We sent music to Chelsea in advance and she was able to help my son with the difficult parts of his music. The time was well spent and she explained things well. We look forward to our next lesson and working with her over the next month to help him catch up.

Our daughter had a great time with Rebecca for the 18 months she took flute lessons from her. We saw her level improve very quickly and she was able to jump ahead in her school orchestra after only 2 months with Rebecca as a new flute student. Rebecca is a professional but also a lot of fun. I am an adult who has no experience with any type of instrument and was very nervous and intimidated at first. Then I met with Michael, and though there was a ton of information we had to go through, he really made me feel at ease. He has the knowledge, patience, and understanding I was really looking for in a teacher and I'm so happy I found him!

I teach flute primarily through the tried and true Rubank method. Students will learn how to properly care for the instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), and repertoire. I also employ custom exercises specifically for flute to help my students progress the fastest.

About Kyle
Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay with me a long time because I am very flexible in my teaching and know how to interact with many personalities and learning styles, producing great results and progress. My specialties are piano, woodwinds, and music technology (i.e. recording and production). You can find more information about me and what I do at caseymusicservice﮳com.

Kyle has given me contra bass, aka upright bass, weekly lessons from August 2015 through May 2016. I have never played a string instrument prior to this, although I do play piano and have played the flute, bagpipes, and piccolo over the years. I did not need education in reading music.

Kyle was able to take me from sounding like a lower octave version of Jack Benny (a mid-20th century comedian famous for his howlingly horrid violin playing) to a level where I know how to hold the instrument and the bow, the fingerings, bowing technique, and how to get a very respectable sound from the instrument.

He also installed the strings when I received the new instrument, found a manufacturing flaw in the bridge height that the manufacturer subsequently paid to repair, and diagnosed a resonance issue with the instrument that was corrected with a balance weight on the string below the bridge.

I am a senior in high school so I'm constantly playing with my own band and with other bands in Las Vegas. I am fun and charismatic but I've also been a section leader for 3 years so I know how to teach well. I play hard repertoire so I know how to handle most music. I believe that scales and long tones go a long way so I also practice them on a daily basis. I know I'm not a professional so this is why I'm not charging the usual amount that private lesson teachers give (which is usually 45$ per hour!). I'm willing to better the student into becoming the best in their class and to become a better musician themselves.

About Christopher
Hey! My name is Christopher Sanchez and I'm a senior at Shadow Ridge High school. I've been playing the flute since the 8th grade and played the trumpet and French horn prior to that. I've played at the smiths center with the Zion's Youth spring concert this past year, SUU honor band in Utah last school year and with the CCSD honor band last year. I've also been in the pit at my school's plays, such as Little Shop of Horrors and Sweeney Todd! I was also in marching band for 2 years! I get along with people pretty well and people tend to be relaxed and chill when they're around me. I'm passionate about music so I know music theory on top of my flute playing ability. I hope to become a performer or educated in music in the future, and I also plan on going to Berlin for college! I hope to hear back from you so we can get started on lessons!
