I have over 6 years of experience teaching private lessons in addition to teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and SUNY JCC.

I teach both online and in-person lessons at my studio in Nashville and offer 30 and 60 minute lessons.

I have played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series, including sharing the stage with members of the 10,000 Maniacs. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.

While each student is different, I do generally start everyone on either Suzuki or the Essential Elements books.

It's the best instrument, right? No matter where you are as a cellist, I'm happy to meet you right there and help you achieve your goals. Together we can explore new repertoire, work on sound production and intonation, and develop an arsenal of different expressive nuances. You'll be able to pursue the instrument at the speed and level of intensity you desire; I am as happy to work with beginners in casual lessons as I am to help more advanced students prepare for recitals and auditions. I have played in a variety of musicals and various college orchestras and chamber groups. Because of my approach to music I don't consider classical my forte but I can still teach any student cellist a great amount about beginning to advanced playing in any style - including classical.

I am also comfortable playing a variety of styles on the cello, namely jazz.

I received Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California with minor in Music Education and Master's of Music from Yale University in cello performance.
