About Karen
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. I have studied piano with Gisa Adler at New School of Music in Philadelphia, PA. I taught public school in the Conestoga Valley School District in Lancaster County, PA and I have taught private piano for over ten years.
I love music and I love teaching - seeing my students progress and reach their goals. I believe music should be a pleasant experience and a demanding and ill - spirited teacher can ruin a student. I am NOT one of these. You will find me patient and supportive.

*** Lesson Details ***
To be an accomplished pianist you must learn all the basics well. These include music symbology which enables you to read music so you can translate it into the sound on the piano. In order to play the music written on the page you must train your
fingers to do what you need them to do - so you will have finger exercises and scales to practice to enable to play pieces/songs you like. In order to accomplish all this we will use a piano method designed to teach you these things little by little so you won't get overwhelmed. One step at a time towards your goal - self enjoyment, being the life of the party, accompany the chorus, play the songs you hear on the radio or perhaps even become a renowned pianist on stage or in the theater. Whatever your goal you will need to practice and you must have a piano or at least a keyboard. The method we use will depend on the student's age, reading level, past experience with piano or other instruments and I will take into consideration your goals. If you are interested in popular music there will be a point (when you are ready) when you will be able to add this type of music to the lesson music. How quickly you grow musically depends greatly on the quality of your practice time - thus you will determine your rate of progress.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I like to purchase new materials myself for the student based on their needs at the time. They need a decent notebook for listing practice items. I usually have the method book, with note-speller for beginners, theory for more advanced, and additional pieces (non-method) as appropriate. Hanon is a staple. I use various other materials to remedy finger technique and rhythm issues as learned from my teachers and those devised by myself.

*** Specialties ***
I prefer to use a variety of materials. At the first lesson I assess reading ability, interest, physical ability and attention span to determine what materials are appropriate for the student. All students will learn scales, finger exercises, pieces and theory. I have used Thompson, Schaum, Pace, Fletcher and Alfred in my teaching - and frequently a combination there-of.

About Joshua
Joshua M. earned degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of music and Jordan College of Fine Arts. He composes and performs with several chamber music groups in New York City.

Bass lessons always begin with 5 minutes of scales, arpeggios or etudes to warm up. We will sometimes take a few minutes to analyze the music we perform, as that helps us understand how to perform it.

30 minutes: work on music

Rachel was great! She made me feel very comfortable and taught me so much about singing in the short time that we had. She is extremely knowledgeable about the human voice in general and teaches about proper technique that will not only boost your confidence but will keep you singing down the road. Definitely would recommend for all skill levels!

Rachel is most excellent, and quite learned in the surprisingly confusing art of singing. There are large framed pieces of paper confirming her advanced knowledge next to the piano, one of which is in all caps so it's super official. She's patient but knows the benefits of pushing what you think your singing limits are, and shows you see the whole process from a different, more helpful perspective.

About Thilana
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelors of Arts in Education and from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Arts in Education Administration. I have been teaching piano and voice lessons for over 15 years in my own music business servicing the South Jersey area.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students how to apply basic, effective techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano, gospel piano and contemporary keyboard. I can teach students to read music and pursue musical excellence, to learn how
to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

As a professional recording artist, I have released my own project, Psalms 37:25 in April of 2016. I have written songs for gospel independent artists, choirs, and worship teams. I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic songwriters.

My personal passion is to develop the whole musician towards their personal development, sound, and style. I strongly believe that a strong foundation in theory and technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
