The ultimate instrument: Learn the notes, how to read, and how to play the songs you want to play. For young students, a strong foundation comes first for unlimited capabilities in the future.

About Gregory
As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeast later in life and even to China with a 1940's Radio Show. I enjoyed many top-level bands the kindled my love and passion for good music. I want to share that kindling with my students in a nurturing and guiding situation, just like my teachers gave me.
I used to go to lessons and become so motivated and inspired that I thought I could change the world. I always knew that I would want to give back exactly that. As my performance opportunities grew into venues like Churchill Grounds, The Rialto, and The Variety Playhouse in Atlanta
and Radio City Music Hall, 54 Below, The Jazz Standard, Bowery Ballroom, Shapeshifter and Flushing Town Hall in New York, my fire for wanting to develop my teaching did also. I was always thinking back to what my old teachers gave me, inspiration. I then understood that inspiration is the key to success in life.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons will be something the student looks forward to every week. We will work through common method books and learn material that the student has an interest in. For example, some students want to learn to play high notes, a popular song, improvise, or write their own songs. I am a laid back guy, but I do expect effort in the lessons and at home. I believe whatever you put into music is what you get out of it, and I will inspire and motivate the student to get as much out of the lessons as they can. Students will create, with my advisement, and update short term and long term goals every few months.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Keyboard or Piano and Music Stand

*** Travel Equipment ***
They should provide their instrument, instrument care products (valve oil), method books and sheet music.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in jazz and classical music. I use many common methods depending on how the student tends to learn the best, and will even combine different methods if the student requires it.

I have had several lessons so far with Gregory and as an experienced trumpet player can recommend him extremely highly.
I am getting back into the trumpet following a gap after playing for 10 years when I was at high school. Gregory has really helped getting my technique and sound going again, I have been really pleased with my improvement. He has a great demeanour and has been great fun to work with. He is also an excellent player, and is highly reliable and easy to schedule with.

Piano lessons are taught one-on-one and from a beginner level to an Intermediate level. Ages of students start at 6-years-old and up. I have many adult students as well. It's never too late to start a new instrument.

About Rob
I have over 18 years of professional teaching experience on drum set, snare drum and percussion (timpani, two- & four-mallets, accessory percussion and hand drums), guitar, piano, electric bass and ukulele. I have been playing music since the age of two.

Some of my most noteworthy performances have included Late Show with David Letterman (Justin Townes Earle and Allison Moorer), Tonight Show with Jay Leno (Allison Moorer), Levon Helm'™s Midnight Ramble (Allison Moorer), The Conan O'™Brien Show (Julia Nunes) and Budokan in Tokyo, Japan (Jim Campilongo Trio).

My Bachelor of Music is from Capital University where I studied with three great teachers:

Jim Ed Cobbs - Drum set, tabla and frame drums
Eric Paton - Taiko, samba, Afro-Cuban drums

I treat
each student individually, catering to specific goals and needs that we will decide upon and plan together. Some students want to seriously study a craft. Others want a hobby that will be fun and interesting. I have had success teaching to both, and will impart basic fundamentals and musicianship to all types of students.

I see my primary job as keeping the student inspired, intellectually fed and sprinting in the right direction. The student's job is to do the work. Daily practice is essential to move forward in any craft.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My Brooklyn studio is a dedicated music space with two drum sets, PA, amplifiers and recording capabilities.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide books, a drum pad, sticks or mallets, an iPod with two sets of headphones, and a metronome. Additionally, I can bring small hand drums, special instruments and percussion that might be needed for specialty lessons. I expect students to have some sort of pad or drum to practice on at home; a full drum set is not necessary.

Rob was an awesome teacher and even better guy. The lesson environment was comfortable, but always focused and professional. He's clearly a hugely talented musician and has a ton to offer in the way of teaching; perhaps more importantly though, his love of music inspires the student to practice and learn. Very highly recommended.

Having performed jazz, funk, rock, pop, blues, Brazilian fusion, and classical among other genres, I use the fluidity between these inform each of my lessons. Whether a student is a beginner looking to play their favorite song on the radio, an intermediate looking for some music theory to give them more options in their playing, or an advanced player looking for improvisatory techniques, I tailor each session to the desires of each student and their learning style.

About Daniel
I'm a gigging musician and teacher who graduated from Oberlin College in May 2015 with a degree in Musical Studies and Physics. I was on the Division III tennis team there for two years as well. I pride myself on patience and empathy no matter what I teach, whether it feeling the pulse of a complicated drum groove or solving a challenging physics word problem. For music lessons, I strive to bring in a context of genre fluidity and history, so that a student knows where and what to explore on their own even when I am not in the room to show them. Overall, my teaching is all about inspiring students to do well and make their strengths work for them, rather than dryly coming up with the "right answer" or playing a tune the "right way" to get from point A to point B.

Dan is definitely the best voice instructor I have ever had. Not only is he warm and down to earth, he is incredibly supportive, knowledgeable and makes practice fun. He took a lot of time to get to know my goals and interests when it came to singing; my confidence in my voice has been shaken a lot due to less than encouraging voice instructors and he was very empathetic and genuine in his support. I would highly recommend him as a voice instructor!

Ever wanted to play a song but can't find the sheet music? Ever found sheet music that lacks the sparkle you hear on the record? If you want to have command of the piano beyond just reading what's on the page - I can get you there! My piano teaching is based on strengthening 3 different areas, reading music, ear- training, and chord improvisation. Have your classical technique make your contemporary playing stronger and vice versa! Through these methods, you'll be able to be confident in playing classical, pop, jazz and whatever your ears desire. Take your piano foundation to the next level and also be able to write your own songs, compose your own pieces and record them yourself. I am passionate about enabling my students to learn piano in a cutting edge and relevant way.

About Anh
I've been professional singer, songwriter and producer for the past 5-6 years whose work has had placements in MTV Europe, BBC Radio1 and Netflix. I graduated from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, majoring in Music production and Songwriting with an emphasis on Contemporary Keyboard.

I am passionate in giving my students tools beyond the conventional methods of traditional music lessons. Traditional music lessons often emphasize memorization, regurgitation and limit musicians to only what's "on the page." I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to fit any students visual, auditory and kinesthetic styles of learning. I want every student to have a strong technical foundation so they intentionally break any "rule" they wish.
I believe a music education is simply not complete without an introduction technology i
ntegration. In addition to musical skills, my lessons will include the basics to learning how to record your playing and compositions. Learning how to sing, play piano, and write music is way to better understand yourself and can also be a crucial foundation to a fruitful, creative career. Let me be the guide you to becoming the musician you want to be.
