About Paul
I have been teaching music for about 22 years mostly on the guitar but I also give lessons on the bass, piano, and ukelele. I give lessons to beginners of all ages. If you want to learn and have fun I am ready for your lesson. In addition to teaching I have played in various local original and cover bands as well as musical productions. I enjoy the challenge every student brings.

*** Lesson Details ***
I structure my lessons with a focus on learning to read and play music but I also like to teach a student what interests them as well. I think learning to read music is very important and it aides in the students development of their own musical personality. Early on the student will also learn songs or stlyes that interest them so its not just work but also play.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide books and various other t
hings (e.g. picks, music stands, metronomes, etc... at students expense) if asked. Student should provide instrument

*** Specialties ***
beginner on all instruments and rock guitar.

I have been struggling to learn how to play for 35 years and never could find the right instructor for "Me". I have come to the conclusion that I will never play the piano so I have given up on my dream. I felt this was a big let down in my life and I couldn't let myself down by giving up. So I started a search again for an Instructor that will be good for me. My search online took me to takelessons and I was connected with Paul.

I thought, "What do I have to lose, nothing". So I signed up and I have to say after meeting Paul and taking, now 3 lessons, I find that I finally found the instructor for me.

Paul is very attentive to my learning needs and is very accommodating in adopting his teaching style to fit my learning style. I am a slow learner, as well as, a sight learner (in other words, I have to see what one is explaining for me to understand) Paul has taken his time with me to show and explain everything to me.

Paul encourages me to ask questions and he will take the time to answer any question that I have and if I don't understand, Paul will explain it differently to me until I understand. Paul has a vast knowledge in music, Piano and other instruments which is very reassuring to me.

I know I have made the right decision to take my lessons with Paul. I have to say, I will finally be able to achieve a dream of mine that I have had for the past 35 year, and it's all thanks to Paul.

Thank you so much, Paul!!!

Highly recommended!
Paul is a true professional. Always polite, punctual and flexible. My son has been making quite a bit of progress in a few short months Paul has been teaching him. To the point that the middle school music teacher will be promoting my son to the advanced level band.

About Monica
I'm a performing artist and music teacher. I received my Bachelors and Masters degree in music at Boston's New England Conservatory, where I was a member of the jazz, classical, and third-stream departments. I also spent 8 years gigging in Berlin, Germany and teaching adults and teenagers. However, I've always also enjoyed working with kids; especially introducing them to music through piano, language, movement, role-playing, and singing. I have the most experience teaching piano, and I think it's the best instrument to start on, if you don't know much about music, but flute was my first instrument, and singing is my forte!

We are so pleased to have found Monica to teach Piano to our 8 year old daughter Erin. Every week Erin is looking forward to her lesson and she really seems to enjoy learning as Monica makes the lessons fun for her. There seems to be a perfect balance of discipline and creative play that keeps Erin not only interested, but excited to learn! We could not be more satisfied.

Great experience so far as monica is able to connect with my usually shy 4 year old girl engaged and interested in piano... That's my main goal at this stage and monica is doing a great job of it!

Monica works wonderfully with my sons aged 3 and 6. She is patient and good natured while pushing them to continue challenging themselves. I usually hear laughter accompanying the lesson and both boys are always excited to show me how much they have progressed. After she leaves after the lessons, my little one always hollers out the door " I love you Monica!" I recommend her without reservation.

About Matt
I started playing piano when I was 6 years old and before 5th grade I was accepted into the prep program at Mannes The New School of Music. I studied piano and music there until I graduated my senior year of high school. Now I am in the middle of finishing my bachelors degree as a Music Education major from William Paterson University with a concentration in classical piano. My relationship with my teachers is what inspired me to become a music teacher myself and my passion for music comes from teaching and playing with others. I think that anyone can play music and everyone should have the chance to.

About David
Greetings, future students. I've been teaching piano for 30 years. I'm a professional pianist working mostly in Manhattan's major hotels. I play all styles of music and so I can teach all styles. Classical (I was accepted to the Juilliard Preparatory School at age 12), pop, jazz, blues, Broadway etc. I believe that learning to play the piano should be an enjoyable experience. Just as Sesame Street came up with the concept that learning can be fun, I do the same. Children as well as adults truly like me. This is extremely important. Thank you for reading my profile.
