Music Theory is the Core of Understanding how ALL Music works anywhere in the world and applies to all Instruments. It's the insight into why we use certain Notes, Chords, & Scales and what makes them work. To have the knowledge is to be a Musician, which is to Understand that when writing a Song, or Improvising all thinks can work as long as you can make it work. It's the Musician who can figure out why it works so he or she will know where to go or what to play.

Jimmy is great, super down to earth. Went in with zero knowledge and am astonished at the difference in such a short time.

Jimmy does a great job teaching you physical elements of singing and really helped me understand what my body is doing when singing.

Awesome guy, can't say much else!

James does a great job of explaining what I need to do for my voice and how to get there with it. Breaking it down step by step. As someone who never had a voice lesson before hand, I can recommend him as a teacher.
Chris
Jimmy is fantastic. The foundations he helps to build in theory and technique are instrumental (heh) in becoming proficient with the guitar. He's also super accessible and responsive.

About Trevor

Every musician was first and foremost a fan of music. My love of music began when my mother took me to a performance of Beethoven's fifth symphony when, coincidentally, I was five. From that point, I started fervently listening to my mother's records (those are the huge, black monstrosities t

A lot of fun to work with and really knows his stuff. I'm more of a self-learner that needs gentle guidance and inspiration, rather than full-on instruction. Trevor responded perfectly to my needs and learning style and i'm having a great time, improving my guitar playing in the process. Can recommend fullheartedly for intermediate rock guitar players.

I was apprehensive in the beginning for my first in person ukulele lesson. I didn’t want to feel stupid or be a slow learner. But Chris Immediately made me feel comfortable and by the end of the lesson I felt I had made a friend. He is so knowledgeable and walked me through at my pace. After watching endless hours of YouTube ukulele videos, I finally understood the concepts with Chris’s help. Can’t wait till my next lesson with him.

"As Jim states on his bio, he teaches from age 8 and up. I'm one of his "up" students who's been playing guitar for a few years, but never took time to learn theory because I thought it was too confusing or difficult to learn. After being stuck in a rut for the past 30 years, I finally realized that I could be a guitar player, instead of just playing guitar, by understanding WHY I'm playing what I playing. I planned to take a few lessons to see how it would go. That was 4 months ago. Now when I pick up my guitar, I have a plan and am excited to learn more each week. Jim's approach to teaching theory makes it clear for anyone of any age or expertise. If you're young and want to learn the right way, Jim will teach you the right way. For us older folks, I found out you CAN teach an old dog new tricks... I highly recommend Jimmy!"
