I have studied classical voice from the age of 13 with instructors from The Metropolitan Opera. I have sung classical arias in Italian, German, French and Latin.

In our lesson, we will focus on the three pillars of singing: Alignment, breathing, and relaxation. We will work on classical vocal technique through simple exercises. I have exercises for people of all vocal ranges and types. I will adapt my lessons to your specific needs.

We will select the perfect music for you to work on, and I will accompany you on piano. If the music is in a foreign language, I can work on pronunciation with you. If needed, I will record piano tracks for you to practice in between lessons.

Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can't wait to get started!

Meghan dove right into the lesson, customizing it at the perfect level for our daughter's experience. We liked that she was prepared and maximized the time. She has a youthful personality and knowledge of pop songs which is a great personality fit with our 13 year old daughter. She also customized the lesson and song choice in a way that would appeal to my daughter. My daughter is actually excited to take lessons and is already planning her list of songs she wants to learn.

I have been teaching voice for 17 years now. I have taught to students aged between 17 - 60 and also have worked with children aged between 4 - 14 and helped them get into children choruses in opera houses as well as preparing them later for conservatory auditions. As i am also a biodynamic breathwork trauma release system therapist , miyofascial energy release massage therapist and holding meditation workshops , i have a deeper understanding of body pressure , tension release . I also use human voice to release trauma combined with breathwork and use breath and bodywork to use voice as a whole instrument. Through these techniques i can also help you find a real connection with your heart center and work on your music through these techniques. Great singing comes from being the song itself , staying in the flow , releasing and freeing yourself with the air , while you are balanced in your body and in the spine. It is all about feeling yourself more comfortable in your being and to be ...

In my Voice lessons I use a combination of excersises and pieces. Student will be expected to practice from the Vaccai vocal studies book as well as learn classical songs in English, Italian, and German. If there is any musical theater pieces that a student is interested in or must learn for a theater class, we can of course learn those as well.
In addition to this I also teach Solfege sight-singing (Do, Re, Mi etc) which is an amazing tool for ear training as well as voice training.

About Kathleen

After playing the flute and piano on my own for seven years, I began my classical music education at the age of sixteen with international soloist Jun Kubo. Only a year and a half after I began my studies with Jun Kubo, I was accepted into The College of New Jersey for a Bachelor's program in Music

Tania is an awesome teacher. She knows her technique and knows how to push her students forward at a pace they can handle!
This is my first experience with having singing lessons after many years of doing my own version of "Carpool Karaoke." Tania has been wonderful. She is very encouraging and makes it a safe singing environment for a novice. I have just signed up for 5 more lessons. (And her cats are very cute too.)

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I want to help my students develop their vocal ability by meeting them where they are and applying the lessons I have learned from practical experience as well as from what I have been taught. My goal is to equip students with the skills so that they can develop a reliable technique that works under all situations.

In 2013, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies (with regular appearances at Dallas Opera) and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I was an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera from 2011-2012. I received my Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts, my M.M. in Voice Performance from Boston University and my B.M. in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College.

Her positive feedback encouraged me to do better along with her comforting wit and humorous exercises that really made me open up. I believe she was the absolute best person to help me along and open up more than I had ever before and I think if she continues educating that she will do amazing things, and have fun all the while!"

"Kate is a great teacher! She made me feel comfortable quickly and helped me open up out of my shy self. I was able to take a theater audition and stay calm! What started as just wanted a few lessons, went on to be studying with her for 3 years. She transformed the way I sing and gave me so much confidence in every aspect. 100% would recommend!"

"I have been seeing Serena for help with some obstacles I have come up against in my study of classical voice. She has been very quick to identify what is getting in my way and has given me specific approaches to improve my technique. I have heard her sing and can say that she is superb, musical and has a solid and excellent technique.

I have worked with voice teachers who are good singers but have not the vaguest idea of what they are doing to sing well. This is certainly not the case with Serena. She communicates absolutely clearly what is needed for you to progress.

She is also very kind, approachable, encouraging and puts you at ease right away.

I would, without hesitation, give her the highest recommendation."
Took Classical Voice lessons from Serena E.
"Vandi is kind, talented and very well educated. I have worked with her in the past and she is fun to work with and always wants what is best for her students. She helped me pass my promotional test in college. I could not have done it without her help and more importantly, friendship!"
