Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!
History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.
Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!
Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!
I have been teaching crochet since 2013, with levels ranging from beginner to advanced. I can teach students the basic stitches to some of my favorite, more advanced techniques, including crocheting in the round, charts, lace, and colorwork.
My name is Rhiannon and I am a third generation crafter. Originally I went to school for art history, all the while crafting. Eventually I had enough of studying other people's work and instead wanted to make my own and empower others to do the same.
I consider myself to be the "Swiss Army Knife" of crafters. I have delved into nearly every craft and love passing this knowledge onto my students. For these reasons I have a diverse range of crafts I can teach, including: knitting, crochet, embroidery, hairpin lace, needle felting, and shuttle tatting. In addition to my passion for a variety of crafts, I also love teaching a variety of skill levels, from students beginning their first stitch to someone who wants to redesign a pattern.
With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn I can teach you any of a variety of crafts.
Rhiannon was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Looking forward to the next lessons!

I'm enjoying my classes. I've been bringing Rhiannon stitches I want to learn without any notice, and she is always able to help me on the spot to learn them. Her flexibility (both in what I want to learn and in scheduling) makes private classes a pleasant and worthwhile investment. Highly recommend!

I am a full time online English Teacher, and a previous daycare owner for 10+years. I have tutored many of preschool and elementary students, with math, reading, phonics, writing etc for years and my students academic grades have improved tremendously; within the first few lessons. My teaching philosophy, is that learning requires more than just educating someone or acquiring new knowledge. In my opinion, I feel, that it is more so rather, are entire inner and outer circle of well being; which is why my approach to teaching is from an aural, visual and curiosity perspective. Clay Patrick Bedford, once said: “You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives” My teaching techniques are always challenging. However, very exciting, interesting, with a blast of fun and lots of activities; very suitable and appropriate for your child's grade level. I always assess, recognize strengths, weaknesses, and structure my lessons accordingly. This helps me to monitor the students’ progress and provided insight to their expectations. Whenever my students learn something new, I stress how much they have achieved so far, rather than pointing out how much more they need to learn. During my teaching experience I have observed that a confident learner progresses more quickly than a discouraged one. My number one goal, is your child's success. Let's aim for the stars!
I learned crocheting since I was a little girl. I can make hats, gloves, scarves, decoration stuffs... I love to share my hobbies with all my students!
I was born in Vietnam and just came to America 2 years ago. Teaching is my passion, both Vietnamese and Crocheting . My students said that I am very patient, enthusiastic and responsible! And the improvement of students is my happiness!
I want you to enjoy crocheting! Let's smile, make jokes, and learn a new hobby together! After your initial lesson you will have a grasp on basic stitches. From there, I will help you develop your crochet skills so you can venture out and begin creating for yourself or for gifts! Nothing beats a hand-made gift!
After each lesson, I will give you a small assignment to work on that will help you develop. I will let you lead the pace. Crocheting is fun and should never be stressful!
I have been crocheting since I was 12 years old. Throughout the years I crocheted blankets, granny squares, Character hats, beanies, scarves, amigurumi, baby clothes, and so much more. Crocheting has been an outlet where I de-stress and unleash my creativity! I always have a can-do mind! If I can imagine it, I will crochet it!
I am a very back-to-basics teacher. Crochet is a craft where learning the absolute basics will allow you to create incredible things. Just using the basics of chaining, single crochet, double crochet, color-changing, and crochet in the round, I was able to invent patterns for and create over a dozen unique pillows for my friends. Learning a stitch like a half-double back post crochet may sound impressive, and can allow you to create a unique design, but it's not necessary to make something beautiful.
I will walk you through the basics of crochet and teach you to make a few basic things to get a feel for the craft. I can also assist you in reading a pattern you may have found somewhere, as well as trying to determine how something you found was made so you can try to recreate it. I will also walk you through the basic terminology and mechanics of the craft, such a hook size, yarn weight, and things like that.
I am a law student currently looking to do some extra work and make a little money on the side. I began to crochet about three and a half years ago, picking up a how-to book, a hook, and some yarn from my local Micheals. I wanted something to do with my hands while watching TV aside from playing Minecraft for the thousandth time, and crochet became the answer.
Crochet is an excellent hobby, especially for a person with ADHD like myself. It allows me to occupy my hands when doing something else, while at the same time creating creative and useful. It can also be a great stress reliever, allowing you to get lost in the repetitive, almost mindless motions of the hook and yarn.
I look forward to meeting with you and passing on the knowledge I have acquired.
Sharing my passion! I have been crocheting for 4 decades and I want to share this amazing art form with you! I have taught individuals from 6 years old and up, beginner to intermediate. Learn at your pace. Once you have gained the basics, there is no limit to the beautiful, quirky, and amazing things you will be able to create.
I am more than a crochet instructor, I am a self-professed craft-aholic. If there is a creative process, I am ready to try it. Even more than doing, I love sharing the skills I have learned.
If you have never held a hook or a skein of yarn before, or even if you have and didn't feel you were successful, I believe I can teach you this craft. There are basic skills you need to learn, but there are many ways they can be taught. If you have struggled in the past, we can try it a different way.
I believe everyone needs a creative outlet. I would love to be the one to help you find yours.

"My first lesson with Cheryl and I can already tell I will be doing MANY more. She is so easy to talk to and just has an over all great personality. She is
a great teacher and really knows how to give constructive criticism and let you know when you need to correct something without making you feel like you are doing something wrong, she has a really good way of saying things and an immense amount of patience!"
"AWESOME I so enjoy working with Karen! In advance of today’s lesson, we coordinated re work on a summer shawl Project. We both thought a summer shawl ad
dressing those summer air conditioned restaurants was a good project for folks like me that travel a bunch and need take along projects. With Karen’s guidance in mind, I bought gthe yarn. Then Karen showed me 6-9 different shawls she’s made so I could pick target shawl pattern that wasn’t above my ability and appealed to me. I’m now on my way; 3+Rows in and feeling confident of noteworthy progress til next session."
"Cheryl gave me my first "official" crochet lesson and it was time very well spent. Cheryl explained why every step is important to the whole process and
how to ensure I don't make the common mistakes (which I was making) so that my project would come out well. I WILL be back for more lessons!!!"
"She was very helpful and she knew what she was doing love her"
"I had an awesome learning experience with Karen. She is patient and knowledgeable and I definitely knew how to crochet when I left after just one lesson.
She showed me how to make a scarf and showed me how I can take those stitches and make a blanket. She taught me how to read the symbols and patterns and I can crochet!!!"
