Hello, I'm Kate!

I've been professionally producing music for the past several years, and singing/songwriting my entire life. I'm constantly seeking out ways to help others realize their unique sound, whether that's through a fresh mix, new instrumental approach, or total rework of a particular sound. My works have been featured on multiple Spotify editorial playlists like "Fresh Finds", BBC Introducing, and countless others. I've gathered over 200K+ streams through my creations.

As a producer, I specialize in electronic/pop/indie type sounds, but have worked with a variety of artists and genres. In addition to music creation, I also offer lessons in music theory and Abelton live. I've worked as a private music instructor for the past couple of years and have developed students to be hardworking independent musicians.

I am very passionate, hard working, and eager to respond to your audio needs effectively and efficiently. I am a big believer in catering each session to each ...

I have been using Ableton for over 5 years, with a lot of experience using it in live performances as well as composition/production. I personally love ableton, I think it is the best DAW out there and definitely the one I'm most familiar with. I used it for most of my Electronic Production & Design projects at Berklee. Additionally I taught kids ages 13-18 how to use Ableton at the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Allston, MA for 2-3 years. I currently teach music production to quite a few students at my home studio, doing in-home lessons, and teaching online - my current students range from teens to adults. Furthermore, I've had tracks which I have produced (in Ableton) selected by Berklee's Electronic Production & Design Dept. (EPD) to be played for internationally acclaimed sound designer/producer/composer Richard Devine, during his 2014 seminar at Berklee. I was also selected as a finalist for a remix competition at the 2nd International Csound Conference in 2013 (for another ...

Josh is always easy to be around and is able to form any lesson around what I wanted to do, as well as teach me loads of new ideas if I hadn’t planned anything. He has greatly helped improve my own production and give me insight into what professional producers do to set themselves apart. He’s great to work with and always in an uplifting mood.

How do you make awesome music in Ableton?

Start with the music that excites you. Listen, analyze and notice all the sounds you're hearing.

Then, you make a soundalike. In the process, we analyze everything you hear, and learn all the tricks of recording, sound design, producing and mixing.

Then, you try making your own music, using the sounds you know and new sounds you discover on the fly.

One project at a time, you figure out how music works, master the software, and become capable of making just about any sound you want to hear.

I've been making music with Ableton for a while- I made my first record as a songwriter almost entirely in Ableton 9. I learned everything by trial and error and a lot of YouTube watching, so I can help you avoid the initial stumbles I made and set you up for success with the most powerful software on the market for music creation.

I won't be lecturing you- we'll be working together, collaborating on music you can be proud of. Shoot me a message ...

About Ethan

My musical life started at the piano when I was four. I've spent the last five years helping students understand the sounds that speak to them and bring them into their own music-making. I spent my early years playing piano, then picked up the saxophone, which took me to Berklee College of Music,

I have studied saxophone, jazz piano/theory, and songwriting with Ethan for over 2 years, and he is the best music instructor I've ever had. He cares so much about his students and helps us thrive. Not only is Ethan my teacher, he is a friend and a mentor.

I first met Ethan through my school's jazz combo program, and my interest in music immediately grew in the presence of his friendly persona. Ethan organized life changing jam sessions and master classes that I will remember forever. His teaching approach is project based which gives his students something to walk away with. With his guidance, I have become a stronger musician and a wiser person. Thanks Ethan!

"Taylor is an amazing teacher! She really knows how to break down complicated subjects for people like me who have no idea how music theory works and why it's important. My class is divided into theory and actual use of the software which is really a great way to learn the concepts and apply them yourself. We also had a lot of fun jamming out to little songs we made!"
