Jee is a solid teacher. He has good energy and enthusiasm. You can tell he enjoys teaching. I will continue to see him. He is certainly overqualified to be teaching me, a complete beginner but it’s great he’s willing to teach all stages.

Being a senior citizen struggling to learn or not to learn the piano which I longed for as a child I wish I had found a teacher like Jee. He really know what my problem is right away, one lesson gave me hope to continue.

Rob Cournoyer. Where to begin... I was 17 years old when I had started taking lessons from Rob. It was my senior year of high school and after hitting a wall after years of being self-taught, began studying at Hoffman's Music in Houma (my hometown) with a man named Troy Percle. After awhile, Troy told me that if I wanted to go to Berklee, I should look up this guy, who had just begun teaching in Houma. So, I did and from lesson number one, I learned so much. New concepts, new methods, new ideas. But also, Rob was gracious enough to share his worldly experiences with me, a teenager with dreams of grandeur, and through his teaching, helped me to be prepared for the reality that comes with being a working musician. It is work, it will be hard. But it is what you love. Like Tony Williams once said,"We play because we must." Rob is the embodiment of that statement. Long story short, Rob helped me prepare an audition piece for my Berklee scholarship audition and sure enough, they offered me a substantial amount of money to attend their school, which I had been dreaming of going to since I was 12 years old. He helped a big dream of mine come true. I studied with him until I moved out of Houma and up to Boston. Today, I am a working drummer in Nashville and can honestly say that one of the true highlights of my education, was having Rob as a teacher. Not only of drumming, but of life. You would be doing yourself a tremendous service to have Rob Cournoyer be your teacher. Thank you, Rob. I am happy to be able to call him a former teacher and a present friend.
Michael
Rob, has been instructing our 11 year old son for the past couple of years. He is easily the best music instructor I have seen. His passion for music and drums keeps our son excited about his lessons. He teaches in a fun but organized approach that does not overwhelm our son. Our son's improvement after every lesson is very noticeable. I recommend Rob unconditionally. Our son also highly recommends Rob.
Nikki
Rob has been teaching drums to my 14 year old son for about 2 years. He is an incredible teacher and it is amazing how far along my son has come since he started working with him. Rob has a friendly and easy going personality that allows kids to feel comfortable with him. My son has been playing drums for about 5 years and since he started with Rob his drumming ability has gone to a whole new level. Rob has taught my son many different styles including rock, blues, jazz, samba and so much more. Rob is a very talented drummer, a great teacher and just an all around great guy. I would recommend him to anyone looking for lessons.

John Krauss has been teaching our 4th grade boy acoustic guitar for the past year. When he started, our son could not clap a rhythm to save his life but now is learning to strum on beat and follow along with lessons successfully. John challenges our 9 year old with different styles and techniques that push him to the next level. He encourages our child in a warm and respectful way. We appreciate John's professionalism and patience with working with a young student. We highly recommend him. "John is a nice guy who helps me learn new chords and licks. I like my lessons!" says the 4th grader.
Mike
I thought trying to learn to play the guitar at the age of 35 with no musical background, with kids and a full time job was a daunting task. That was until I met John. I have had 30 minute lessons with John for the past year and a half. There was a steep learning curve for me in the beginning, but John remained very patient and encouraging. His knowledge of music and his ability to explain and teach in a way that I could understand is second to none! I can now play a couple dozen songs and have a great foundation of skills to play many many more! I recommend John to anyone of all ages who wish to learn how to play the guitar.

We are very happy that our son takes guitar lessons with John Krauss. John is a very skilled and versatile guitar teacher. He was adept at discovering my son's specific interests and learning style(s) and has tailored his lessons accordingly. My son enjoys, and looks forward to his lessons.
John brings a lot of experience as a musician to his teaching. For much of his life he has performed on stage as a Rock and Jazz guitarist. In addition to teaching music, John Krauss is an award winning sound engineer. He has recorded musical ensembles and soloists, as well as, audio books by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator Fred Thompson, and other well known authors, speakers, and public figures.

I am a Broadway musical director and pianist with over 15 years of experience, looking to start teaching piano. When I was young and first learning piano, I practiced a lot more when I was interested in and excited about the material I was being given. My goal is to meet you where you are and get you where you want to go, keeping you engaged every step of the way.

Are you brand new and learning to read music for the first time? Are you more advanced and looking to push yourself with new material and professional feedback? Maybe you always wanted to know what those chord symbols mean? Are you looking to accompany yourself when you sing? Is there a song you've loved for years and wanted to be able to play? I'm happy to focus on all aspects of music, from theory and technique, to performance and professionalism.

I am open to all ages and backgrounds. I suggest starting with a consultation to assess your current skill set and goals, and if we gel we can proceed forward.

About Rick

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. I started playing piano in the 2nd grade. I went to NYU where I earned a Bachelor of Music in piano performance. The bulk of my career has been spent working on Broadway shows, either in NYC or on tour. I have worked as a pianist, music director/conduct

The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you need to understand how each part of your instrument works to create music. You also need to know the best way to take care of your instrument so that you don't permanently damage it.

I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship.

About Tina

A recent transplant from Los Angeles, California; I have been singing professionally for more than forty years as well as having leading roles in local theatre productions. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side

"immediate changes because of her vocal inventions

I've been working with Fawn for 8 months now. When I first started working with her, I was continually off pitch, as in almost tone deaf but she was able to COMPLETELY change that by my 3rd lesson. Now I know exactly how to be on pitch all the time now with her creative vocal inventions & vocal exercises…it’s been one grand accomplishment every lesson, ever since. :)

The speed & proficiency that she works at amazes me & by this I mean, her techniques work IMMEDIATELY & she works extraordinarily FAST! I have made huge progress that my friends, family & choir teacher have all told me that they can’t even believe it because they actually thought I would never be able to sing & sound good & one of the things I noticed that made such a difference for me was that Fawn always treats me as if I’m already where I want to be & I think this belief in me rubbed off. She always gives me lots of encouragement & tells me to think positive & focus on how far I have come & to build on that. She gives me a lot of homefun (as she calls it) to do, which has made me a better singer & I don’t have breaks in my voice any more. I’m becoming the best singer that I can be."

What Are Vocal Nodules & How to Avoid Them

For the professional singer, an injury to the voice can be devastating. Resolving such injuries can require any number of measures, ranging from vocal rest and therapy to surgical intervention. There is a common misconception that vocal injuries, such as vocal nodules, are solely the result of poor vocal technique or vocal abuse. While this is not always the case, this misunderstanding has created a stigma against singers with vocal nodules, which can make dealing with such an injury even more d …
