Growing up in a musical household resulted in an early start to Eli’s musical career. It allowed him to become a studio and live drummer at the age of 14, and has been performing and recording ever since.

Selected for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts in high school he then continued his musical education by attaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Cincinnati College Conservatory of music.

Very good with young children

My son is 4 years old and has only had two sessions with Eli however, he does a very good job of communicating with him on his level and keeping his focus. He also has given him practice exercises which seem to do the trick.

Baritone Daniel Collins has performed at Carnegie Hall and with the Metropolitan Opera chorus in New York City. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas and earned both his Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from Florida State University. Dr. Collins was a finalist in the Dallas and El Paso Opera Guild Competitions, the NATS Singer of the Year Competition, and the NATSAA National Competition. He has performed in opera, concerts, and recitals throughout the United States and as a soloist at some of the most prestigious churches and synagogues in New York City and Washington, D.C. Dr. Collins was described by Tim Page with the Washington Post as a “funny, exuberant, and enormously likable” Papageno during Summer Opera Theater’s performance of The Magic Flu
te. The Post also celebrated him in Opera Theater of Northern Virginia’s The Barber of Seville as a “bright and bouncy” Figaro who delivered his lines with “aplomb.” He was a young artist in the studio programs of Portland Opera, Kentucky Opera, and El Paso Opera.

Though my time as a student with Dr. Dan was short, it was very valuable. Even though the lessons were about singing, it helped me gain a general confidence in myself regarding posture, and using a loud voice. He has given a number of exercises to develop my breathing, vibrato, tone, and lower registers to use on my own. Dr. Dan is a great teacher who makes the atomsphere of the lessons very friendly and I would highly recommend him!

I have been teaching trumpet, music theory, jazz harmony, jazz piano, and music composition to students of all ages since late 2008. I work very well with young, beginning students as well, and can teach all levels.

I am a touring trumpet player currently working with SAINT MOTEL, and have experiences performing and touring all over the world. In addition to excellent musical education, I apply lessons I have learned from travel that I find truly help as an educational supplement.

Working at UCLA for my degree in music performance has taught me what it takes to be a good teacher, and I am patient, understanding, and believe there's no greater feeling than watching my students flourish. Throughout my time at Berklee, NEC, and now Juilliard, I have studied with many great teachers and musicians from Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Henderson, Kenny Barron, Tiger Okoshi, John McNeil, and Laurie Frink to Jerry Bergonzi, and Miguel Zenon. The diverse subjects we went over in lessons and classes gives me a unique knowledge of certain styles and musical ideas. I try to be as personal and individual as I can when it comes to teaching students. That was the thing that stood out amongst my favorite teachers.

About David
At 28 years old, David Neves is one of the most active and exciting trumpet players in New York and Boston’s jazz scene. Neves was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Through this program, David had the privilege of studying and performing with some of the most accomplished and well-known jazz musicians in the world, including Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone. Neves then attended the prestigious New England Conservatory where he received his Master’s of Music in Jazz Performance.

A world-class musician, David’s talents have sent him all over the globe to venues such as the Tokyo Jazz Festival, Torino Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival, and the Newport Ja
zz Festival. In 2010, Neves traveled to Sydney, Australia, where he won first prize in the International Trumpet Guild’s Jazz Solo Competition. Recently, Neves was faculty at the 2016 Torino Jazz Festival where he conducted masterclasses, as well as the advanced ensemble that was featured at the festival, performing “April 14th, 2013” from his debut album, “Progress Report.”

In February 2014, David independently released Progress Report, his first full-length album as a leader and composer. This project debuts intriguing, all-original music, and David is joined by some of the finest young musicians in Boston and New York.

A recent recipient of the prestigious Artist Diploma in Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, Greg Gisbert, and Ben Wolfe; David is currently performing and teaching in the New York, and Boston areas.

My son takes piano from Amber and I cannot say enough on how talented she is. She has so much patience and cares about her students. He responds well to her and is learning so quickly! Greetings!

I am a current WSU student of Vocal Music Education with my principle instrument as voice (Tenor). I'm 25 years old, and a well rounded musician with a great sense of humor and a laid back attitude. This isn't to say that my lessons are all fun and games; there is a serious element to every session, but students have always give positive feedback in that they feel very comfortable with me.

I have been singing for 15 years and do so professionally in two churches, one of which I am the section leader of (Fort Street Presbyterian in Detroit). I am also the section leader of the WSU Concert Chorale, the audition level choir. For both voice and guitar, I have studied under numerous great men and women who have guided my practices to the point where I have began to pass my knowledge to others!

Dane is an excellent teacher to work with. You can get a lot accomplished with him any time you work with him. He'll make you feel super comfortable in your own abilities no matter what level you are, while also working with you towards realistic goals. He explains things very well and with patience. He'll treat you way more on a personal one on one level than anybody I've tried to work with thus far. Extremely understanding, and great teacher. 11/10.
