I'm a professional dancer and choreographer and I have trained in a variety of dance techniques since the age of six. Throughout my dance career I have become aware of the importance of cross-training for optimal conditioning of the body, which is a key in injury prevention. In addition to my dance training I have practiced Yoga, Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique, Feldenkrais, Pilates, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis. I have also explored Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Alexander Technique.
I have more than seven years of experience as a Private Fitness Consultant, customizing my workout to the specific needs, goals and abilities of each individual client. I have taught group classes at The Ailey School, Dance New Amsterdam and Empire Fitness Advantage.

After giving birth to two children, it is not easy to get back in shape and I honestly think, that it would have not been possible if it weren't for Charly.
She is very sensitive to the health issues one faces and knows exactly what to do and what not to do. At the same time she gently pushes you enough to actually make the big difference. I am now back to the way I was before having the kids - just that now I am even little stronger.
But it is not just the strength and shape of your body, but Charly will also help you adjust for any imbalances in your body.

I take a functional fitness approach to my clients. I like high intensity training that varies each session. My Favorite Client Story I
One of my clients was moving and traveling around quite a bit, and he wanted help getting a solid workout regimen that was safe for his shoulder injury. PLUS he wanted to learn how to speak Chinese Mandarin through our workouts! Needless to say, this has been quite the fun and challenging mission for BOTH of us – he has improved significantly in endurance, body mass composition, and his new language skills – all while keeping his shoulder safe.
My favorite exercise is…
The vinyasa series in yoga (plank, chaturanga, upward-facing dog, downward-facing dog): it is so good for the entire body in terms of building strength, stamina and flexibility! I always try to include at least a few of these in each workout (maybe as part of the dynamic warm-up of a bootcamp class, and definitely as part of my yoga flows). It helps mobilize the spine, warm up the shoulders and hamstrings, activate the core, and center your focus.
