I have had the great opportunity to teach all levels for over 15 years in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the USA. I have held positions as guitar teacher at many Colleges, Universities and Companies around the UK and USA. I have worked in the distant learning department at the Manhattan School of Music, teaching students around the country from their studio base. With many of my students going onto music schools such as The New School, NYC, Queens College, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire I believe that I have a wide range of experience with all age ranges from beginners to beyond advanced. I focus on making the lessons as fun and engaging as possible whilst keeping on track to certain goals set by myself and the student throughout the year.

My mission is to give my students the most meaningful and enjoyable musical experience through theory lessons. Having studied with multiple master music educators from the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, I understand that the inspiration and positive influence is the best gift a music teacher can give to a student. Bringing my experience as an international concert pianist and education from the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music , I focus on proper technical foundation, sensitivity in sounds, while keeping the excitement of creating music.
My students have been recipients of ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of music) and RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) certifications in both Piano and Theory. The ABRSM and RCM exams are international music exam given twice a year to students all around the world.

Gene is a great instructor. He is very kind and attentive. I'm a beginner and I do mean beginner. But Gene takes time and let's me know that I can accomplish playing regardless of my age. I'm an old hippy! So learning songs like "Imagine" and "Knocking on Heavens Door" is right up my alley! I look forward to my classes! Here comes the 54 year old hippy with guitar on her hip!!! Thanks Gene!!

Hi there. I'm Andrew. I have been teaching for about 10 years now and it has become one of the things I truly love to do. When I am not writing, reading, gigging, touring, or recording, I love to teach people the things that have made my life so colorful.
With a little push in the right direction, you can become an active participant in the things you love. No more watching from the sidelines. Become the musician, writer, speaker, reader that you have always wanted to be. It's never too late! Trying something new or asking for help can be intimidating, but I am happy to show you that the rewards far exceed the costs. Trust me, I speak from experience. I've taught personalized lessons for nearly 10 years now without a single complaint. At this point in my musical career, the majority of my experience and attitude has come from being "in the field". I've played everything from small dive bars to music festivals with crowds of thousands and been on tour and lived the whole life more ...
Music is my life. As cheesy as that phrase goes, for me, it holds true. Everything I do and have been doing has been geared towards music. I've been in one working/gigging band or other without break for the past 10 years. I began intensely learning to play guitar at the age of 9 and have not stop

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I look forward to helping you grow as a musician. I studied at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles under some of the best in the business, and I am currently based out of Lousiana. The concepts I cover will help build a solid foundation in technique and theory, as well as learn to identify and perform multiple styles and genres whether its Rock, Jazz, Country, R&B, or anything else. I can also help with advanced theory and less common styles such as finger style chord melody, and slide guitar. I can help you learn not just how to play music, but also provide you with the tools to create.
I am a professional guitarist, song writer, arranger, and producer with experience in a wide array of genres and styles. I studied at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California under some of the best in the business. I was born and currently reside in Louisiana and have preformed and recorded

What are the best songs for boys going through puberty, dealing with those inevitable voice breaks and cracks? Find out in this guest post by voice teacher Molly R... The adolescent years are difficult no matter what. There is a lot of pressure to be accepted and seen as “cool” by your peers, and it seems as though these young people are always riding a roller coaster of emotions! As if it weren’t already hard enough to select vocal repertoire, boys around the ages of 12 …

Singing in a “breathy voice” has a mixed reputation among singers and educators, and for good reason: it can be risky. In this article, we’ll discuss the mechanics of singing with a breathy voice, if it’s harmful, and how use to the technique safely. Remember the spectacularly cheesy film “A Walk to Remember”? In this 2002 film, Mandy Moore sings a pop ballad called “Only Hope” using excessive breathiness to create a fragile, emotionally charged aura for her character. …

Practice - it’s something that most developing pianists generally dread. But there is a place where practice time is a precious commodity - the music conservatory. During my time as an undergraduate piano major, signing up and getting time to reserve a practice room was a ritual in patience, cunning, and bargaining. Because there were limited spaces for students to obtain the time they needed to prepare for tests, juries, and performances, every moment to prepare at a piano was preci …
