About Brett
Hey Guys,

I'm Brett and I am so excited to start sharing all the wonderful experiences that music has brought to my life, with YOU. I am a recent graduate from New York University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance from the Tisch School of the Arts. I work professionally both as a performer and a teacher. I most recently created the role of Jamie in the North American debut of Bobby Cronin's musical "DAYBREAK", and have also been seen around many regional theaters in the country, most notably "The Who's Tommy" at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. As well, I am always gigging as a singer, guitarist and pianist all around New York City. I am a composer working as both a singer/songwriter, and a film scorer. I have been teaching privately for 6 years from all age ranges and all experience levels. I have worked in a variety
of different mediums, and this is exactly what I bring to the table as a teacher. My exploration of music through so many vehicles has brought about a way of thinking; that music at its core is all the same, whether you sing it, play it, pluck it,or hit it! Therefore, lessons with me are about finding your core musician, then ascribing the technical necessities needed to perfect your desired instrument. I can't wait to get started and help you unlock yourself inner musician!

*** Lesson Details ***
As my tag line suggests, lessons with me are about finding the musician inside of yourself. We often forget that music at its' core is about expression. I want to give you the tools, techniques and structure to engage fully, freely and passionately with the rewarding art form of music. For singers, this means tapping into our breath, our bodies and our support to create those sounds that excite, captivate and move not only our audiences, but ourselves. For guitarists, we are going to exercise scales, fingerings and chords so that we develop a tool box for our inner rock star to play with! For pianists, whether you consider yourself a classical, jazz or rock pianist, we are going to build a foundation that allows you to play in whichever style you wish, and a technique that will always be there to support you.

I specialize in online lessons so that I can share this lesson program with student's all over the world! If this is your first time with online lessons, rest assure I will walk you through the set-up and technicalities to ensure the utmost productivity from our sessions!

Whichever instrument you take on, we will be building general music concepts throughout every lesson; playing with theory, chord/scale structure, etc. In this way, we develop that all powerful musician in ourselves who can work in multiple artistic mediums, and find fulfillment in the many facets of this amazing art form.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons are give online, therefore all you need is a computer with a web camera and microphone, and a set up that allows you to play your instrument while on camera!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide the necessary URLs and PDFs needed for lessons!

*** Specialties ***
Broadway singing, classical voice, folk guitar, rock guitar, jazz guitar, classical piano, rock piano, jazz piano

He's easy going and formats his lessons to the individuals goals. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I have had a wonderful organ teacher, Shoko, for quite a few months. She is very patient, extremely pleasant and teaches very well. I learned quite a bit from her since I knew no organ playing at all at onset.

May she have a long teaching carrier.

I revel in teaching all styles & levels and revel even more in making the universal connections that tie across all musical genre and levels.
From Beethoven to Beatles to Blues and beyond - music moves
in the same pathways and it gives me great satisfaction to expose my students to this connections.

About Dan
Dan, a multi faceted musician, composer and educator active in the tri-state area since 1994. Dan's eclectic education, upbringing and fields of interest render him one of the unique voices in the dynamic field of current music education.
In an era where old boundaries are breaking and a growing musician needs to have expanded horizons, Dan stands out in the crowd.

Born and raised in Jerusalem, Dan received his musical education from the Rubin music academy in Jerusalem and the Manhattan School of music in NYC where he completed a Masters degree in classical composition and Jazz performance. Dan's playing and compositions were performed nationally and internationally, reviewed by the New York Times, The St Louis Post Dispatch and other publications.

Currently Dan is teaching composition, film scoring, theory and ear training at the

The newest addition to Dan's expending circle is The Red Bank Regional High School for the performing arts where he has a been a guest lecturer since fall of 2011.

Dan has been giving private lessons of music and music related subjects for over 20 years.

The system Dan developed over the years of teaching is based on two fundamental principles-
The paramount importance of developing sound traditional skills and the strong conviction that you should always tailor the method to the student and never tailor the student to the method.

Dan's eclectic background enables him to draw on a wide range of musical styles and techniques, fulfilling the needs of students from all walks of the musical experience. Lessons are available in the following areas for all ages and levels:

Dan is an excellent instructor. My half hr per week under his guidance helps me develop good practice routines; learn music history, & theory. I don't even have to tell him what I've struggled with during my practice sessions (at home) Dan identifies those obstacles and provides tools for improvement. Quite an impressive pro in my estimation. Just what I need to continue my musical journey. Pretty nice guy also.

I am a 20 year musician with 11 years teaching experience. Born and raised in New York City, I attended Laguardia high school for music and art and afterward Queens College majoring in music. My main instruments are Clarinet, Drums, and Saxophone, but i also have a strong background in Piano, Trumpet, and Flute. I've taken private music lessons for the past 15 years with world class musicians, among them David Weber and Howard Hirsch. I've performed in every major concert hall in New York City, including Carnegie Hall when i was only 11 years old. I performed alongside many famous musicians, including the late Tito Puente.

My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emph
asize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Any question or confusion a student has about anything during the lesson will be explained in detail and dealt with until he/she understands the concept. I've had many students pass all levels of the ABRSM and NYSSMA exams as well as receive academic scholarships for musical excellence.

Mr. Aaron is an amazing teacher. He is knowledgeable, very patient and very helpful. After taking several lessons with Mr. Aaron, I realized playing piano is a much more delicate form of art than I had thought.

In Mr. Aaron's class, piano playing, understanding of music, music theory and the culture of music are nicely combined. I've learned playing piano before, but have never been so happy and learning so much.

I feel very lucky to learn music with Mr. Aaron.

Even though the lessons were about singing, it helped me gain a general confidence in myself regarding posture, and using a loud voice. He has given a number of exercises to develop my breathing, vibrato, tone, and lower registers to use on my own. Throughout my time at Berklee, NEC, and now Juilliard, I have studied with many great teachers and musicians from Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Henderson, Kenny Barron, Tiger Okoshi, John McNeil, and Laurie Frink to Jerry Bergonzi, and Miguel Zenon. The diverse subjects we went over in lessons and classes gives me a unique knowledge of certain styles and musical ideas. I try to be as personal and individual as I can when it comes to teaching students. That was the thing that stood out amongst my favorite teachers.

About David
At 28 years old, David Neves is one of the most active and exciting trumpet players in New York and Boston’s jazz scene. Neves was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Through this program, David had the privilege of studying and performing with some of the most accomplished and well-known jazz musicians in the world, including Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone. Neves then attended the prestigious New England Conservatory where he received his Master’s of Music in Jazz Performance.

A world-class musician, David’s talents have sent him all over the globe to venues such as the Tokyo Jazz Festival, Torino Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival, and the Newport Ja
zz Festival. In 2010, Neves traveled to Sydney, Australia, where he won first prize in the International Trumpet Guild’s Jazz Solo Competition. Recently, Neves was faculty at the 2016 Torino Jazz Festival where he conducted masterclasses, as well as the advanced ensemble that was featured at the festival, performing “April 14th, 2013” from his debut album, “Progress Report.”

In February 2014, David independently released Progress Report, his first full-length album as a leader and composer. This project debuts intriguing, all-original music, and David is joined by some of the finest young musicians in Boston and New York.

A recent recipient of the prestigious Artist Diploma in Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, Greg Gisbert, and Ben Wolfe; David is currently performing and teaching in the New York, and Boston areas.

David's a really cool teacher. He knows a lot and has given me a ton of stuff to improve my playing and get ready for college. He's such a good and helpful teacher I even recommended him to my friend to take lessons.

About Steve
Hello,
I am a musician of 16 years. I went to Salem State University for music, where I studied guitar, piano, violin and sitar. I am primarily a jazz guitarist, but I love all kinds of music. I am happy to teach all styles. I teach guitar, bass, ukulele and piano. I can also teach you things like ear training, music theory, how to read etc.

I have been teaching privately for 6 years. I have had students as young as 6 and as old as 75. Whether you are looking to learn some of your favorite songs, or trying to gain a deeper understanding of music, I can help.

I would give a 6th star for Steve Lacey if I could. He is patient and is a master guitar player.

At age 71, my fist lesson with Steve was August 6, 2015. His instructional style, skillful listening, knowledge and passion for music inspired me to practice and practice and write and write. To those ends, Steve encouraged me to attend an Open Mic Night or two after 7 guitar lessons. Though I was shaking like a box of pills at my first OMN, I eventually overcame my fear and played and sang several blues tunes I'd written. My journey continues. Sometimes I feel like I'm six years old, yet I'm learning how to play better under Steve's guidance. His influence on me has been, and continues to be, profound. Steve's integrity is unimpeachable. I enthusiastically recommend Steve as a music teacher. Art Beane

Music Criticism: How To Handle a Critical Audience

Years ago, I heard my first band would be featured in the local paper and I was so excited to read the article. I hurried home to read it and found that the short blurb was far from complimentary. However, I have learned how to handle criticism and continued to make music that makes me happy.
