I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.

I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.

My international credits include studies at the Academy Internationale d'Ete de Nice, France; the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Chianti, Italy; the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel; and an appearance at the Young Artist's Concert in Tokyo, Japan.

As a versatile singer, I was presented as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybelline New York. My voice was featured in short films for NEC, the Japanese technology company.

I was also selected as a finalist at the Opera Idol Competition at Lincoln Center, the Hariclea Darclee Voice Competition in Romania, and the Mario Lanza and Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition. In the summer 2014, I received a scholarship to perform at The Savannah Voice Festival that is founded by Metropolitan Opera/Grammy Award Winner Opera Star Mr. Sherrill Miles. My upcoming engagement includes singing the title role of Madame Butterfly with Snob Opera in Montreal and Quebec that is supported by Quebec City.

Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 11 years. I have been fortunate to study with the world renowned teachers. I continue my vocal studies with Mr.Gerald Martin Moore who teaches Tony award winner Kelly O'Hara, Met star Renee Flemimg and Mr. William Hicks who was a coach for Luciano Pavarotti at The Metroplitan Opera. I would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.

I believe that learning music is fun and enjoyable. However you also need to be serious and focused.
I can demonstrate various and specific techniques, phrasing, and interpretation and will always coach on how to develop your skills. However, I feel it is important for students to think critically on their own and take the first try at solving a problem themselves. I cannot emphasize enough that primarily it is you who find the ways to improve. Leaning music is a collaboration between teachers and students. I hope that through my lessons, students will become more self-sufficient and confident as musicians.

I'm almost afraid to write this review lest Asuka's schedule gets totally filled with new students:) I started lessons with Asuka Nov 22 as a beginner and by January 15 the notes I could sing increased by an octave.

My high C/C6 came by early December, a couple of weeks after starting with Asuka. Some of this is my voice type, but I believe anyone who works with Asuka will see improvement.

I am taking lessons with a well-regarded pop teacher from the same time period and I've developed almost entirely from Asuka's lessons vs the other teacher, and quickly too with consistent practice. What Asuka teachers carries over to non-classical singing also.

Asuka is not rigid in her approach, thankfully, and she is so nice about the million things beginner singers can correct. I don't feel embarassed singing in front of her because she is non-judgmental.

I did some online lessons when she was traveling, and I got just as much out of them so even if I leave New York I will continue working with her.

I started playing guitar seriously at the age of 12 and have been a guitar teacher for 22 years. My first influences were rock and metal. In my later teens, I became very interested in other music genres such as jazz, fusion and classical. Marco is one of the best teacher ever, I knew him way back in 1997 when I first came in to the state. At first, one of my friend was taking the session and he didn't mind me just staying and observed. After a few classes, I decided to go with Marco. As a new immigrant, language barrier is a problem. He 's patiently teach me from a to z. Making sure I understand everything. Although, I knew some of the basic of the guitar. I was surprisingly I could learn how to read music. Be able to improvise with him during lesson. You're not just learning how to play song/guitar. You learn music theory all in a packet. I still remember one day I was playing in the local shop in HK, people was whispering this guy is good. This is a good memory that I have until now.

I was a student of Marco's for about two-almost three years, and his excitement, love, desire, wisdom and passion for music and teaching is something that can't be described in words. Marco is a teacher that likes to have fun with whatever it is he may be teaching, but he is also very serious about it to make sure his students learn what they want in the best way possible to them. He will encourage his students if they need it and congratulate you every time you complete whatever it is you may have learned from him. I mostly learned techniques/songs from artist's such as Randy Rhoads, Angus Young, and much more from Marco. He will not let you down. He won't give up on you. Marco has been teaching my son how to play the guitar since 2008. I feel that we were blessed having Marco as my son's first teacher. He really understood him and I was brought to tears at his very first recital when I was amazed how much he had learned in just a short few months. He is a senior in HS now and he has a love for the guitar and a passion to learn new music on his own.
Marco is an exceptional teacher who is very patient and understands his students and listens to their needs. He is extremely talented and anyone would be very lucky to have him as their music instructor. I recommend him highly. He is the best!

I graduated from Mannes College of Music with a BS in violin performance and a minor in psychology. While at Mannes, I was a student of Sally Thomas (Julliard School), and other primary teachers include Yi-Wen Jiang (Shanghai String Quartet), Claudia Schaer, Amy Barlowe and Oscar Ravina. I have performed at every major concert hall in New York City, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall, and Symphony Space. My performance schedule has led me to perform in concert with pop superstar Sarah Mclachlan and to solo performances with the Rockland Summer Institute orchestra.

My past chamber music coaches include Ann Setzer, Peter Prosser, Chin Kim, Gena Raps, and members of both the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and NY Philharmonic. I have also participated in masterclasses with Cho-Liang Lin, Pamela Frank, and Ida Kavafian.
I am also a alumna of the Meadowmount School of Music.

Currently, I am a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of America and have completed Suzuki teacher training for books 1 - 8 at NYC's School for Strings, where I trained with Ekaterina Gerson and Allen Lieb. I have also completed additional violin and viola pedagogy studies with Ann Setzer of the Julliard School. My students have been accepted to performing arts high schools such as Laguardia Highschool School for the Performing Arts and now perform with ensembles such as Chicago University's Chamber Orchestra.

In addition, I completed both Music Mind Games Units 1 & 2 teacher training with Michiko Yurko in 2012. I incorporate this fun way of learning how to read and understand music theory into all of my lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
I generally try to tailor my teaching approach based on a student's individual goals with a strong emphasis on proper violin technique. I have the most experience teaching using the Suzuki method, but also utilize more traditional approaches in order to address the developmental level of my pupil. I expect my students to come in with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.

With students 7 years of age and younger, I strongly recommend that a parent take lessons for 6 weeks prior to their child beginning instruction. I also insist that parents sit in on their child's lessons and take notes. This enables parents to properly supervise their child's practice, which ultimately leads to speedier progress and a better grasp of the material being taught.

I ask that my students please speak to me prior to purchasing or renting an instrument.

Following the first violin lesson, I expect my student to provide their instrument (I can provide a list of resources and rental companies for instruments), a notebook, any music books assigned, a music stand, and a metronome.

A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms Luba S. started playing piano at the age of 6 and continued her musical studies at Mussorgsky School of Music and later at St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Her concert appearances in Russia included performances with orchestra and solo recitals at St. Petersburg State Capella, Philharmonic Hall, and Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory Hall.

Upon moving to the United States in 1989, she worked as a vocal accompanist at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music while pursuing her BS degree in Computer Science. From 1996 she participated in the series of Master Classes at International Summer Festivals such as Holland Music Sessions, Nice Festival Academy, studying with Boris Berman, Brigitte Engerer, Menahem Pressler and performing in the frame of above mentioned festivals.

Luba made her Weil Recital
Hall debut with the Zephyr Duo as a prize winner in the Artists International Competition. Both as a solo artist and chamber musician, she has performed throughout the Metropolitan New York area in venues such as Trinity Church, Mannes and Manhattan Schools of Music, the Connell Library, Drew University, Watchung Art Center, Summit Presbyterian Church, Atlantic Highlands Chamber Music Series and others. As an adult beginner student, I was a bit nervous about starting lessons past childhood. However, I enjoyed playing the few tunes I did know and decided to begin lessons with Luba because of the other outstanding reviews she has online. I am very delighted to say that these are all very true, and I could not have been happier with my experience.

From the first lesson, Luba quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses and was able to provide just the right personalized guidance for me to expand my abilities. That first lesson left me with so much more than I had come in with that I was amazed at how manageable Luba was able to make the piano. Enthusiastically, I practiced the pieces at home. At the studio with Luba, I discovered just how talented of a player and teacher she is. Without even looking at me, she identified the things I was having trouble with in every piece. Her playing reinforced my knowledge of the pieces. I particularly enjoyed how she emphasized the musical quality and "feel" of each piece, rather than just the technicalities of the sheet music.

Unfortunately, I had to end my lessons after six months because I was moving out of the state. In such a short amount of time, though, I can now read sheet music at a reasonable pace, understand basic music theory, and most importantly know how to practice. All of these I can only attribute to Luba. She has transformed a mildly interesting instrument into one of my most beloved lifelong hobbies.

It is with great pleasure and with no reservations whatsoever, that I can recommend Luba as a piano teacher for both children and adults. Although her curricula vitae speaks for itself in terms of her qualifications and experience, it is the personal qualities of a teacher that are of the utmost importance in developing a student/teacher relationship that brings out the fullest potential and desire to learn of the student. Luba's warm and kind demeanor belies her exacting requirements of her students. As a pianist who has attended Luba’s student recitals, I am always impressed to see how well-prepared and confidently they perform. Even the beginners play with beautiful phrasing and musicality. "Mrs. Luba" has come to be one of the most positive role models in our daughter's life. Over the last two years, Luba has instilled in our daughter (now aged 8) a deep appreciation and love for music and an understanding of the importance of setting goals.

In addition to her obvious rich musical knowledge, Luba is enthusiastic, caring, warm and understands how to teach. Though my time as a student with Dr. Dan was short, it was very valuable. Even though the lessons were about singing, it helped me gain a general confidence in myself regarding posture, and using a loud voice. He has given a number of exercises to develop my breathing, vibrato, tone, and lower registers to use on my own. Dr. Dan is a great teacher who makes the atomsphere of the lessons very friendly and I would highly recommend him!

My name is Joseph P. I began playing the piano and writing music at a very young age. I've been teaching for over ten years, and I love sharing music with my students. I specialize in piano, composition, and music theory, and I play many genres ranging from classical to R&B.

Working with Joseph was a delight! He provided his services as an accompanist for a Christmas music video I was recording.

He was always punctual when arriving to rehearsals, scheduling rehearsals was a breeze, even with our packed schedules, and he was always prepared for each rehearsal with copies of the music I'd provided, as well as notes he'd gained by working through the music prior to the rehearsal.

He had a pleasant demeanor, and plenty of creative ideas for any places in the song that allowed for improvisation or personalization of the chords or phrasing. His accompaniment was the perfect companion to my singing, and could range many genres of music.

I also worked with him as the pianist in larger bands performing in the NYC area, and there as well, he was great to work with. Highly recommended! :)

About Christopher
Christopher Joseph has been playing guitar for 11 years and has studies and performed genres such classical, jazz, cumbia, Latin, Spanish, Brazilian, rock and pop. He has performed with many different artists/bands and has composed for a variety of styles. While in high school Christopher studied Classical guitar and violin under the tutelage of Bernard Mathews and now at New Jersey City University he studies Classical guitar with Francisco Roldan of the ZigZag Quartet and with Joao Luiz from the World acclaimed Brasil Guitar Duo for ensemble. At the university he is currently a senior.

Chris is a wonderful teacher! My daughter is a shy 7year old, but she said he made her feel proud and comfortable. Chris surely knows how to teach young minds with his patience and calmness. My daughter is already looking forward to have another lesson with him soon!

In these lessons I work with students individually to broaden their understanding of harmony, rhythm, form, and other important musical concepts that, when mastered, will drastically increase fluidity in musical thought, improvisation, and composition.

About Drew
Aside from an extensive amount of personal and teaching experience in all of these subjects, I genuinely love connecting with students through music to help them reach their personal goals. I believe that my approach towards learning music is deeply rewarding, engaging, and aids brain development. Below is my bio which details my approach and teaching experience.

Drew Wesely received his Bachelors of Music in Jazz and Improvisational Music from the University of Nevada Reno and his Masters of Music in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory. He teaches guitar, piano, songwriting, and composition with an emphasis on intuitive learning, ear training, and music theory. His background includes jazz, classical, rock, blues, reggae, R&B, hip-hop, electronic music, and improvised music. As an educator he has eight years of e
xperience in private studio and has given workshops at the middle school, high school, and college level including his recent outreach work with the Boston Philharmonic to underfunded schools. Drew approaches each student as an individual with their own goals, needs, experience level, and learning style to create a specialized curriculum that helps propel the student towards their best self and enjoy the process at the same time.

Was strictly interested in playing classical, nylon string guitar, and was a little nervous because Drew is very proficient and accomplished in Jazz and Improvisational guitar, which is a little outside of my interests.

Drew does a fantastic job at teaching classical guitar, and at the same time introduced me to the more modern world of improvisation guitar, which I now enjoy a lot more than before.

I'd highly recommend Drew if someone is interested in a well rounded musical education that goes beyond just playing an instrument. I not only learned a lot of guitar, but feel I'm an all around better musician after taking lessons with Drew
