Stephen has been giving our teenager daughter weekly lessons in "J-pop" dancing. Even though his background does not include this particular style, he has done a great job of staying ahead of our daughter, and-even more importantly-encouraging and motivating her to keep at it. (Since dancing is one of the few exercises she will do willingly, this is key!) She looks forward to the weekly lesson and so do we.

With an emphasis on strong foundations and musicality I would love to help anyone become a more well rounded dancer.

Whether you're just starting out or want to polish a few problem areas I'm here to help!

About Sara

Hello! I'm Sara!

I started dancing at the age of 3. I am well versed in Ballet, Modern and Jazz. I attended Joffrey San Antonio (2004) and Paul Taylor New York (2010) intensives.

While in high school I taught Ballet, Jazz, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes to dancers age 3-14.

In 2011 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy (which is the art or science of teaching).

Since moving to NYC 5 years ago I have been focused on performing with such dance companies as Exit 12 Dance Company (2011-2012) and Community Dance Project (2013-2014). While not dancing with specific companies I have choreographed and danced in two music videos.

I can't express my love for teaching enough! To know that I could help spark the passion of dance in a young person is extremely inspiring.

Please inc

lude your area and availability in your messages!

I would prefer to teach students with professional or aerobic goals. Social dancing is not one of my subjects.

Private Ballet Teacher

I am a professional ballet dancer and I love to help students achieve "clean" un-stylized classical technique, whether they hope to gain admittance into top ballet schools, summer programs or audition for companies. I began training at age 3 and have experience with small and large schools. For my high school years, I trained with American Ballet Theatre's JKO School, where I received ABT certification to teach Levels Pre-Ballet - 3, then did my post secondary training with Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto. Since graduating, I have danced with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens in Montreal and Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany. I would be more than happy to share tips and encourage any age student as they reach for their individual goals.

About Isabelle

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

I love sharing the beautiful classical art of ballet with young students! I like to keep class fun while gently helping students retain habits that encourage a language of clean classical technique through proper form, allowing them to work towards their creative potential. I received my early training starting at 2 1/2 in my hometown of Philadelphia and moved to New York after receiving an invitation to study with the JKO School at age 16. I furthered my training after graduation in Toronto with Canada's National Ballet School. SInce then I have danced professionally in Canada, Germany and Denmark. I am currently pursuing my interest in artistic collaborations with contemporary visual artists. When not dancing or working on photography and video projects, I enjoy sewing and design

ing pieces for a small clothing line.

"We (my grand daughter and I ) did not know what to expect. I did try to prepare by having the room and computer ready and by making notes about what G nee
ded to review. Sara is an excellent teacher and started with a warm up that included feet. G is a full time gymnast and her Achilles had been tight and sore and this was very beneficial. Sara had G doing basic barre work, then she worked on her musicality, progressions and turns. It provided G with the correction and attention that she cannot receive in her regular ballet class and best of all we were able to stay home. It is great for my grand daughter's situation because she does not have to commute one more time in the week. Visually Sara made corrections as G was doing her movement, that is a testament to Sara's professionalism, expertise and training. It also shows that even a technology deficient grandmother can make this work."
