“In a career spanning more than 20 years, he has established himself as one of America's great under-the-radar songwriters. Had he emerged five decades back, he might have been a Tin Pan Alley stalwart, turning out intelligent, accessible songwriting with the clockwork genius of and Gary Goffin. His work is rife with the clever, incisive tunefulness that marked that era.”-- National Public Radio
*** Lesson Details *** Students can expect to discover or re-discover their love for music and and their own natural musical inclinations. Many students report an increased sense of joy and possibility in their own lives. After 3 to 6 months working with me, most students can feel comfortable calling themselves a musician!
*** Specialties *** I teach mainly guitar, keyboards, ukelele, and voice from beginning up to intermediate. I try to incorporate songwriting into the process as i find that it speeds up the process and helps to encourage enthusiasm and a more focused effort and better results. I came into the lesson with very little knowledge about guitar. Matt provided a simple road map for progress, and was patient through the drills. Within thirty minutes, I started seeing improvement. I very much look forward to my next lesson to see what the next steps will be - highly recommend.

*** Lesson Details *** I am a very laid back instructor, though the classes are very well structured.
Usually, we progress with a chosen curriculum according to the student's or parent's vision and initial overview during the 1st few classes. However, all curriculums are supplemented to enhance student performance and comprehension. Our supplemental material is used to go swifter for material that you grasp well and understand, and slower with more repetition for that that you need more practice, without being monotonous. It is also used to provide appropriate but exciting reinforcement of all material to ensure that material is retained.
We are forever updating material and also incorporate games and enhanced activities to keep lessons interesting and refreshing as well!
I also have experience in teaching autistic, ADD, ADHD and those with varying degrees of brain damage.

"Very helpful; took time to find out where I am and what I need. Lessons are immediately applicable to Sunday work. He has "patient ears"."
"Mark has been my teacher and mentor for over half of my life, and I could never have asked for a better teacher. He gave me tools to succeed in private st
udy and as a professional musician. He taught me to practice well and inspired my career path. Mark has an incredible capacity to identify his students' weaknesses and turn them into strengths. He will expect much of you and you will be better for it."
"I have been taking organ lessons from Mr. Raymond L. for a few months now. He has been nothing but friendly and patient. He is very understanding of dif
ficult schedules, and is very accommodating when I need to change my scheduled lesson.
Raymond L. is also an excellent teacher, requiring perfection on the practiced piece before he will allow you to move on. I appreciate this, seeing that slipshod foundations will only harm me later on. Apart from the technical books, he also assigns a variety of pieces to practice on - allowing for the practice of the different techniques, as well as keeping things fresh and interesting."
"I began taking on line Organ lessons with Stephanie in July of 2016. She is an excellent instructor. She makes you want to learn and do your best. She
is very patient and explains things very well. She asks that you practice 20 minutes a day. Since she inspires you to improve and do your best, it is easy to practice longer than requested. She has brought joy back into my life through music. I am very grateful."
"I cannot begin to express the depth of my enthusiasm and gratitude for Mark. He is a superlative teacher, being both exceptionally talented and dedicated
to excellence in the performing arts. Beyond this, Mark is always encouraging and gentle when I struggle to get it right. He provides the perfect mix of understanding, inspiration, and technical and artistic guidance."
"Thank you for a fabulous first lesson! He can’t weit for next week"
"Barbara is wonderful! She was patient and thorough. I LOVED my lesson."
There are many reasons why a music student may find themselves learning to play piano on a keyboard rather than on a baby grand: cost, space, or simply lack of access, for example. Versatility on a range of keyboard instruments is also an extremely useful string for any pianist to have to their bow, and can lead to greater practice and public performance opportunities, and even excellent opportunities to earn a little money on the side.
