Algebra can be a really nice topic! The only thing needed is to be shown how to do the equations! Math, in general, is about learning to look at things in new ways, and by doing so one may learn how to talk about the same old things in some new and interesting ways. I actually have knowledge of algebra and calculus. Therefore, I would be able to help bridge the two together and go over the multiple topics and tools in both. Because this is a somewhat more detailed endeavor, I would try to provide multiple examples either ahead of time or prepare them in advance to better supplement anyone looking for more outlets.
About Miguel
I am a first-generation college student and I hold both an associate’s of science in the general sciences and a bachelor's of science in Neuroscience & Cognitive Science with a distributed emphasis in neurobiology. My coursework largely consists of Matlab modeling, neurogenetics, cognitive science

My name is Mena. I have a strong background in math with a degree in Actuarial science and have been tutoring the SAT, ACT, Algebra 1&2, and Geometry for over four years. I have extensive knowledge of the testing strategies needed to make the exam fun and easy. I work with students to find areas that need strengthening then work patiently with them to hone their skills. Successful test preparation is largely about demystifying the test through time spent learning the correct approach which I have years of experience doing, with that confidence students can achieve any score they set their minds to.

Having read Christopher's bio, I sensed that there was something special about him, and that he was the right one for our son who has some learning challenges, particularly in the area of Math. I believe it is very important a tutor connects not only on an academic level but also where there can be some light hearted conversation. Christopher arrived punctually for our first meeting and his assessment of our son. In advance of that meeting I had explained to Christopher what the challenges are and what our collective objectives are. As soon as I saw him, he appeared to relaxed but confident. After an initial introduction, I stepped away to let Christopher and our son become acquainted and he immediately set about establishing some common ground which happened to be a particular sport. No more than Christopher, our son is also very perceptive and despite the fact that he initially resisted the idea of any tutor, his words after this first meeting were "I can work with him"! Its obviously early days yet, but so far so good!"

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment."

When you're solving algebra word problems, it's smart to have a plan of attack ready to follow. Solving word problems may seem difficult, but when you read through the problem and can figure out what the specific equation is, it's no harder than a regular algebra problem.
