I took up harmonica when I started songwriting, about five years ago. Inspired by Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and other pop/rock acts, I incorporated diatonic harp playing into my original songs. I later picked up blues style playing, improvisation, and other techniques. I'm happy to share my skills and techniques with harmonica players of all skill levels.
I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums.
I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is what I'm passionate about and it's what I enjoy. I want to inspire that same passion into the hearts and minds of others.

I learned a lot from Eddie and his brother Alex about music and the music industry. (All you have to do is pay attention! ) I have played in bands from Hollywood to Toronto and back both as a singer songwriter and guitarist. I bring the Musicians Institute way to the table and get things up and ru

I do my very best to get you playing the songs you love in Pop, Rock, Jazz and Folk Music of your choice. Today's modern new guitars are easy to play and you will enjoy learning Guitar right away. That is how it should be. When you study there is a basic understanding of Guitar to be learned that allows an ease of use for anyone for years to come. This will help you reach your goal and improve each week. My students learn to practice in a way that feels comfortable and makes sense. This takes all the stress out of learning and gives everyone something to smile about and look forward to each week.

We'll cover harmony and fingerboard theory and give you a road map of the guitar neck that makes it a pleasure to play. You learn the basics and much more than you thought possible retaining 90 percent of what you learn!
Having been a student myself I was deeply involved in music since age 12 and played in bands and duos for over 15 years . I can help you to be a well rounded player and performer with a smile, a laugh and a joy for music whether your in a band or a budding solo artist.
*** Lesson Details *** Most students want to play the Guitar to play their favorite songs and I'm the same way. Music is something we carry with us in our hearts and minds. Students will learn what they wish to learn and work at a pace that is comfortable to them. Whether you are a student, “weekend warrior” or a parent whose child has expressed an interest in Guitar anyone can learn all there is to know about Harmony and Theory for the Guitar and how to play their favorite songs.
We cover theory in an easy and straightforward no nonsense way in the first half of each lesson and then apply it to the song you wish to learn. This creates an atmosphere where you understand and feel at home with the Guitar. You get an understanding right away and because it is immediately fun it allows you to feel comfortable at any level. Music is fun, and songs are the creative expression of what we feel. Combining theory and the freedom to play and sing songs allows us to express ourselves through music. After 6 months students will have a solid foundation in theory, and a road map of the guitar fretboard enabling them to advance to an intermediate level if they are ready to do so. Students will know enough that music as it relates to the Guitar, which is the world’s most popular instrument in contemporary music, is not a mystery but is a welcome friend. And they will be able to play songs by popular artists and advance at a pace that is satisfying and enjoyable. ----------------------------

James Walsh has helped me in more ways than can I could even imagine in the past 6 months I have trained with him. His challenges and ideas lit a creative spark in my mind, helping me express myself through playing the role of a character nicely (absolutely loving the accent practice i am being taught in). He has also provided a very therapeutic healing for my mental health, helping me to be more spontaneous and witty, instead of the wooden and mechanical person I once was.
James has a ridiculous amount of connections, resources and ideas at his hands, and gladly offers him to me to help me in my Method Acting. For those looking for a career in Acting, Comedy, or Film, James is definitely your man for opening several doors.
Throughout the months, he has been very supportive and encouraging, oftentimes doing welfare checkups on me throughout the week and showing me new ideas and techniques in film, acting and spontaneity. He demonstrates patience with learning curves, and gives good assignments to work on through the week for the next time you meet up. He also is understanding if you cannot make an appointment.
In terms of the actual classes, they are phenomenal. Many classes, when deliberately practicing, feel more like an actual In-the-moment conversation rather than a mechanical " Do this than that" layout. He gives a lot of good and fair feedback for improvement at the end of the class, and following the advice never failed to be right. Be prepared for time to fly, though, as 45 minutes will feel like 10, especially if you are REALLY in character and going back and forth with him on random topics, which almost make you feel like you have a hidden persona lol.
All in all, James is very experienced and skilled in teaching students of all walks of life, from aspiring actors/actresses to would be filmmakers to people simply looking to learn life skills that are invaluable to life, career, relationships and even mental health! There is something for all in this coach's teachings, provided you are wiling to put in the work. Phenomenal teacher and an all around great person!

James is a very caring teacher who took the time to get to know my strengths and weaknesses. He has many years of experience in this field and it shows in his lessons.
Thank you James for the training, I grew as a improv student from the time I worked with you. I utilized this class as a test for my profession (business) and am grateful that I selected you as a mentor/teacher. I am happy with the results and may be knocking on your door again down the road. Stay tuned.
I have been making music for over 15 years. I have a diverse background. I started out sampling, and sequencing all types of music back in the 90's. I made dance music, hiphop, RnB, rock, etc. I was more of a producer than performer then. Then I decided to go to school and get a degree in music. I went to Cal State San Marcos and obtained my bachelors in music. I developed into a fingerstyle guitarist while I was there. I also learned how to play the piano while I was there. But I concentrated on the acoustic guitar.
*** Specialties *** Blues, Folk, Rock, Country, Hip Hop, Soul, Indie, Electronic

***My goal as a teacher***
I try to teach what the students are interested in and make it fun and interesting so that they learn the lessons and their favorite songs. Every student is different and needs to be taught in a way that makes learning easy and fun for them.
I have a passion for all people and all ages and am blessed to be able to teach from the very young, (ages 2-5 Toddlermusik lessons) to teens and adults.....all the way to senior citizens. I've had many older students all the way up to a 93 year old gentleman who is taking singing lessons and asked me to put music to his lyrics. We have recorded over 50 songs together.
I started playing trumpet in 5th grade and knew that music was for me. I also liked playing with drums and piano also because they seemed exciting. I've competed in WSMA (Wi
sconsin School Music Assoc.) for many years which taught me a lot about performing for judges, being relaxed, and the importance of preparation.
I started playing the guitar and bass guitar when I was 13 and have never stopped practicing and performing since. I also have done a lot of writing, recording, producing, and have a Pro Tools Studio for students to use.
***College and Teaching***
I began teaching music lessons in college and enjoyed it very much. I received my B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There I was very much involved with guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, and being in bands and writing music. After receiving my B.A. I also took 3 years of Education classes at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I write, produce, and perform my music along with performing with bands around the Midwest.
***Life in Music***
After receiving my B.A. in Music, I continued teaching and opened up my home studio. After a year and a half I had enough students that I was able to quit my factory job and teach music full time. I've been teaching, performing, and writing music ever since.
***Performing and more***
I have been on stage performing music since I was 11. In school band, marching band, competing in music competitions, and in bands touring the Midwest.
I have recorded many CDs with bands and on my own. My most ambitious project was a CD of my original music called, "Girls". I've performed my music and promoted it by being interviewed on Milwaukee radio stations along with internet music sites such as CD Baby. It is very exciting talking on live radio about my music and my passion. It is also even more exciting, and scary, playing my music live on the radio, lol.
I have been teaching for over 2 decades. Students take lessons for: * guitar (electric / acoustic) * piano * violin * voice * drums * trumpet * saxophone * harmonica * music theory / ear training * studio recording / songwriting
I also give kindermusik lessons to 2-5 year old all the way up to senior citizens 70-93. I play parties, concerts, and Nursing Home performances.
I am experienced as an online (Skype) instructor, and I have taught online lessons worldwide. I've witnessed great results from my online students (both national and international).
I hope I can help you with all of your musical goals and get you going in a positive musical direction.
This was my first experience with on line teaching and it was great. I had tried reading the books and watching some videos on You Tube and was not making progress. Just a few minutes with Paul and what I couldn't figure out suddenly made sense.
Looking forward to next week.

My son loves his lessons, he gets really nervous prior because he always wants to get it right however, he likes the fact he’s at home and no one is watching him as he’s learning! As his parents we like that as a military family that will be moving again this is something that we can keep normal for him since it’s done online as well! Paul Neatherly is wonderful with him as well and very patient! I recommend this service and Paul to anyone looking for this type of learning!

My name is Alex P., I'm an experienced harmonica-player, teacher and singer-songwriter. I have taught in Russia since 2008, toured with my band, and have been uploading successful harmonica lessons on Youtube, getting more than 30k views. When I teach a create a program based on student's needs, we figure out his level first and then the exercises that would be useful for HIM. First part of the lesson is studying techniques and at the end we usually go through a song. I can take a student of any level.
Hello everyone. Just a quick review.i have only had one lesson with alex but the hour was remarkably positive. It's the first time I have ever played in front of someone and so was very tense and struggled to play how I normally do .but alex was very patient with me and I enjoyed the whole experience. I will definitely have other lessons and would highly recommend him.its the best chance to learn from a true master and one of the best in the world at playing harmonica. So why not especially at such a reasonable price.

Alex is a brilliant player and teacher. I went from being someone who thought they were decent to someone who knew I was pretty amateur to someone who began to learn the art for real. I have continued to learn and I am getting a lot of feedback that I playing has improved exponentially. I would recommend Alex without reservation.
The chromatic harmonica was my first instrument which I taught myself by ear at the age of 5. It's perfect for playing melodies. I can play "blues harp" as well which is also a lot of fun and has a different kind of expressive feel with the bending. Whichever one you're interested in learning, I can help you hit the ground running with one of the most portable and enjoyable instruments out there! It's all about the feeling and the fun of it!

I really appreciate Mark's teaching ability. He breathes music and make it easy to understand. I recommend Mark as a accordion teacher.

Mark V. was great. He knew how to keep class fun and engaging. He truly cares and teaches piano in a way that is intuitive and can be applied to more than one instrument.

I like Mark's approach in teaching, he gives a lot of useful information within the time of the lesson, and it keeps me busy until the next lesson. I love the classes!
You can expect me to listen to what you tell me, listen to how you play, and then give you information and activities to increase your understanding and develop your abilities. It could be anything from which end of the harmonica is up to advanced classical or jazz performance, or anything in between - blues harp, Neil Young, you name it.
My focus is on you - helping you achieve your goals with the harmonica, whatever they may be. Whatever inspires you to pick up the harmonica, whoever you want to emulate, whatever style grabs you, I bring the background, deep knowledge, and teaching experience to enrich your understanding and grow your skills and ability to express yourself musically.
I'm a harmonica specialist, known internationally as a player and teacher. I'm the author of the books Harmonica For Dummies and Blues Harmonica For Dummies. I can teach all styles, all levels of expertise and all types of harmonica.
I've had a lifetime of experience teaching private lessons on the harmonica and have the skills it takes to help you through the process of learning to play in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I've been a full time musician my entire adult life teaching and performing on stage, the studio and the classroom.
"The Harmonica is my specialty as a professional performer and teacher. It's not my 2nd or 3rd instrument, but my primary one that I've spent a lifetime mastering. I've been teaching, performing and recording on the harmonica for over 30 years and I'm an expert on both the chromatic harmonica and the ten hole diatonic "Blues Harp". I work with absolute beginners to the most advanced professional level in a wide variety of styles. My lessons are tailored to suit your individual needs." Clint Hoover originally hails from Minneapolis, MN and began playing the “harp” after seeing Muddy Waters perform. A rare breed of musician, Clint has mastered both the chromatic harmonica and diatonic blues harp. From modern jazz to pre-war blues, Clint has delved deep into the musical possibilities of the harmonica. A professional for decades, he's lent h
is talents to movies, commercials, TV, radio, theater, instruction books and countless CD projects. His own albums have received rave reviews nationally and internationally. He’s worked with diverse artists ranging from jazz guitar wizard and composer Reynold Philipsek, to folk blues legend Papa John Kolstad to Nashville songwriter Tom Mason. With a reputation of musical flexibility, he became a sought after studio session player. As a respected music educator, he was on staff at Mpls Community and Technical College, McNally Smith College of Music, The West Bank School of Music and The Homestead School of Folk Music. In New York City, he attended Parsons/New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program and studied with classical harmonica virtuoso Robert Bonfiglio. Clint’s work has earned him a place in the Encyclopedia of the Harmonica.
I really enjoy the teaching technique. He has a good way of explaining how to play that could be difficult over skype if you aren’t a good teacher in addition to being a good player. He is flexible with scheduling. Definitely recommend.

"Matt has a wonderful ability to to understand my needs as a beginning harmonica student. We had an email exchange prior to the lesson which allowed me to
describe my goals and music experience so our first lesson was very focused and productive. Matt is very skilled at structuring the lesson so that it matched my learning style and I was able to make progress very quickly. I came away learning so much about how to play harmonica that I now have the tools to continue on my own. Matt is a wonderful teacher-friendly, up-beat, enthusiastic and a great motivator."
"I have followed Clint's career for many decades. He is a fabulous performer and a sensitive player. I know many of his students, and they all rave about
