About Gina
As of May 20th, 2018, I am in New York City again and will be accepting new students as well as reconnecting with anyone who wants to return.
I've completed two graduate degrees: one in Music and the other in Dance and Theater studies.
My undergrad degree is from The Juilliard School and it is in Dance.

I've taught children and grown ups for many years. I have a strong performing career and love the way teaching keeps me in a giving and learning place.

*** Lesson Details ***
With beginning students I am very laid back and patient and believe strongly that in the play of games and experiments technique will develop and manifest. As the student becomes more advanced I become more demanding as do the materials.

As an Acting teacher I have the capacity to take students along all the way to professional and beyond. I'm a membe
r of the Actors Studio, the performing unions and have studied since childhood at ACT and then all over the world including The National in London.

For Dance, I have a wide knowledge and can teach several forms as well as history and materials. In Juilliard I specialized in historical dance of the French Court which is also known as pre-ballet. At present I am studying Tango and other ballroom forms and can teach the beginning levels as well as help choreograph for weddings or events. Of course I also teach Ballet and many forms of Modern Dance. I adore teaching dance composition. To help a dance student make their own dances is very fulfilling.
For the Visual Arts I teach Abstract Painting as well as Installation and Performance Art.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I have supplies and space. Visual Art students need to contribute to materials by finding or purchasing whatever they like and adding to the mix. My students are welcome to use what I have here and I am always adding materials. Many people throw away materials that are perfectly good for art making so keep your eyes open and you'll find all kinds of good things. Visual Art students need to book a 2 hour minimum and I will lower the price if you just let me know you need it.

My fees: I start at a higher fee and after you've been a regular student we can lower the fee for you if you need.

*** Travel Equipment ***
just a space to work in - we can create a work space out of any space.

*** Specialties ***
In dance I teach classical ballet principles for beginners or those who are returning and want to work carefully and privately. I teach from the tradition of Alfredo Corvino's principles of relationship to organic forms and structures for sound development. I studied with Mr Corvino for years and continue to study with Ernesta Corvino.
For acting I teach a combination of classical acting technique with American sense memory and relaxation skills. I am well versed in the teachings of Lee Strasberg and then spent time in London to 'fill in the cracks' of my training with analytical skills as well as the various european influences that the Royal National embrace.
I teach creative discovery in combination with classical devices so the student can discover their own artistry while learning actual classical devices for accomplishing specific goals.

Gina is great! My 14 year old daughter loved her. She helped her work on several techniques and scenes in preparation for an audition. I would definitely recommend her for various levels of experience.
She loves the craft and it shows in her teaching. Shes tough but so loving and enthusiastic.

I have been a professional actress for most of my adult life. I have worked in film and theater and understand the many ways towards developing a fully realized character.

About Amy
I have been a voice, acting, and teacher of creative arts for over 25 years. My background includes ten years of classical voice training with Maestro Julio Berrocal, as well as vocal training through the Feldenkrais approach with Marcy Lindhiemer. In acting, I have studied with renowned Stanislavsky scholar Sonia Moore and Master acting teacher of the Strasberg Method, Marcia Haufrecht. I received a B.A. For comparative literature and creative writing at the State University of New York at Purchase and have recently completed my Master's degree in social work at Walden University.
I believe, within all of us, Is the ability to express something distinctive and original. I work to help students discover their unique voice, whether it be through singing, acting, or writing. I share with my students an array of tools to gain the ability
and confidence to achieve their goals. I empathize deeply with the challenges students may face when pursuing a life in the creative and performing arts, having worked professionally in those areas for most of my adult life. I believe it is the teacher's job to respect each student's individual process of learning.
My students have gone on to become recording artists, Broadway performers, movie actors, Blues and cabaret artists, and published writers.

*** Lesson Details ***
Voice
I am an empathetic teacher, sensitive to the student's individual process of learning. My singing lessons usually start with breathing and relaxation exercises. Vocal technique exercises come next. When the student is fully warmed up, we will begin to work on songs. It is important that students be a part of the process of picking material since the more personally they respond to the material the more apt they are to become engaged in their lessons. After three to six months beginning students will have gained an understanding of the fundamentals of breathing, relaxation, and basic performance skills. With more advanced students the focus will be on range extension and the on-going development of vocal style through song interpretation and performance related exercises.
Acting
As an acting teacher and coach, I tailor my classes to the needs of each student. I utilize improvisatory and sensory techniques to help unleash spontaneity. I also encourage the students to use their personal experiences as a way to access a full range of emotions. I enjoy working with the student on script analysis, so as to discover the underlying motivations of the character the student is working on.
Creative and Lyric Writing
I use prompts as a way to get the student writing. Often, I will ask the student to write for stretches of time without editing themselves. It is important to unleash imagination before beginning the process of editing. Many times it is the unexpected that is the most compelling.

*** Studio Equipment ***
home- 10 minutes away from Manhattan with piano, seating for parents
-practice studio seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide a piano, cd/mp3 player and an large library of songbooks to work from. The student should bring sheet music of songs they want to work on and a recording device.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching how to sing rock, pop, musical theater, jazz, cabaret, and blues without hurting the voice as well as method acting instruction.

Students will learn everything from emotional preparation to what to do if you are emotionally dried up before a big performance! Students will gain foolproof techniques so they will never feel unprepared, whether it is an audition or performance.

About Kimberly
I am a trained actress in my late 20's. I have experience coaching many professional working actors. I have worked on audition sides for TV (Law & Order, Narcos, Disney, SMILF, etc), independent films, big budget studio films, web series, off broadway plays, off off broadway plays, monologues, and anything in between with my students!

I am currently the creator, writer, lead actress & executive producer of my own comedic web series (to air mid-2018).

I have been trained by exceptional teachers in the following: Linklater (voice), Williamson (movement), film/tv & theater, script analysis, theater & film history, cold reading, monologue, stand-up comedy, etc. I have also been mentored by the legendary standup comedian Rick Crom.

I can also work with the actor, writer or comedian on the business aspect of their career: how can I
get the best headshot?, what things should I be doing everyday to reach my acting goals (some may not even be acting/writing/comedy!)?, how do I get in front of this specific casting director/producer/etc?, what events/workshops should I be attending? We can go over all that plus how to deal with nerves, get through personal blocks, fear-related patterns, and other things that may be holding you back from being the best artist you can be!

I believe training is so important so congrats on taking the first step towards a successful, exciting career! I can't wait to share my passions with you!

I have a self tape set-up with a backdrop, professional lighting & tripod. I am happy to be your reader & coach as we film your audition, scene or stand up set. We can use this as a tool to improve or film a self tape audition. We can also chose your best take together.

Are you new to acting or just looking for an ongoing coach to help you with auditions? Maybe you are preparing for some school auditions, college or grad school and need to work on monologues? I'm a working professional actor with 10 years of experience in both theatre and film and TV. Each lesson is customized for each student's needs and I'm happy to build a curriculum around you! Let's get started!

About Kate
I'm a professional actor and singer hailing from down south in Dallas Texas! I've been in New York working for the last 10 years as an actor, writer and producer. I've been teaching for about 5 years a variety of lessons as well as students. I have a traditional background, garnering my degree in Acting from St. Edward's University in Austin Texas and in the last 8 years have begun my television and film career. My technique is primarily Meisner based but I use a variety of methods to coach and teach based on the needs of the student! I travel to you, to a rehearsal space or am happy to host you in my apartment in Queens. I love working with all different kinds of students at varying levels in their acting and figuring out what they need to crack that monologue, audition or character choice. I'm also well versed in the television and film
business in the Northeast so if you are looking to brush up on your business acumen or develop a more targeting pitch as a performer, we can work on that also! I'm also available to come with you to an audition to coach or read with you on a self tape. Send me a message! Let's create together! :)

My son had just expressed interest in acting so we worked with Kate in 6 sessions helping him become more comfortable with auditioning, cold reading and scene work. She was attentive, creative and knowledgeable. She made him feel confident and even helped him make some connections with possible agents and managers. The fact that she’s actively auditioning and knows the current state of the industry is a game changer! We continue to work with her for specific auditions and coachings, she’s awesome!

Anytime I'd be working on a monologue or a scene, she would always allow me to do what I felt my instincts were driving me to do and then she'd have insightful conversations afterwards where I'd think about things I wasn't thinking of before, regarding the character or the scene. It gave me a completely new perspective to try the scene again where we'd then tweak things that needed tweaking. She's got a great eye and ear for this stuff!

About Michael
Hi friends,

It is nice to meet you! I am 'Emmy Nominated' actor and twenty five year veteran actor on the longest running show in broadcast history The Guiding Light. In addition, I was a three time nominee for best actor for the Soap Opera Digest Awards. I was fortunate to study acting from the legendary acting teacher Stella Adler and Larry Moss. I'm also a student and performer from the highly acclaimed Improv group 'The Groundlings'.

I've been fortunate to be a working actor most of my life. My credits include the recurring role of Dr. Stewart Farmingham on the popular ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D.and Paul in It's a Small World, part of an anthology series produced by David Lynch for HBO and Lead featured roles in Law and Order. I have booked numerous lead roles in feature films and off-Broadway and in national television commer
cials. My American Express commercial won the ESPY award for best commercial of the year.

In the fall of 2010, I started Studio 47 Productions to be a leader to effective branding with original content for web streaming. I soon partnered with ConvergTV's, The Venture Channel. I was proud to announce distribution of my award winning comedy soap spoof, Steamboat now available on Roku and NetTalk.

My first play as a playwright, 'Breathing Under Dirt' was recently awarded ''Best Play' at the Manhattan Repertory One Act Festival in March.' Breathing Under Dirt' has since been expanded to a full length play and launched its world Premier at the Ella Fitzgerald Theater in Maryland to rave reviews. ' Breathing Under Dirt' is now getting Broadway consideration with the highly acclaimed director Larry Moss at the helm. I have just completed my second play 'Red Rain' which explores the themes of war and peace that collide within a family during the Vietnam War.' Red Rain' is currently being work shopped in NYC for a production launch in early 2020.

Enough about me! I am on this site as my true passion is building successful acting careers. Just so you know, I am a nuts and bolt guy. There is a clear road map to increase your chances of success that I will give you. The fact is casting directors have made a DECISION about you before you even open your mouth. I will empower your' actor’s ego' so that you will own any room you walk in.
I want to learn about you and your goals. Let's start! Just want to wish you success on your journey.

Kind regards,

In everything that I do, I see it as a collaboration. And, every lesson with me will be exactly that. Although I'm teaching, we will work as a team to reach your performance goals, whether that be for an audition, for a show, or for just for yourself.

We will call attention to breath, vocal technique, physicality (as both character and performer), and intention and script/monologue analysis. However, lessons will be catered to your unique self.

About Marissa
I am an undergraduate earning my BFA studying Acting, Directing, and Playwriting at NYU Tisch’s Playwrights Horizons Theater School and am also minoring in Teacher Education. I also work in early childhood special education classrooms.

I have performed in NYU Tisch shows (with one coming up in February) and have performed in both downtown theater and Off-Broadway.

As an artist and activist, it's my mission to use myself as a vessel to bring to life not only my own work, but the work of underrepresented voices and underrepresented narratives. What I immerse myself in remains authentic in storytelling experiences without any filtering.

I am a certified instructor and teacher, having now taught at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for 2 years (Method Acting, performance ans monologue deconstruction), as well as a former graduate of Manhattan School of Music in Classical Vocal performance and Piano.

My work with students is thorough, concentrating on building their stamina with text work, underlying meanings to the text, as well as in-depth character work and study. Instrumentation/Voice will be approached with careful attention to interpretation, meanings of any text and overall phrasing.

About Claire
I have been a professional instructor at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute with a concentration in Method Acting. My additionally hold a Bachelors Degree in Voice from the Manhattan School of Music, and have 24 years experience as a pianist and cellist.

With regards to Acting, I approach my coachings with students on a structured set of intervals, beginning with getting to know and use your instrument (yourself) before we begin heavy in-depth analysis of text, character inner (and outer) life, as well as beatwork and scene study. Coachings, I view, are fundamentally going to help you grow at a pace that will most be beneficial to you and allow you great ease and flexibility on stage or film.

I approach voice in a similar manner, as the instrument will need to be nurtured, stretched and guided as we move through set scales,
phrasings and volume. The voice also develops at a vastly diffetent rate than any other physical instrument, and so, we want to approach said teachings with utmost care, patience and ideology that the more time passes, the more can develop.

With Cello and Piano, workbooks with note and sheet music exercises will be provided. This aims to help with fingering memorization, phrasings, dynamics, and overall structure of a piece. Workbooks can also lend themselves to a deeper knowledge of scales, key signatures and basic music theory that should always be applied to all music.

Like with all my,coachings, I recommend the use of an audio recorder and/or notebook to write down a detailed summary of what was worked on and achieved during our session! :)
