The short of this review is that Blake is an excellent instructor. Having received a guitar as a gift I came to him with next to zero knowledge. He took the time with me to build the solid fundamentals and work up from there. In conjunction with working with Blake on my technique and further practice on my own time I was able to play with quite a bit more confidence than before. His knowledge on the guitar is quite apparent. My only regret is that I cannot continue the lessons as I am having to move out of state but I would highly recommend anyone looking to pickup the guitar to consider him.

I am an older student who has played another stringed instrument for many years. Learning classical guitar is a challenge for me. Blake is patient, a good listener, and has figured out my learning pattern/learning curve. I am excited to be making good progress studying with Blake.

His teaching my 7 year old daughter the guitar was impressive to say the least. It is a shame that she lost interest in playing because she didn't want to put in the work. Her lack of passion has no reflection on his professionalism and teaching, I highly recommend him.

About Ben

Hello, my name is Ben and GUITAR IS MY BUSINESS...AND MY BUSINESS IS GOOD so please consider me. I've been playing guitar for over 18 years and have been in playing bands for 12 years. Recently after the band broke up, I decided to further my education and went to Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. There I was taught by the best guitar players in the world. Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland were just a few of the great players who gave clinics there. I received a degree in Guitar Performance and the knowledge I received there made me UNDERSTAND the mystery that is the guitar. I can teach Rock/Metal, Country (lead and rhythm), Blues, Alternative, Acoustic, Classical, Chord Melody, Melodic Soloing, Twang, Chords, Scales,

Yana Giles has been the best piano teacher I have ever taken lessons from out of all 5 teachers I've had. She is patient, encouraging and motivational through every piece she assigns me. My appreciation for music grew an enormous amount after beginning lessons with her. My hand technique improved, as well as performance ability. I recommend her to anyone looking to learn the piano! Even if you have already learned the piano and wish to improve somehow, Yana will show you a new understanding of music that you never thought you could have.

Great teacher

My teacher is very knowledgeable, yet she is able to teach beginner music. She has not only taught me to read notes, she has told me a lot of history about the instrument and lots of music. I think she is the very best!!!!

Yana is a wonderful teacher

I was a bit hesitant of enrolling my daughter in lessons because of the expense not only for the lessons but I knew piano lessons meant a piano or keyboard would also need to be purchased. Yana is so great with her, she has given her a love and better understanding of music. Yana is very patient and a great teacher, she understands my daughter very well and challenges her without crushing her spirits. I highly recommend her, this has been worth every penny!

As far back as I can remember I have always enjoyed performing music. I can remember during my elementary school years how I would play drums during church service. I'm a more "Senior" student who decided that learning the saxophone needed to be at the top of my "Bucket List". I recognize adult students can be particularly challenging because they're a bit more rigid in what they want. Carl is the perfect instructor for all ages. First he's extremely knowledgeable, making you confident he's leading you down the right path. He's has so much diversity in both instruments and styles that he's able to accommodate anyone. With this, he has been able to tailor lessons, mixing the basics with my desire to learn popular jazz tunes. He's picked up on the fact that I'm an engineer and have to understand everything I'm taught, so he's included music theory that makes the lessons, steps, and songs take on a more complete meaning (and improving retention). He's extremely patient and encouraging, as some of my lessons are after very long and tough work days; yet, he knows how to challenge you to ensure continued progress. It's coming up on a year that he's been my instructor and he’s made me so confident I'll stick with playing, that I upgraded to a professional instrument. Superb instructor.

I've been playing piano by ear since about 2 years old, so taking piano lessons was always a challenge for me because I'd often had teachers who I felt didn't understand how to balance my musical ability to play by ear with music theory. I started taking lessons from Carl about 2 years ago in hopes to develop my piano skills, and I am very excited with the progress I've been able to make in such a short period of time! Throughout my lessons, Carl has been nothing but patient and encouraging. He is very knowledgeable whenever I have questions. Carl also has helped me gain a better appreciation of musical theory. As a result of having lessons with him, I have been able to play piano at various Sunday morning worship services with confidence, something I was NEVER able to bring myself to do before! I highly recommend taking lessons from Carl. He's a great teacher with tons of experience and talent!
