I know that I can teach this difficult subject in the simplest ways. Everyone I have helped told me they were surprised at how easy it is once I explain it to them. I love that I am able to teach a subject that seems difficult to most in an easy way. I give all the students notes from our sessions, One of their teachers said that the notes helped them understand the math better as well! I can pinpoint right away where, why and how they arrived at a different solution (and I can explain all of it in a way they understand it easily). I can make up a math test to see exactly where their strengths and weaknesses are. I have studied this subject for a long time and can help anyone who needs it.

About Jean

I understand the material completely and am able to easily teach the different subjects of math. I am going to school to get my civil engineering Bachelor's degree with a math minor. I have helped students with math and other subjects since I was a Junior in high school. I've tutored students and f

When I was 9, I won a Mother's Day poem-writing contest. My first thought: "I can't believe no one else entered."

Several decades later, I *still* don't know if that's why I won, but now that I'm the published author of 80+ books for children, I do know this: writing creatively is an adventure.

It's also a must. If you are going to write at all, write with flair! (You would eat a bowl of ice cream as is, but if offered a topping, wouldn't you take it?) It makes the experience more delicious for the reader, but also for YOU, the writer. The entertainer!

This is not your typical writing session. High impact. Low stress. I make it fun and funny. My writing challenges are unlike any you've done. If you're an avid writer, this is for you. If you're a reluctant writer, same! I've worked with all kinds of kids.

Each session will involve lively discussion and mind-blowing tips...you won't want it to end. So let's get started!

SCHEDULING NOTE: I recommend scheduling your ...

About Marc

When I was your age, my parents forced me to take judo. And guitar. And computing programming. And writing. But before I tried those activities, I did not know which I would like. I thought I would like guitar, but I didn't. I did not think I would like writing THAT much, but I did.

My 4th grader really enjoys the lessons (and she's not an easy sell!). She happily writes her stories without any nagging, and looks forward to discussing them with Marc. She has begged me to keep signing her up for lessons throughout the summer. It's been a great experience!

I've had many diverse experiences which qualify me to teach private essay writing lessons at an affordable price. I am a published poet, creative writer, and am currently in the editing stages of writing a book for publication entitled, "The Eight Pillars of Anger Management". I earned first place in the "There Ought to be a Law" Essay Contest and was recommended for Advanced Placement writing courses in high school and writing and poetry courses in college. During graduate school, I was selected as a Graduate Assistant, editing textbook chapters and authoring and co-authoring peer-reviewed journal articles for publication. I'd love to share my passion for writing and help you develop into an accomplished writer!

I'm an uplifting, hardworking, and caring person and my teaching style is encouraging, precise, and collaborative. My goal is to help you be "a cut above the rest". I look forward to helping you reach your goals

"Janis first tutored our son in math. I was impressed with her admission to me that our son was smart enough to do the math on his own, but needed only motivation. She allowed us to be the ones to decide if we wanted to spend the money on tutoring after having this knowledge. We did continue, and she was really great with him. His grade was raised before we knew it! We then found out she gave guitar lessons and hired her to teach my daughter. She was incredibly patient and made the lessons fun. Both my son and daughter developed a strong relationship with her. I highly recommend her to teach anything!"
