless technician in the vocal arts, willing to put her knowledge and know how against the best in the field.
Achievable, high quality, professional results that captures and highlights a singer’s natural voice is what I am after because it brings the most joy to ourselves and to others.
Straightforward technique that removes uncertainty and doubt.
Learning to have authori
ty over your instrument to really grow into an individual artist and communicator.
Always honoring the instrument that a person has by guiding them to really learn the fullness of their abilities.
There is nothing more compelling than a voice that is natural and confident in their ability and accessing technique consistently is vital to creating this assurance and peace.
I am able to rapidly diagnosis a full range of vocal issues and begin to work towards strengthening deficient elements in relation and respect to the singer’s entire technique.
This will take time, but I make it clear exactly why this is the focus so we can work efficiently and cooperatively together.
It is important to reveal issues in a highly apparent manner, yet to be supportive and respectful of the student’s voice while motivating change to take place. I try to make it extremely clear through the exercises and rep I personally select to highlight a capability that is lacking by giving a student the right challenges where they can see they are not fully demonstrating a vocal element.
It often times is things they have been told in the past, but aren’t able to identify the problem due to lack of clarity clouded by other elements from past instruction or not provided the right tools to overcome their vocal issues in a realistic way that leads to continue success in their process. Meaning I really isolate and get to the heart of issues.
I have a signature method of highlighting issues and making corrections. I am very particular about explaining the process so that it makes sense to each student and can be accessible for them.
Another strength I have is I am able to identify the student’s learning style and am resourceful in the way I teach.
Together we will learn to develop a practical process and routine that works consistently for you based on your own personal needs as an artist.
The goal is that you will be able to instruct yourself successfully every time by thoroughly learning your instrument’s capabilities through care and guidance provided in our lessons.
I expect this from each student in their time, so that they can become confident in the choices they make to direct themselves. It is important to become independent since you are the one in control of your voice alone, and I intend to get you closer to that goal every lesson by making your voice more relatable to you by providing the proper understanding and resources to achieve this.
This is how world class musicians think, that they will be able to lead themselves in their process and trust their choices without too much worry after because the foundation and thoughtfulness to their decisions have already been made over time to where it is now intuitively inspired while performing. You can only access what you have trained (technical) or allowed (emotional).
Not only trust, but enjoy the freedom to do so. It might be a freighting concept to many, it was for me to think I must take full control, but you must eventually be assured about who you are and that you have more than enough to manage.
Something we will discuss a lot from the emotional standpoint, not allowing our fears or need/expectation to be perfect stand in our way of the bigger picture. We will develop a healthy relationship with our voice.
Every necessary element required for excellent singing will be explained. It is not possible in one or two lessons however.
It is real time and work. I do require you trust the process to a reasonable degree and know that I will always have your best intentions at heart. I have worked with many issues and types of people and have a lot of insight to pull from. Mostly people think their issues are unique, when in reality they are common. Nor do I get easily confused. So rest assure that your voice is always inspiring to me and I love to help people find more meaning in their art.
I can confidently say, almost more than any other instructor you have had we will thoroughly go over every element.
It is necessary that a student knows what is already amazing about their technique so they do not expel or replace it while working on their challenges. I cannot emphasis this enough. I have found this to be the biggest issue with passing on good instruction in the last 40 years from all institutes of voice.
Every voice comes in with something to build upon. There is not one voice, even the most challenging that doesn’t have an element right, it just might not be used appropriately while lacking all the other supportive elements, however it is there and that’s where we will start if that’s the case.
That’s why so many students, particularly very talented ones get lost in their training, because they do not realize that this has happened, so their natural abilities they cannot explain if they become teachers or professionals, which you must be able to explain everything or worst, they lose their natural ability and do not understand why.
This is also another fear of people who have natural ability, but if you have an instructor who understands you and these factors, you will be in good hands to find greater success vocally.
We need to identify our technique simply and readily every time in a way that we can articulate to ourselves.
This is a process and hard work (particularly emotional/reasonable expectation) is required on your end. More importantly developing trust for the process because what you do with your voice is up to you in the end alone and to displace that is neither helpful or honest. It is your voice! Always.
We will be doing honest work, look forward to it:D 💗💗💗
I am extremely generous as a teacher, you will come to find this is true. I promise to do my end of the deal and give you everything I have got in terms of my knowledge and insight, you just have to give yourself the opportunity to really commit to trying full heartedly. The lesson is for you. If I do not know something I say it.
I am a dramatic soprano and I have continued my vocal studies vigorously with Mrs. Fabian Bravo, a long term principal singer at The Met, who was taught formerly by Mr. Luciano Pavarotti.
I am very confident in the Italian Bel Canto technique and extensively in all popular genres, including jazz, ballads, R&B, Broadway, traditional, etc.
Technique I cover is creating legitimate support via fully integrating the body, while from the body’s relative support, applying highly efficient/directed air that is responsible for the quality of the voice’s capabilities and range of elements. Everything is created from these two fundamental elements.
We will also cover muscle release (throat, spine, tongue, facial, soft palate and accessing resonators directly, releasing the larynx and closing the vocal folds genuinely and appropriate air and relative use to the other elements, accessing legitimate chest and head voice, mixing/centering the voice appropriately with highly disciplined air and body support) legitimate dynamics with muscles released/throat open, accessing internal naturally covered space that can thoroughly release the voice through the skull and centered in which the air pressure/direction determines the dynamics, while not improperly closing the muscles or inappropriately moving the larynx/overly directing and dropping into one register, proper articulation that enhances/does not interrupt or cut off breath support/the body inappropriately/use of compressed air and direction that directly effects head voice, chest, middle mix access that most professionals do not have disciplined and create through other secondary means. This is more all equates to flexibility, strength and freedom to be endlessly expressive. Everything in balance and relation to become competent and proficient. The best part is really being able to enjoy your singing in the moment.
I have been singing opera for 7 years now, and Christine had the most thorough teaching process by far! I found my real voice underneath all the conformity I had been taught through choir and am now moving through singing more powerful and with my "real voice." She is open to workshopping repertoire that you are interested in, and suggests things that will help you grow your voice while not pushing an agenda, so you feel as though you have lots of artistic freedom.
Also just a super warm and authentic person. Overall a great experience!
May 12, 2019
Christine is extremely talented and provided me with positive yet technical feedback each practice.
February 17, 2019
Christine is a Godsend! Prior to working with her, I studied classical voice and opera with several instructors. Christine is by far the best teacher and wish I had met her sooner!
As an accomplished singer herself, she is able to identify challenging areas and help improve technique. I’m now attempting pieces with confidence that I never would have attempted previously. And, I find the sessions very relaxing and enjoyable. She inspired me to push myself further and feel like I’m getting great results! Well worth the investment.
Having sung on the Broadway stage, I can prepare you for your Broadway auditions and call-backs. Singing Broadway, you need to have a technique founded in healthy, supported singing. My lessons will give you the foundation to sing legit or belt.

Rosdeli has studied the Voice for 5 years at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary music. Her high level of musicianship continues to lead her to successfully sing in a variety of settings, from an intimate duo to fronting Big Band. Using highly developed vocal instruction methods, Rosdeli specializes in the development and control of the voice, focusing on techniques such as breath control, resonance, and posture. Being that no two voices are the same, Rosdeli listens to each individual student's voice and chooses vocal instructions for their specific voice.
Rosdeli is a Vocalist and Songwriter from Queens, New York. Rosdeli found her craft when she was introduced to Jazz. She has shared stages with artists such as Tony Bennett, Lalah Hathaway, and Wynton Marsalis & the JALC Orchestra. In 2016, she received the Downbeat Student Award for Outstanding Performance for Small Jazz Vocal Ensemble with her All-Female Band lead by Reggie Workman. Rosdeli has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Apollo, Lincoln Center, The Sheen Center, Rockwood Music Hall, Silvana, and many other great venues in NYC. Rosdeli recently graduated from The New School as a double major in Psychology and Jazz Vocal Performance and is a recipient of the Tony Bennett Scholarship.
Rosdeli will help you open your throat chakra like a flower, in the way it is meant to blossom. Being around her as my teacher in this setting is more than comforting, it is soothing, it feels natural.
Her methods make SENSE. The student receives immediate feedback from their own vocal channel. With her embodied notions of what she can hear and feel, she intuitively guides you into the direction of what needs to change - so you can open up more.
She is the greatest listener and she has taught me a lot with her listening alone. She is the only person I will ever train with again. Every voice lesson I had before hers was nothing close in comparison.

my lesson with Rosdeli was one of the best experiences with the music teacher I have ever had. She blends a keen sense of intuition unique for every student with a strong foundation of a wide variety of musical training and background. She is thorough , patient, and dedicated to the success of every student. She taught me
warm ups, how to control my voice, different methods of singing, projection, music theory, and ear training.
"I have been taking piano lessons and singing lessons from Amber for about a year. I have had big music dreams for most of my life, but have just recently
found the courage to give it a try. I was an absolute beginner in singing and had a few months experience with the piano. In both aspects, Amber has completely changed my life. I am more confident in my skills, I enjoy practicing, and I am starting to see a HUGE difference in my vocals and piano from when I started.
Amber asks you to put in work in order to achieve your musical goals. Follow her advice, and I promise you will not be disappointed. Before you know it, you will have gained skills in sight-reading, in breath support, in playing through distraction, in singing and playing with correct form, and in building confidence in yourself and your abilities. I love Amber, and I would choose her again and again if I could."
"awsome and caring"
"My experience with Stephanie has been exceptionally awesome and inspiring over the last year. She is sensitive, super positive, and full of light and ener
gy when it comes to guidance. I have never felt so confident as a singer, and though I still have a little bit to go before Broadway, I highly recommend her to anyone interested in rapidly developing or fine tuning their singing voice. She is also exceptionally talented as a singer herself and truly tailors sessions to really benefit your particular goals and vision for where you want to bloom as a singer."
"Awesome teacher! Has really helped me improve so far."
"Excellent instructor- does not tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. Invaluable in helping me prepare for first solo in a show ever.
Seriously considering long term lessons for real training."
"My husband has taken my daughter to her voice lessons these first three times, and I have heard great reviews from both my husband and daughter! I am so
