I can’t say enough about Paul. Aside from his technical skill he was able to work with me on just the right level with just the right sense of humor! I wish I could have continued but my schedule made it impossible. But thanks to Paul I now have greater technical knowledge and will be able to go a bit future on my own, at least until until we can continue our lessons! I will truly miss our our time at the piano. You would be quite lucky to have Paul as your teacher!

As an adult trying to get back into music, he is making the process interedting ang challenging without being overbearing. I highly recommend Paul for music lessons and I look forward to each of our sessions.

I will break down the nuances of learning the ukulele in a friendly, clear, and articulate manner. We will discuss various concepts of the ukulele in the styles and songs you enjoy most.

About Adam
A graduate of the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Music and Psychology and trained at renowned National Guitar Workshop, Adam is an experienced teacher and performer on the guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass in a variety of styles, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, and folk. Adam loves to share his passion for music with others, and ever since his first student, an autistic child, Adam has sought to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability.

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to teaching music is strictly an individualized one, catering to the specific interests and goals of each student. I believe that if learning music is truly enjoyable and fun, students will develop a sincere love for their instrument. In teaching children, my emphasis is on instilling in them a love of music. While progressing in mus
ic obviously requires preparation outside of lessons, I consciously avoid asking students to practice. Instead, I incorporate the music and styles that appeal most to the student and use them as vehicles for teaching concepts.

I strive to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability. I organize an annual recital to showcase my students' talents and hard work.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide all music and instructional materials, and ask that students provide a clean, quiet area to hold our lesson, ideally with a music stand. I also ask that a student provide their own instrument. If providing an instrument is not possible, I ask that the student notify me so I can provide an instrument for them in the interim.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in a wide range of styles on the acoustic and electric guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass.

I explain music theory in a fun, clear, and articulate manner and show its benefits and application in song writing, learning music, and playing by ear. My extensive background in rock, classical, pop, folk, and jazz allows for a truly cater my instruction to my student's tastes.

I make it my mission to structure my lessons on my student's goals and interests and avoid imposing concepts that don't interest my students.

Adam is a teacher par excellence. I am self taught from a well known book. I was doing well I thought until I got stuck. Adam gently showed me where I erred and made great suggestions for me to move on correctly. I never felt rushed or “ put down.” Adam was patient, open for questions, encouraging, comforting. I know I need much help to correct and advance in guitar from matters such as tuning, restringing, reading, and other things too many to write about. I look forward to my next lesson with enthusiasm.

- Strum patterns

- Songwriting (optional)

About Tammy
I conduct group lessons for young children, which I am unable to state on my profile/list of services here. You can send me a message if you are interested in them!

I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others.

I started playing the piano at around the age of four, and helped out as a substitute teacher at my mother's music school back in Singapore while in High School. I left shortly after to pursue music at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated summa cum laude in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production!

My students range from as 3.5 years old, to the grandmother of a couple of my students. I wo
rk mostly with children, but have a handful of adult beginner students I work with as well.

Everyone is different - and I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. I'll push you (a little!), to make you realize just how much you can do!

Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from jazz to pop to classical, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and perhaps (if you like) record them!

The Ukulele is a beautiful instrument that is fun and easy way to enter into the world of music! My approach brakes down playing Ukulele into its simplest technical and musical parts to save unwanted frustration and instead, provide a comfortable, confident foundation for students to accomplish their goals with the instruments. Lessons prepare students to play songs, read chords, and a variety of other skills. As a Ukulele player, I have years of accompaniment experience as both a singer song writer and children's entertainer.

About Max
I am a professional drummer, hand drummer, music producer and recording artist. I graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a degree in music education and percussion performance. I am a New York State Certified music educator with over 6 years of private and classroom teaching experience.

As a teacher, I give 100% of my effort to make sure students are seeing real, measurable learning happening every week. Its my passion to make music fun and accessible to every learner, no matter of skill, age or background. I believe in an individualized teaching approach that caters to needs of every unique student, because I believe whole heartedly that every person is capable of learning music, they just need the right tools to know how.

I have studied and worked as a professional drummer, hand drummer, and classical percussionist for more
the 10 years. I perform and record with bands, ensembles and singer song writers in Brooklyn and New York City, and have played with professional orchestras and in opera productions. I can teach students music reading, expert technique and any rhythms or style of music they are passionate about. I want every musician I work with to eventually have freedom, confidence, and creative expression on their instrument.

I have been playing classical and contemporary piano for more the 12 years. I can teach students to read music and pursue advanced classical ability, to learn how to play popular music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

Through collegiate teacher training, I can teach the following instruments to beginners of all ages in a physically healthy and cognitively appropriate way. I offer the most natural approach to these instrument with to goal of getting students playing songs and playing as quickly and efficiently as possible. (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Trumpet, Violin, Clarinet).

Music production, recoding and song writing have been a part of my professional music career for the the last 5 years and I have recorded and produced scores for films, recorded albums, and live performances. I offer lessons in learning how to record and use professional music production software. Record your own music, and mix it into music that you have share to major platforms like spotify and itunes.

It turned out to be a terrific experience and he taught me an awful lot about dynamics on drums in spite of that NOT being his instrument. He's a great teacher! And ARTIST. Beginning lessons for children or adults. Great if you've never played or are new to playing. Music theory can be included as an option.

About Mary E
I am a professional violin/fiddle player and singer, and I perform and teach music classes all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. I truly enjoy teaching and love seeing to the students needs and fulfilling what they need in order to progress as a musician. You are the most important part of our classes.

I worked for the NYC Department of Education as a substitute classroom and general music teacher (2015-2018). I have a background in students with special needs and special education. Se habla espanol.

I was award a full-tuition scholarship through an audition for the North American World Scholarship Program to attend Berklee College of Music. There I earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (2003).

I have been teaching and performing music professionally for 23 years. I began my studies as a young child with the Suzuki Method (whic
h focuses on both learning by ear, substantial parental involvement, and then later reading music.) In high school I began studying jazz/blues improvisation, composition, and music theory. At Berklee College of Music I focused on jazz and all kinds of contemporary and traditional music.

After graduating I was awarded a position at the Henry Mancini Institute (2003) in Los Angeles and was privileged to work with some of the biggest names in music including Diana Krall and Christian McBride.

My favorite type of music to play these days is traditional Irish folk music, or "Irish trad". For the past few years I have immersed myself heavily in New York's traditional Irish music scene. I play regularly at several establishments in New York City alongside some of the city's finest Irish music players.

A large part of my teaching style is that you are having FUN, you are enjoying what you are learning, no matter your skill level. Even if you are an absolute beginner, we might work on playing the chorus or the riff of the song. For example, one year I had a very happy 6-year old boy learn the theme to Star Wars and another college student learning the music of MGMT.

We met Mary-Elizabeth for the first time in January 2009 by recommendation of The Royal Danish Academy of Music.
We were looking for a private violin teacher for my daughter Elisabeth, age 13, who at that time had never played an instrument before and was clearly shy and nervous about the project.
From the very first lesson, Mary-Elizabeth not only showed the skills and the basic technique of teaching the violin to younger children, but most impressing was her enthusiasme and joy that immidiately spread to the student. You could tell, that this was a teacher who loved playing too!!
And that opened all the doors for the difficult practising and today I have a daughter who enjoys so much playing that she brings the violin on every holiday to make sure she always has the instrument nearby!
I can sincerely recommend Mary-Elizabeth for teaching and I guarantee you, the students will love playing and look foreward to her lessons!
