When I started taking lessons with Max, I knew three chords and very little about music theory. I never thought I would get past G-C-D. His patience and structured lessons helped me become a better player. Max is very encouraging and that was most appreciated. I have more confidence in my playing thanks to him. I even understand the circle of fifths!

Just had my first lesson with Billy and it was fantastic! He created the perfect balance of learning something enjoyable that I would be excited to go home and practice along with things that I had skipped over and knew I needed to re-visit in order to improve. I was impressed with his ability to quickly gauge my skill level and prior music knowledge so it didn’t feel mundane but challenged me just the perfect amount. Excited for our next lesson already!

Billy helped me understand what i wanted out of music and tailored the lesson to do just that...started w the basics but then let me direct whete i wanted to take my playing...easy going and made it so much fun....i would recommend him to anyone at the beginner/intermediate level, as he is adept at getting to know who u are as a player and goes at the appropriate pace....great teacher!

"Alani has been wonderful. She was so flexible and understanding when I had to cancel due to family reasons at the last minute. She has taught me several types of tunes and songs and listens and lets me take the lead in what I would like to learn and answers all my questions. She even simplified one of my favorite songs by Nickel Creek that was way too complex for me to try to play as a beginner but now I can play it and work up to the more complex version if I'd like. She is good at helping me find answers to many of my questions myself and guides me so that I can figures things out on my own. She is a great teacher for an independent person and can give a great foundation for a student to build from and know how to teach themselves. (Like the teacher who teaches one to fish rather than just giving the student the fish)"

"Mr. Lin was/is fantastic. I have absolutely no musical background and I left the first class even more excited about learning than when I arrive. Mr. Lin stressed the basics and insured that the topics covered were well reinforced. His teaching style is VERY user friendly while still maintaining a professional learning environment. Maybe if I had a teacher Like Mr. Lin when I was in Jr. High, I would have stuck with music. Instead I have waited over 40 years, but it would seem that scoring a teacher like Mr. Lin was worth the wait."
