I teach clarinet to students at all levels. I like for students to play duets and to concentrate on reading music effectively. I use tuners and metronomes extensively to get train students to play in time and in tune.
About John
My teaching style involves listening carefully to my students and then recommending music to them that I think they can play. I also like for students to take an active role in choosing their own music. I like for students to play in the lesson as much as possible. I like to play duets with them be

I teach clarinet primarily through the tried and true Rubank method. Students will learn how to properly care for the instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), reed selection, and repertoire. I also employ custom exercises specifically for clarinet to help my students progress the fastest.
About Kyle
Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay wi

Another way I have been involved with Mark is through his teaching. The SCB has a commitment to fostering music education in our area. Mark has served as a teacher and mentor to many high school band students in our area. We run an Honor Band, a Summer Music Camp and regular playing opportunities for middle and high school students. Mark's hard work and high level of knowledge has always helped our groups..
Mark is also a very fine musical instrument repairman. He does a great job repairing both woodwind and brass instruments. For the past decade or so he has been my main repairman for my clarinets and saxophones that I play professionally.
When Mark and his family decided to leave our area, it was a big loss for us. Besides myself, many other music teachers, performers and students miss the influence of Mark. I know that Mark will continue his high standards and exceptional commitment where ever he is. Our loss is your gain. I enthusiastically recommend Mark Levenson to you.
I know his knowledge base is deep and look forward to actually picking up something new and redirecting bad habits. Tone, Breathing, relaxing, improving the embouchure enjoy what your doing was his focus on the first visit. 1st lesson five stars...

The thing I love most about playing clarinet is that there’s always something new to learn. In our clarinet lessons, I want us to embrace this mindset, and have fun!
I have 7+ years of teaching experience from beginning to to advanced levels. In our lessons, we’ll focus on building up fundamental skills, note reading, learning new pieces, and how to create thoughtful, virtuosic music.
The most important thing to me is to making my students feel welcome, heard, and to give them the platform to express themselves. Music is a tool and something that allows us to communicate our feelings in an entirely new way. As a teacher, I want to help them navigate that process and learn so many new things through clarinet!
About Michelle
Michelle is an enigmatic clarinetist, specializing in chamber music and contemporary music. She was named the 1st Prize Winner of both the 2019 Sidney Forrest Clarinet Competition and 2017 Long Island Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, where she performed Carl Maria von Weber’s 1st Clarinet Con
