Tony is a great teacher!

I started learning the clarinet half a year ago after playing the piano for almost 25 years. Even though I have a lot of music background, I had to start from scratch since I have no experience in any of the woodwind instruments. I'm glad I found Tony to be my clarinet teacher because not only he is a very patient person, he also notices my strengths and also weaknesses, so that I could spend more time on things that I need to work on to be better at the clarinet.
He is very easy to communicate, lessons are always fun and productive, I've been having a lot of fun picking up this new instrument!

I have been playing clarinet professionally for over ten years. My first performance was a production of "Guys and Dolls," and it opened up opportunities to play multiple woodwinds in all kinds of contexts. I am currently on-call to play with a number of symphony orchestras in town as well.
I am excited to share my passion for this beautiful instrument!

About Michael

I am a woodwind specialist with a degree in saxophone performance from the University of Arizona. I have been performing and competing since the fifth grade. Michael is an excellent teacher and he was so patient with my daughter (5th grade). She was way ahead of the other students in her class and he found additional music for her to learn so she wasn't bored.

When my 11 year old son first began saxophone lessons with Michael Weiss, he was a true beginner but within 5 months, he was playing a song at a recital! Michael is patient and kind but firm in his direction and has instilled confidence in my son that he can play whatever songs he wants to play with focus and practice. Michael is flexible and adept at tailoring his lessons to the individual's needs. I highly recommend him.

Students will receive private instruction from a former student of 3 master clarinetists, and will be able to learn various playing techniques to develop their skill and an excellent tone. I push students to progress to the extent of their ability, yet am always patient with students that need it, as the clarinet is a difficult instrument that doesn't always come easily.

About Troy

I am a positive and dedicated third generation private music instructor who was raised around music, being taught piano and clarinet from a young age. Performance experience includes playing as 1st clarinetist and concerto soloist with the prestigious Tacoma Youth Symphony, private music recitals

I have been playing clarinet for twelve years and have taught students of all ages and levels. In my lessons we will work on basic fundamental techniques (breathing, technique, etc) while also learning pieces that you can bring home and play for your family. I believe playing the clarinet is something that gives people the ability to increase their creativity level, confidence, and individual expression which is important to our daily lives. I want my students to be able to grow as individuals and learn to have fun with music through playing the clarinet!
