Hello, my name is Bailey and I love teaching cello! I am a professional pianist and public school orchestra teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Fredonia School of Music. I am a certified K-12 music teacher in New York State. I have been giving private lessons for 10 years to a variety of learners ranging in age and skill level.
My students walk away each week feeling empowered and confident in their abilities. I am able to push you while making you feel excited about new challenges. I am able to assess what you need, and offer you meaningful feedback in small, digestible chunks. Along with all of this, I make lessons fun! I have over 30 years of experience teaching cello. Every student has different needs; I work with you at whatever point you are at; beginners through advanced students welcome. I have a doctorate in cello. I've played cello all my life; in recent years I have learned (and can teach) 5-string cello, as well.

I recommend lessons 30 minutes in duration for beginners, particularly children. (Adult beginners can choose 30 or 45 minutes.) Students who can play longer pieces definitely need a little longer lesson so we get through everything.

I use Suzuki books for their inexpensive repertoire but I do not teach using the Suzuki method nor do I teach rote playing. I supplement these books with technique materials from Rick Mooney (Position Pieces, Thumb Position) and studies by cellist-composers of the past. I have more than 18 years of experience teaching, all ages. I teach beginners and Advanced students. I work with different books, depends on the level of the student, Essentials, Suzuky, Dotzauer, Klengel scales, Duport, Popper, Piatti, Sonatas, Concertos like Vivaldi, Saint Saenz, Bocherini, Haydn C and D, Dvorak, Lalo, and much more, i also prepare the kids for Recitals, All State and Competitions.

My name is Naza. I have been playing cello for 30 years - I started practicing at age 8 at a music in school in Kyrgyzstan. I then graduated from the National Kyrgyz Conservatory and continued my studies at Moscow Conservatory under Maria Tchaikovskaya. I've performed internationally in Russia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan,and the USA.

I've been a member of the Skokie Valley Symphony and Highland Park Strings. I currently teach in my private studio in Chicago area and have been doing so for the past 8 years.
