I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to the advanced level. This is pretty much standard practice within the brass family :)

The last four years I have been playing worship music for church services in Houston and Austin, TX. I feel like the Lord wants me to now teach the younger generation how to worship God with instruments. I started playing the trumpet in 6th grade and I was in the high school band for five years. I was in the All-Region Band every year from 7th grade through 12th grade and I once made it to Area while in high school. I play primarily hymns, but I am open to adding select anointed praise and worship songs. I think that hymns are a good starting place for those learning to worship God, since they are shorter songs and easier to play rather than something more lengthy and complicated. I'm very patient and I'm a trained and certified teacher as I used to teach and tutor high school science previously. Playing an instrument and worshiping God is something that should be fun and enjoyable, but also involves practice and hard-work. I look forward to working with you and your child, so

*Brass teacher with 20 Years of performance and music education
Hello, and welcome to brass lessons!
My goal is to help you the learner feel empowered with resources, practice skills, and confidence enough to continue learning your instrument and reach the next level with or without help. I truly believe that anyone can learn to play an instrument!
Teaching, learning, and music are passions of mine! Whether you are a beginner who has never played an instrument before, or an experienced musician, I have experience with all levels and am thrilled to teach you.
Euphonium is my primary instrument, but I have experience teaching and performing on all of the brass instruments, and competed on a national level at the Leonard Falcone Festival two times!
I have taught instrumental music for 16 years in the public schools, and have taught privately for over 20 years. I have my bachelors in Music Education, and my masters in conducting.

I have a wealth of experience as a trumpeter and music teacher, and hold three degrees in music: DMA from Univ. of Georgia, MM from UT-Austin, and BM from N. Dakota State Univ. I am trained mostly in and play primarily "classical" trumpet, but have experience performing and teaching jazz and pop/commercial styles. Working with kids and adults on music is enjoyable and fulfilling, and I strive to help students as much as possible.
