Gali was a great choice for my needs, though she has experience teaching people with other learning styles, and my sense is that she's very good at adapting her teaching to the needs of the student. She is very responsive to my preferences and individual needs, and is also just a lovely person to talk to. I'm very happy so far, and looking forward to my next lesson!"

I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others.
I started playing the piano at around the age of four, and helped out as a substitute teacher at my mother's music school back in Singapore while in High School. I left shortly after to pursue music at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated summa cum laude in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production!
My students range from as 3.5 years old, to the grandmother of a couple of my students. I wo
Everyone is different - and I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. I'll push you (a little!), to make you realize just how much you can do!
Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from jazz to pop to classical, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and perhaps (if you like) record them!

I am a highly qualified NYC-based Russian and English language teacher with a degree in linguistics/teaching and more than five years of experience. During the years of my teaching practice, I have developed several teaching methods, which I use in my classes. Together we will establish clear objectives for our lessons and will work on your grammar proficiency, listening and speaking skills, and accent neutrality.
I am a strict teacher :) Seriously. You have a goal and I am here to help you get there, whether it is to be able to negotiate with your business partners, speak to your family members or
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here using the "Ask a question" button. If you have already decided that you need to speak Russian or English, do not postpone it for another day, month or year. Click the green button and let's do it.
I am looking forward to starting our language journey!
P.S. You can see me in action on my YouTube channel "Anna Cher: Russian from the Heart": https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3r_jGuhcb7D48Vh0pakNcA
Some technical aspects:
- All materials are provided and included into the price of a lesson
- Recommended frequency of lessons: minimum of 2 times per week (duration of each lesson – 1-1.5h). Learning a language is like going to the gym: to get the muscles, you have to practice regularly.
- If you would like to have a class at a specific time and it is not available in my calendar, please send me a message. I may be able to change some things around and accommodate your request.
- I try to be flexible and modify my schedule based on your needs. But please be considerate and let me know 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a class.

I am a half Norwegian and half Finnish 20-something living in New York City. I began teaching a few years ago, and love sharing both "Norwegian by the book" but also some fun "Norwegian slang" and "day-to-day Norwegian" to make your skills handy in real life!
I love coffee shops, traveling, meeting new people, and sharing my culture with students wishing to learn about Norway and Norwegian.
I used to ride horses growing up outside of Oslo, but these days I mainly bike all over Brooklyn on a Citibike, listen to podcasts, work out, and I love having a good fun fact to share about myself when I meet new people!
Are you ready to "snakkes over en kopp kaffe?" (Chat over a cup of coffee?) Get ready to learn words, grammar, sentences and let's chat in Norwegian soon!
Beside English, I am a native Arabic and French speaker and I do teach language as well. My language and music teaching experience has included, for the past 10 years, privet lessons, online lessons and classroom lessons in elementary, middle and high school as well as universities.
