Isaac L.

Boston, MA

My primary goal with all of my students is to help them make great music that is true to themselves. What this means for my teaching is a focus on training both the ears and technique. I always prefer a more personalized approach to teaching, working with students to find repertoire that speaks to them and improves their musicality and technique.

About Isaac

Hello! I am currently a student at New England Conservatory of Music studying Jazz Bass Performance. I am completing my last semester of my undergraduate degree and will be graduating in the spring of 2016.

I have a background in Jazz and Classical primarily on the upright bass however I also regularly preform the electric bass and love to teach both.

My private studies thus far in my career have been with Mark Pucci, Rick McLaughlin, Cecil McBee, John Lockwood, Dave Holland, Hankus Netsky, John McNeil, Don Palma, Frank Carleberg, Jason Moran and Miguel Zenon

Rob has been a consummate professional and a great teacher! He is reliable, communicates promptly, and tailors each lesson to my needs/strengths. He has been particularly helpful in identifying new ways to explain and demonstrate complex techniques to those of us new to string instruments!

Zachary W.

Cambridge, MA

One of the greatest assets a musician can have is a complete and integral understanding of the music they will be performing. Not only does this help once it comes time to step on stage, but recognizing the theory and structure behind the music can be extremely beneficial to accelerating the learning process of a piece of music. I specialize in combining all areas of music- history, technique, theory and musicality - to develop a unified concept of the music and will strive to recognize each students' strengths and weaknesses to help them better understand each step.

About Zachary

Hello!

I am currently studying double bass performance with a focus in music theory and have been teaching for four years. Having studied with a wide variety of, both private and institutional, teachers allows me to take the best parts from each school of thought to suit the individual students' needs. For most areas of the greater Boston area, I will be able to come to you for lessons or tutoring. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will be sure to respond as quickly as possible!

Alec G.

Allston, MA

In my upright lessons I focus heavily on technique especially for beginners. Once we have established good technique we can either go down the road to jazz or classical music... Or we can work on both, which is what I recommend.

About Alec

Hi, there! My name is Alec and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have loved helping my students grow as musicians, and as individuals. Music is a journey into the soul and I will take you as far as you want to go. I studied at Northern Arizona University for 2 years and just recently started at Berklee School of Music. I'm serious about music and I love sharing my passion with others. My teaching style is loose, eye opening, and personally tailored to your needs. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
