About Robert
I started playing guitar at age 11, taking lessons at the local music studio in Hackensack, NJ. I became heavily influenced by The Beatles after hearing their music and as a teenager played in local rock groups, having some success being in the bands Jona's Ark and The Yorkshire Pudding, opening for artists Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, John Mayall and backing up Gary U.S. Bonds. I started playing piano at 19 when I took a group piano class in college. I attended Berklee College of Music and studied guitar with Bill Leavitt and Pat Metheny. That's where I started learning about all the great jazz artists from Duke Ellington to Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Wes Montgomery to name a few. While at Berklee I also developed a love of the classical guitar and it's repertoire. After Berklee, I became a freelance musician and played guitar for
The Drifters, Del Shannon, The Shirelles, The Marvelettes, The Crystals, Chuck Berry, Leslie Gore and believe it or not Tiny Tim. I played guitar, harmonica, mandolin and banjo in productions of: Hair, Tommy, Big River, Fiddler On The Roof and Grease. I composed my own music and performed and co-wrote with others who also wrote their own music. I have always taught private guitar lessons as far back as I can remember. One notable student was Stevie Wonder's son Keita who I taught for 2 years at Stevie's home in northern New Jersey as well as CBS News Anchor Charles Osgood's daughter Annie. Currently I teach 20 private guitar students a week.. From 1994 to 2000, I was the guitarist for The Royal Scam (a Steely Dan Tribute) and during that period I was hired by Hal Leonard Music Corp. to write a guitar transcription book called "The Best of Steely Dan". I was also hired by Brother International Corp. to compose and record a national radio jingle called "P-Touch", with Corey Glover from the rock band Living Colour doing the vocal tracks.
In 1996 I went to William Paterson University to obtain my teacher certification in music education. After the 9/11 attacks, I co-wrote and arranged "America Home Of The Free". The song was used to raise thousands of dollars for the victims of The World Trade Center attacks. Presently I divide my time between teaching, which I enjoy as much as performing and playing guitar with a jazz quartet called ....and All That Jazz, whose 2005 CD "Reflections" was recorded, mixed and mastered in my home based 24 track recording studio in northern NJ. I am also involved in a mandolin / classical guitar project called Music Of The Ages and perform with a 10 piece band called Epic Soul.
As a teacher I am very patient with students and enjoy helping them reach their own musical goals. I emphasize knowing the basics and encourage students to study music theory and basic reading of standard notation. I always ask my students to bring in songs they want to learn as a way to motivate them to practice more.

*** Lesson Details ***
GUITAR: I expect my students to practice at least 5 days a week for at least a 1/2 hour per day. I use the Suzuki method for young students ages 8 to10. We continue learning basic folk songs by ear and then start reading standard notation and basic theory within 6 to 8 months along with classical guitar duets. For older students I use the Hal Leonard guitar method. After 3 months of lessons students can expect to know the basic open position chords and strum patterns to some basic songs as well as some famous guitar riffs and also be able to read some basic melodies in standard notation. After 6 months students will be able to play a 12 bar blues and improvise with the pentatonic and blues scales as well as learn moveable scales and chords and apply these to songs.

PIANO: I also start young piano students with the Suzuki method so they can play some five finger familiar melodies in a short time period. Then we progress to reading notation and eventually adding chord accompaniment to melodies. I use the Faber piano method for reading standard notation.

*** Studio Equipment ***
24 track recording studio, room for parents to sit 14' x 21'...completely furnished studio with guitars, amps, piano, drum machine, synthesizer, microphones...the works.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students need a good quality and proper size guitar (for very young students) a music stand (for their home use) a foot stool, a metronome and books I assign along with an 8 1/2" X 11" blank manuscript book and a folder with side pockets to hold handout sheets. Piano students need their own instrument and the above materials minus the foot stool.

*** Specialties ***
Suzuki classical guitar, classic rock, blues, jazz , popular, funk, country, folk, finger picking and pick style and piano.

About Dominic
Dominic M., America’s Tenor, has been singing in one form or another since the age of four. As a young man, Dominic began honing his skills of singing and acting through Community Theater. His voice and career were forever changed when vocal coach and mentor, Suzanne Ferris-Hammer introduced him to the great voice of Mario Lanza. From the moment Dominic heard the voice of Mario Lanza, he began to fashion his own voice in that image.

Dominic continued to expand his career by developing his own show, which includes the songs of Mario Lanza in their original keys. These shows were held in some of the finest NYC Cabarets such as Don’t Tell Mama, Duplex Café, Danny’s Skylight Café, Café 44, and Eighty Eights. He has also performed these shows at The New Palace of the Performing Arts of New Jersey and at Odettes in New Hope, PA.

Dominic
has performed in professional dinner theater with Palame Enterprises. Some of the great shows he performed in were “Singing In The Rain”, “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, and an original production called “Ellis Island”, in which he had a starring role.

In 1999 Dominic competed in The World Championships of Performing Arts. This event featured over 1500 competitors from 30 countries competing in the disciplines of acting, comedy, dance, singing and modeling. After five days of competition, Dominic was named the first Grand Champion Performer of the World. Following the championship, Dominic was asked to perform at the Athletes and Entertainers for Kids Shaqtacular 4, with such celebrities as Shaquille O’Neal, Paula Abdul, Bruce Jenner, and Jeffery Osborne. Dominic Has also performed with Pat Cooper, Tom Jones, The Duprees, Rod Stewart, Smokey Robinson and Many More.

Another dream came true when Damon Lanza, son of Mario Lanza, and long time friend of the Lanza’s, Bob Dolfi, bestowed Dominic with the honor of singing at the Mario Lanza Society’s 38th Anniversary Pre-Ball Dinner in Philadelphia. Since that event, Dominic has had the honor of performing annually in the church where Mario Lanza first sang at the age of 16. At the 40th annual ball, he co-hosted the pre-ball dinner with Katherine Grayson, co-star of Mario Lanza. Dominic has continued to expand his repertoire performing at the Claridge Casino in Atlantic City and as a guest artist at the Atlantic City Film Festival.Dominic is also in his fourth Year as a headliner at the nations largest Italian festival in Milwaukee WI. other festivals have been in Tampa and Chicago plus many more.

With D.A. Productions L.L.C., Dominic has also released four albums “Second Star To The Right...”, featuring the songs of Mario Lanza,Opera to Broadway, the Arias, and One Voice.Working with Dominic on these albums have been Grammy award winners such as Tony Camillo, Jimmy Wisner, Ron Alexumburg, and most recently Steve Dorff. Dominic has been recognized in Who’s Who In Music, awarded the National Choral Award and the Governor’s Award for Opera in New Jersey.

He has studied with notable teachers such as Jerome Hines, Steve Mosel, Yass Haskashima, Dr. David Blackburn, and Marcello Garafalo. For the past few years, Dominic has been singing across the United States with the international sensation “The Three Waiters”, He has been featured at special events in Little Italy NYC including the San Gennaro Festival and has been named and continues to be “Little Italy’s American Tenor”. The most important accomplishment Dominic will always strive for is to make people happy with the gift he has been blessed with.

Lessons will consist of focusing on the ligament in the voice on letting it stand alone so the voice will last well past normal years. The sessions are fun because if its not than its not worth doing. What you can expect to achieve is on two different levels. For just a hobby the health of the voice is first than simplistic views to maintain without damage. Some one who is serious is to advance in strength health and vitality, while putting together a show that can be produce through the many avenues I have. For people more in a career mode shows in NYC, records, and competitions are all available. We also focus on the music you love and learn it through communication between you and me. Imparts that knowledge to her students as she teaches them to play the piano.

About Gavin
Teaching guitar, and music for over 13 years, 10+ years of that time spent in professional music schools and shops. In addition, I spent 6 years in a special needs school, teaching general music, and guitar to students with learning and behavior issues.
I have had the pleasure of learning from numerous guitar teachers and mentors over the years including, T.T. Quick guitarist, David Dipietro.
Recently having toured the US with national acts in the band McClinton, sharing stages with Saving Abel, Adelita's Way, Framing Hanley, Red, Winger, Steelheart, Bad Seed Rising, LA Guns and many more. I'm proud to say that I have taken the skills I've honed during those years to stages and studios around the country.
I can help you make sense of concepts that many students find confusing. Focusing on the goals the Students wishes to achieve. Ultim
ately, I teach a student to be able to progress independently. Learning songs is fine, and a great way to get motivated, but in the end it's about learning the concepts that allow the student to learn those songs on his/her own and be able to use those elements create their own music.
I teach all styles, and levels.
I am currently unable to offer lessons at my home studio, but still provide lessons on Skype or in your home.
Also offering lessons for Bass guitar.

I'm a professional musician, photographer, and photography teacher. I graduated from Hofstra University with a major in Public Relations and a minor in photography.

I learned to teach photography working as an aide in the university darkrooms - running small group classes, and providing a critical eye on larger projects.

My musical teaching expertise stems from 18 years of cello performance, preferring to work with new students, and intermediate students looking for artistic direction. When working with others, I prefer to have students have projects of their own aspirations, in order to help drive their passion for what they're doing.

For photography lessons, expect to go to different locations each day, to capture a wide variety of lighting situations and interesting landscapes in Northern Jersey - remember your hiking boots!
