30min increments: For =< 60mins lesson, you have to come near to my place; I will come to your place at >= 90mins.
Calculus1/Calculus2: If you are taking this subject, you then have already taken some considerable mathematics; although, this time, the content becomes even more advanced and the notations even more arcane that you start wondering whether you ever really learned any math at all! Fear nottake heart! It is not as complicated as it seems once you get accustomed to its rules. Using practice exercises, I will then guide you how to solve more complicated problems using basic concepts.
(IMPORTANT: Please do NOT book any lessons without confirming with me if we have a match in schedule. I have other obligations besides tutoring so if you do not have a flexible schedule, I recommend other tutors that will match your budget and schedule.)

15+ years' experience math and science specialist!
If you've been muddling along with precalculus or chemistry has you hitting your head against the wall, I've got your back! Focused but encouraging, enthusiastic but personable, I've patiently helped my students reach that "lightbulb moment" countless times.
Guiding someone to understanding a concept they struggle with is of course a major part of tutoring, but I'm also really big on coaching students to be methodical and have a system. Content knowledge is only part of the puzzle; problemsolving skills are crucial. Check out my testimonials to hear from my students themselves on that!

Hello, my name is Alec! I am looking to tutor high school and college level math courses that include PreCalculus, Calculus 1(AB) and 2(BC). I have experience that has developed me into a proficient and reliable tutor. Recently, I worked for a college as a Calculus 1, Calculus 2, PreCalc, and Trig tutor, which helped me gain critical experience. I also have great grades and retention in the classes I endeavor to tutor in. I attained A's in college level Calculus 1 and PreCalculus. I won't just help you understand your class content, but I can also support you in your test taking and test studying. My credentials in test taking include having 4 years of test taking experience in college and great test scores in the classes I want to tutor such as high A's on more than half of my tests in Calc 1 and PreCalc 1. Another advantage that I provide, is that I am very aware of the best ways to learn. As it pertains to retaining what you learn, I know the importance of letting the student work ...

As an engineer, I use calculus on a daily basis to solve problems, and this includes multivariable and vector calculus. Taking a calculus course and knowing the steps to solve a derivative or integral is one thing, but applying calculus concepts to problems in engineering and physics (i.e. biomechanics or fluid mechanics) is the true mark of understanding calculus something I've learned how to do over many years of applying what I learned in my calculus courses. Sure, calculus can be a challenging subject at times, but with a focus on geometric representations, attaining a solid understanding of the concepts is well within reach, and that is the way I approach the subject with my students. For example, I don't just show you how to analytically solve an integral, I show you what an integral is, and what the solution means. When you understand calculus on this level, you'll be able to work through any of the curve ball questions your teacher might throw in on an exam.
