I am capable of teaching all levels/styles of piano/keyboard and am in regular practice on the instrument myself.

About Terry
Terry P. is a composer, producer, and a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar and piano. He has been teaching all types of people at all levels for over eight years at Axis Music Academy in Southfield, and has taught over 8,000 lessons. Terry has a Bachelors of Music with a concentration in Composition and Theory from Wayne State University. In 2012, Terry was awarded the prestigious Kresge Arts Fellowship in the performing arts category.
This is Terry's bio from the Kresge Arts In Detroit website:

Terry had already started making a lasting impact on the local rock scene – in his influence over other artists and his musical innovations – prior to studying music composition at Wayne State University. Terry has used this classical training toward his goal of elevating the musical consciousness of popular music audiences by
exposing them to compositional techniques they would otherwise never hear without listening to classical music. Terry, a multi-instrumentalist, has focused his efforts on the exploration of these techniques in contemporary genres, specifically progressive metal. In recent years, he has employed himself as a private instructor and has started scoring music for film.

I make sure that lessons are fun for the student, and that the student is learning material that they like. At the same time, I make sure that my students become well-rounded musicians by teaching them skills in reading and music theory. Lessons are tailored to the student, and my approach varies with everyone I teach. I will fast-track you toward your goal while supplementing your lesson experience with exposure to new things that will challenge you in a fun way. I have learned to play almost every instrument and will teach just about anything, although I am strongest with the piano and guitar. I am open to teaching all ages, all genres/styles, and have even taught students with various disabilities. My extensive training also makes me a good tutor for undergraduate music students taking classes in ear-training and theory.
Beginning students should expect to be playing a handful of their favorite songs after studying with me for a few months, and as well they will have a basic understanding of reading notes on the instrument, and a basic understanding of music theory fundamentals. Advanced students will find that they are continually inspired and challenged.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own instrument and practice amp. for guitar/bass, the student must have their own instrument and amp. piano students must have their own piano and drum students must have their own drum kit. I can bring books and other materials and may recommend that students buy certain books etc.

*** Specialties ***
For piano, I specialize in classical, and can teach anyone from 5-year-old beginners to advanced players. I can teach any style.
For guitar, I specialize in metal and progressive rock. I can teach any ability level and any style.

Terry was awesome. My six and eight-year-olds loved working with him. They learned more in 5 weeks than they had in six months with a private teacher they had before. He challenged them with new things, which made them uneasy at first. But he showed patience and got them to build confidence while reinforcing the stuff that they had learned before. Instead of playing the same easy things over and over, he forced them to try new things which worked out great.

Piano instruction from beginners through advanced. Developing your playing skills to achieve the levels of performance you aspire to and develop confidence along the way.

About Barry
I have almost 30 years of experience teaching voice, working with choral groups, voice students as well as classroom music instruction. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education as well as a Masters degree in music from an accredited school of music and have been performing both as a soloist and in vocal performance groups since I was a teenager. I bring to the vocal/music studio all of this experience as well as a heart to pass along this experience to others that desire to share the song that is in their heart. If it is your desire to sing, play the keyboard or guitar, please get in touch with me!

*** Lesson Details ***
When a student gets started with me , wherever their interest lies, I work to discover where they are on their musical journey, discuss some goals they would like to set for themselves and put a teaching and le
arning plan into motion.

For vocalists my primary goal is to assist anyone who is looking to improve the tonal quality and strength of their singing or speaking voice while reducing vocal tension and voice fatigue.

I facilitate singers of any level, age or style who seek to improve breath support, diction, range, tone quality, and ease of singing. This is achieved through a variety of singing exercises, fun vocal drills and creative singing games that we do in lesson time and with instruction on what to do at home.

For individuals seeking to develop basic musical understandings in theory, keyboard skills and guitar, I endeavor to start with were they are and take them to where they desire to be as a musician; opening up doors of music understanding and performance skills that help them on their musical journey.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Keyboard/Piano, Sound system, computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a portable Keyboard if needed for in home keyboard lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Children's Voice and Vocal Techniques for all ages. Beginning piano and Keyboard basics.

You will be guided through method books by me and use supplemental materials I create to help you fill voids you may have to reach appropriate levels in your playing. You will get some popular and classical and Baroque training.I have been teaching piano for 8 years. You will be able to use the piano for personal goals as well as critical level demands. I want to be your next instructor.

About Mark
I teach according to your individual needs. I only teach in my own studio. I do not travel anymore. I help you become successful on piano, violin, cello, viola, bass, guitar, or bass guitar. I help you learn the instrument and learn to read music with my own ideas using fun worksheets and songs you really like to learn how to play. I fill your voids with activities such as practice techniques, sub-lessons, and ear training. I guide you toward proper posture, tone development, and the ability to keep a steady beat. I help you develop your musical independence by tweaking lessons to help you succeed. I help you have fun learning to read music for your instrument using my materials. I believe talent is not a factor in learning. Mastering an instrument is the result of effective instruction and step by step guidance toward foundations and sk
ills. I love to teach private lessons because I believe in spreading the word to make the great gift of playing music available to many. It is an inherited right and gift to enjoy a lifetime of personal satisfaction from playing a musical instrument. I love to help students build confidence and make progress. I help them problem solve by going through problems with them. I teach "how to think" and how to become a life long learner of the instrument. I love the challenge of finding ways to help students become successful at every step of the way. I am excited and enthused to be apart of student progress. I am influenced by many 20th Century performers including Van Cliburn, Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Erroll Garner, Yudi Menuhin, Issac Stern and Horowitz among others. I am passionate in my teaching about providing an effective solution to my student's needs. I am pleased to announce my teaching has awarded a cello student a spot at Del Sol music high school for the 2017-2018 school year. this student of mine passed an audition January of 2017 as a result of my teaching. The student worked very hard and followed my instruction very well. Congratulations!! I am also pleased to announce two of my cello students have both passed auditions to play in the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra starting in September 2017. They both auditioned during May 2017. Congratulations to both of you!!! I also had a violin student who passed auditions for LVA (Las Vegas Academy) a couple of years ago. I have no connection to these organizations. These students all worked hard and followed my instruction. I can help you learn as well. Recently with the development of "octave" strings, if you have been split between learning violin, viola, or cello; these strings installed on a violin or viola make the instrument sound like a cello. It is really something. They are tuned an octave below, so they sound very low. A lot of cello music will have to be transcribed for owners of these instruments installed with "octave" strings. Videos can be found on YOU TUBE of these instruments played. They are ordinary violins or violas strung up with thicker strings to sound an octave below.

I am a professional educator who works with both children and adults, and has the patience to help them. I am a performer who has over 30 years of public experience in solo playing as well as ensemble work. I have performed at Nordstrom for nine years, and performed at many private functions. I have performed classical as well as jazz music as part as my performance experience. I have taught private lessons for well over 17 years. I'm sorry, as of Summer 2016 I do not travel to student locations. I teach at my studio. If you are among the many parents who home-school your children, you should consider music lessons for them. There are many benefits of home-schooling, but unfortunately students miss out on specials. Practicing an instrument can make up for that and also teach critical learning habits and personal skills toward learning in general.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe in personalizing your approach to the strangeness of the instrument. You need to learn much about posture, and proper tone production within the first year. Method books are not "how to" books. You need a teacher to guide you toward becoming familiar with the instrument. You also need to learn how to listen to the sounds you make as you play. To develop "musical independence" you need to become musically literate, develop tone production skills, and internalize a steady beat. Rhythm and tone are basic concepts that must be mastered to maximize pleasure in playing your instrument. Learning how to problem solve is another skill I teach so you can help yourself toward progress.
I believe in using the instrument in daily activities such as playing "Happy Birthday" at family get together. Christmas Songs or Hanukkah Songs can bring much joy during December family parties.
A musician in the house brings much joy during holidays and celebrations; and the families are brought closer together. Memories are created and last forever. Playing an instrument is exciting and expresses what can not be said using words. I believe in teaching students based on their strengths, and building upon them. I am excited to help you learn!!

I only teach in my own studio. I do not travel anymore.

You can advance quickly if you are taught to listen to yourself and follow my instruction. I will guide you every step of the way to understand how music making works. Music lessons are fun and enjoyable. I am pleased to guide you through your learning every step of the way. My students in Las Vegas have had much success with my teaching and guidance. I will succeed where others fail. You will reap the benefits of my professional instruction. I bring a wealth of teaching experience, teacher training, and professional playing experience to every lesson. Most music store studio instructors have very little or no teacher training. Playing experience does not make one a helpful teacher. Failure to learn "how to" teach along with not earning any teaching credentials will not make a satisfying music instructor.

I teach note reading, technique, theory, composition and performance.

About Edward
My name is Edward and I have been playing music most of my life. I was involved in every form of music education that I could find, and took private lessons on guitar and piano for ten years. During this time, I learned that I improved when I performed music that I liked. I attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and received a B.S. in Studio Music in 1996. I then moved to San Diego, CA and started my own business teaching music. The lessons were taught at the students' homes and I incorporated the students' interests in teaching. I have also performed for many years and have written many songs that have been recorded and performed.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching method is unique; I never teach the same way for everyone. The main objectives I teach include performance, reading, ear training, theory, composition and improvisa
tion. I find that playing examples of music that you like is the best way to improve skills. I will recommend books that best suit your style and level. The main styles include (but not limited to) rock, blues, classical, pop, jazz and country. Please contact me if you have any other questions about my teaching methods.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a Yamaha 88 key weighted action digital piano with recording features. I also have music stands and amps for guitars. We have a smoke and pet free home. I also have a large collection of sheet music and music books available for lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***

At 67 years old I was a little nervous picking up a new instrument. I chose Edward and am glad that I did. He is patient and listens to each request that I make. He's teaching me in a way that is comfortable and to my liking. He goes the extra mile to teach me only songs that I wish to learn along with hints that make it easier. I couldn't ask for a better instructor and would highly recommend Edward. if you choose him, you will be glad that you did.

Edward does a great job with both of them. We've been so happy with the job he does- very professional, accommodating to their needs and is a wonderful person. I would give him the highest recommendations!

Students can expect to enjoy a positive, supportive and joyful experience learning music theory, technique and skillfulness at the piano. Students will be inspired to achieve their goals and demonstrate their accomplishments in performance. For example; students are encouraged to learn their notes as well as they know their alphabet. When they can say and play the 24 notes of the grand staff in 30 seconds or less, they become a lifetime member of the 30 Second Club with a certificate and medallion award to commemorate this achievement. It's a big deal, so I feature the new members in recital programs. Parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in on lessons.

About Terri
At age nine I began piano and clarinet lessons and continued my music studies throughout high school and into college. I played in numerous solo and ensemble festivals, honor bands, piano recitals, adjudicated piano and soloist competitions, scholarship competitions and numerous concerts. I learned at a very young age that enthusiasm and creativity expressed by my teachers played an integral role in my motivation to succeed. My experience playing in band, orchestra, ensembles and as a soloist, gives me an enhanced ability to convey lessons in harmony either played between hands or in duets/ensembles.
Because I also have a strong background in ballet and ballroom dance, I utilize these talents to reinforce time signature and rhythm lessons. It's amazing to see how my students transfer the rhythm from their feet to their fingertips accurat
ely. This method also helps them visualize and interpret the music in a more satisfying manner.
Music is the centrifugal force in my life which I joyfully extend to my family and students. I am the proud mother of four children who grew up in a musical home; three of them are proficient, award-winning pianists. My students are also award-winning competitors in the Lisa Fiorenza Junior Piano Competition, Las Vegas, NV.
I have enjoyed teaching piano students ranging in age from 3 to 80 years old. Let's Make A Joyful Noise Together!

I am a guitarist by profession, but I studied piano as part of my conservatory training at UNC School of the Arts. I'm very capable of and would be happy to teach beginner piano.

About Michael
I moved to Las Vegas in August to pursue a doctorate of music in guitar performance. I'm also teaching at UNLV part time, and want to expand my teaching into the local community. I've been teaching for many years now, at universities, music stores and private in-home lessons like I'm offering on this site.

I aim to give my students the skills to pursue whatever they would like on the guitar. I'm a professional classical guitarist, but I got my start playing rock and roll and am comfortable teaching a variety of genres if the student wants to learn a specific style. I feel I am a great teacher for total beginners as well, I make sure the student has a rounded approach and avoids developing bad habits.

I sat in on every lesson Michael gave my daughter, who had not studied guitar before. He uses the time effectively, balancing sight reading, repertoire development, music theory (which he presents in very practical and immediately useful ways), and at all times instilling the technique necessary to sustain rapid progress. My daughter really enjoyed studying with him, and I really enjoyed watching her go from a blank slate to a guitarist you want to listen to. I completely and unreservedly endorse this teacher.

I mainly teach the Alfred method while buttressing my lessons with theory and techniques learned from college; however, I will use whichever method the student is most comfortable with. I like to have fun with it and make sure the student is enjoying his or her time playing and practicing the piano so there is a lasting connection with the instrument.

About Aaron
My goal is to spread the love of music and music theory to as many people as I can. I have been playing piano for the past 15 years and have had great teachers from whom I've learned great playing, composing, and teaching techniques. I have been playing guitar for 10 years as well. I'm in an alternative rock band, The Perks, based out of Las Vegas, and have experience composing and playing multiple instruments. I have a thorough understanding of music theory and hope to share what I know with my students. I'm a student at UNLV, I tutor autistic kids, and I love music.

Hi! My name is Lia Hwang and I have been working really hard to be the best piano teacher in Las Vegas. I have spent many hours into teaching students piano. There is nothing more rewarding than teaching.

I really hope that you will consider me as a prospective teacher for your child. I am not focused on making money. My main focus is to teach students long-term and to allow them the ability to eventually be independent from me in the future. I want the prices to be as affordable as possible. If there are any questions, please text me. I am receiving calls and questions all the time. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

I hope to hear from you soon :)

About Lia
The best way to contact me is through my direct phone number. I have been teaching for a couple of years and I have succeeded as a pianist and a bassist for orchestras and ensembles. I have done solo work and chamber work for ballets and orchestras. My experiences range from piano composition to teaching music theory. I have been playing the piano for 16 years; this includes being privately taught by my mentor Gary Reid. I also play the double bass for orchestra. I have learned the double bass for 12 years so far.
If you want to take lessons, please call me and we will set up your first lesson! Have a great day!
