Janice M. Hollywood, FL

About Janice

I love to use mnemonics and rhymes as a tool in learning, especially in the beginning. I stress lots of practice but lots of fun. I ensure my students understand that they will reach their goals if they trust in the process. I use a tender touch approach as oppose to tough love because that's what always worked best for me. I received training in classical piano and clarinet, as well as music theory over a period of 11 years, and performed and perfected my skill for many more after that. I studied music theory and performance for both instruments at Florida International University. *** Lesson Details *** From week to week we begin each lesson with students playing what they practice and learned in the previous lesson. I use the Alfred's Piano Library as a basic course for ...

My daughter Julia, 9 years old, loves Ms. Janice. She's been taking lessons for one year. Not only have I seen improvement in her playing but in her confidence as well. Janice is great at being patient in guiding Julia and praising her efforts and successes. I am very happy with her teaching method.

Lucas A. Miami Beach, FL

About Lucas

Greetings! I hope to be of great guidance in your musical journey. Throughout my music career, I've had the chance to learn from some very remarkable master musicians of many styles. First picking up the classical and electric guitars at age 13, I began to play classical guitar for my middle school's guitar ensemble, as well as electric guitar for the school's Rock Ensemble. I also played clarinet and alto sax for those two years, but it was very clear to me that guitar was my passion. Under the direction of the legendary Doug Burris at MBSH, I completed his 4 year classical guitar program in 3 years (I graduated a year early), and was a member of the classical guitar quartet as well as the school's famous Rock Ensemble (est. 1972). I got to travel across the country to compete in ...

Juliana P. North Miami Beach, FL

About Juliana

It'€™s hard to objectively assess your sound when your instrument is part of your body. Think about the difference between how you think you sound and what you hear when you listen to a recording of your voice. Your first instinct is to say that the recording is distorting your voice, right? That's why you need a voice coach with a trained ear and proven techniques to guide and teach you as you develop your polished and professional sound. I teach professionals and beginners from age 10 and up. I think my artistic knowledge, skills and background are the foundation for voice instruction for beginners and professionals alike. The goal is to have you benefit from my years of training and experience. I am the product of many excellent teachers, coaches, stage directors and conductors. ...

I started taking guitar lesson with Lucian, but our theory work inspired me to buy a keyboard, so now I take both guitar and piano on alternating weeks. As much as I still enjoy the guitar, I LOVE my piano lessons. Apparently my piano has come along well enough that my girlfriend now wants lessons for both her and her child. That is no small compliment coming from her! I'm 43, but I would recommend Lucian to anyone at any age, so long as you're willing to put in the practice. I've had a half dozen guitar instructors, not to mention teachers of various subjects and levels. Lucian is among the best.
Julia B. Miami, FL

About Julia

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in taking music classes! :) Learning about music can be complicated and confusing especially when there are so many courses; different methods available just click away on internet. There are a lot to learn as notation, chords, rhythmical patterns, music terminology, music styles and so on. It is like learning new language could be overwhelming and make many students give up on their dream. Also learning on your own without any step by step instructions, easy- to follow method and goals in mind can make you frustrated and lose your motivation and enthusiasm very fast. With more than 15 years of studying music in Music school, Music college and Conservatory of Music in Kazakhstan as a pianist, vocalist and choir conductor, ...
