Started helping others while in college 30+ years ago. Formally started teaching at a community college 3 years ago. I want to continue teaching both in college and privately.
I believe in understanding of math and not memorization being the key to success in math. Having a lot of exposure to various parts of math and multitude of different students I always try to find the right approach which depends on the student's level and needs.

About Jeff

I got my first masters in Applied Math when I was 23. To stay current and refresh my knowledge I earned my second graduate master's degree in May of 2016 and finally the PhD in Mathematics in 2020. I spent 30+ years 'near Wall street' in the IT departments of the Financial Guaranty companies. Wh

I took my first math course with Professor Slepoi at Union County College back in Fall 2015. Professor Slepoi was very interested in math and often expressed his interest in the material. Up to now, I still remember how passionate he is about math and as an Engineering Student, I began to realize why math is so important. His passion for math translated to me the urge to dig deeper into math material and has made me pursue a minor in applied mathematics.

I met Jeff Slepoi at Montclair University where both of us were graduate students at the Mathematics Department. We often took the same classes at the same time with Jeff helping me on my way. He was always willing to help being
both a capable mathematician and a great pedagogue. His grasp of the material was consistently nothing short of remarkable. In the classroom his questions made our professors and classmates penetrate the covered topics even deeper, shedding light on their hidden aspects. Often I was under the impression that he could do a better job teaching these classes than our professors. Both a strong mathematician and a pleasant person to work with Jeff seems to me a perfect teacher who can give a lot to his students. I can highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning mathematics.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from St. Norbert College, and I am currently studying for a PhD in statistics at University of California, Irvine. My goal is to encourage students to enjoy STEM subjects, especially mathematical sciences because they are such a beautiful way to understand the world. Math is so much more than algebra and geometry, and, if it is truly understood, even those subjects can be illuminating in how we understand the world.

About Kyle

Note: Summer time is generally more flexible for me. However, please contact me before signing up for a time because my schedule is less concrete. I am a Ph.D. student in Statistics and earned a Bachelor's in mathematics from St. Norbert College in 2016. I have been tutoring for over 10 years

Just like most things in life, math is more fun when it makes sense!
My lessons are unique because so are you. Never feel inferior or less than just because you don't learn the way others do. My task is to better help you excel in your math course and make these numbers make sense. I have experience tutoring through a volunteer program I took part in during high school at a library. I am very patient, and I welcome mistakes because we can overcome them together! I am kind and friendly, so feel free to ask me any math questions you have. I hope you will select me as your tutor and we can work together in making you a math expert!

About Oluwatoyin

I am a 2018 graduate from Central High School located in Philadelphia. I attend university in Chicago. During my time in high school, I took part in a tutoring program at one of my local libraries after school. Off the record, I have helped my younger siblings with countless homework assignments. D

High school math can be confusing if you don't understand everything before you leave class. Dr Dawn made a pretty quick impact on my sons understanding of geometry, understanding when to use the right methods and talking through word problems to make sure he knew what to solve. Definitely recommend!

Hello! My name is Omar, and I am a tutor for physics and mathematics through the collegiate level. There is nothing I enjoy more than sharing the scientific beauty of the world around us, and the math that underlies it, with my students. I help students to grasp insightful and intuitive ways of understanding physical and mathematical concepts, helping them do better in school and become better scientists. For many students, STEM can seem daunting; I hope to show them that, with the right guidance, anyone can tackle and enjoy even the most complicated science and mathematics.

There is no greater joy than helping a student reach their goals in STEM. I understand the feeling of being discouraged by difficult concepts, but I've discovered that under the right tutelage, nothing is impossible to understand. I love providing students with that guidance and watching them grow to their full potential.

When working with students, I develop a rough curriculum and gather/write problems for ...

She is able to explain and demonstrate difficult concepts in "kid language." She is very kind, patient, and understanding working with her students. She follows up on understanding of concepts.
She is thorough and dependable. She is a pleasure to work with and always has a positive attitude. I would recommend Angela as a math or Chinese language teacher for all levels of students."
